As though I was the only patient in the office and I was royalty. thinking...am I still in New York City? The city where professionals unfortunately are rushing you in and out, milking every second of their day so that they can pay for little Tommys 60k a year pre-school tuition and NYC commercial real estate. I was a former long-time patient of a practice that Integrated Aesthetic Dentistry acquired and I…read morecame in to see them for a routine tooth cleaning (the appointment was actually with my previous Dr). In addition to the cleaning, they gave me thorough visual evaluation, and x-rays and although I found the cost to be relatively high, but I recognized that this covered more than just a cleaning, so I proceeded with paying. Subsequently, they recommended a second visit for a deeper cleaning, which was performed not by a dentist, but by their dental hygienist. To my astonishment, the invoice for this visit was twice the amount of my initial visit -- and at quadruple what is a reasonable charge. I would not have gone had I been informed that the fee would be $1,100... for a cleaning. I would not have agreed to this treatment as I only discovered this after the hygienist was finished and I was billed. I never experienced this issue my preivous dentists, in the 15-20+ years that I was their patient. I never needed to inquire about the charges before service was performed as their charges were always reasonable . Deeply concerned about the billing, I attempted to reach out to their office to discuss the matter numerous times. I left messages via phone calls (three times) and text messages (three times) without receiving any response. Effective communication is crucial in any professional relationship, especially in health care. The lack of response to my multiple attempts to discuss my concerns about the exorbitant invoice reflects a lack of courtesy and responsiveness that I find disheartening. It also concerns me that should I require emergency service I would be unable to receive it. As a conscientious consumer, I could not justify continuing with a dental service that not only grossly overcharges its patients but also fails to address their concerns in a timely and respectful manner. I believe that fair pricing and open communication are fundamental aspects of any reputable health care practice.

So much so that I ignored cavities that formed, including a large cavity that formed in my two front teeth. After doing a lot of research, reading reviews, and deciding which dentist I would trust to finally fix my teeth problems, I found Dr. Saleh at WTCDental. I could not be happier with the work that has been done thus far! I'm writing this review on my way to the third appointment in under a months time and I'm actually excited! From the first call I received from Janette (hope I spell everyone's name correctly) I knew I had made the right choice, the vibes were great and I felt really welcome! She was able to go over a few things with me over the phone and right off the bat my nerves were calmed. The first appointment was more of a consultation- Elida took care of doing my X-rays. In the past this had been an almost pre-torture like experience for me, but not here, she had no problem walking me through the simplest things that most people would feel annoyed to do, she made it as comfortable as possible for me and even had me laughing! After the x-rays I met with Dr. Saleh (he briefly and very politely introduced himself before the x-rays) who's truly as informative and patient as the reviews say; he spent as much time as I needed to explain everything to me in depth, was very straight forward with options of care and even pricing! The next appointment Dr. Saleh filled the cavities in my front two teeth, and though I was still a little nervous going into it, that fear was shed very quickly. Janet was out sick that day so I was greeted by Nisrine who also helped Dr. Saleh during the procedure, she was just as welcoming and when I say that the vibes at this dental office are amazing, I truly mean it! Everyone makes you feel as if you're a friend rather than just a client! Half way through the procedure (which went amazingly by the way) Mogan took over for Nisrine; Mogan also did an amazing job and shared her story of how she got into the dental field with me. (They're all great people as well outside the professional vibes they all give off and I thoroughly enjoyed conversing with everyone!) I have to cut this review short since I'm on my way there now for the third but- my front teeth look AMAZING! Dr. Saleh did a perfect job and I definitely urge anyone looking for great dental care to go here! I'm looking forward to fixing the rest of my problems and if you made it through reading this, you can probably tell I'm a handful haha! I'm very appreciative of the professional level of care I received here in such a personable way!

As an individual who was petrified of Dentists, I was left with addressing issues as I got older. Dr Saleh has made going to the dentist a pleasant experience. Dentists ask you to "raise your hand if you feel pain". It's feeling that initial pain that always scared me. This Dentist makes sure you never get to that point. I've had some major procedures and not once have I felt pain or had to raise my hand. I've been with Dr Saleh for a couple of years and today it's reached the point where I'm so relaxed I could fall asleep even with the "dreaded" drill in my mouth. His work is flawless. His team also need acknowledgment as they too are amazing at making you feel at ease and comfortable. Seriously, if you have a fear of dentists please try Dr Saleh.

Nothing is done without contacting your insurer. Let's have an extra dental cleaning - that's our rule. Everything will be paid by the insurer, be calm." I agreed, although I didn't understand how one could do this procedure with a toothache. I arrived at the appointed hour, was greeted with a smile, and was informed that I would have to pay for the service if the insurer did not pay for it. It was like a thunderbolt. There was a commitment on the table that I had to sign or walk away. I chose the second path. Within two hours I was already at another doctor in the area. Using my insurance, he gave me a consultation with no additional conditions and no teeth cleaning. But that's a whole other story. The moral is not all gold that glitters.

tl;dr: this place takes advantage of economically vulnerable people and the administration is an…read moreabsolute mess. Extremely long wait after appointment time to be seen, and the administration is horribly managed. This place is terrible. I went to get my wisdom teeth removed. The consultation was standard and everything went fine. They verified that I was qualified for a loan and repayment plan but then I received a letter in the mail after my surgery saying that I did not qualify for the extended repayment plan despite being assured before my surgery that I was. They had me sign up for a plan that caused me financial stress under false pretenses. They called to reschedule my surgery twice which caused confusion with my job because I had to request time off for the surgery and then change it, twice. When I arrived for my surgery, I had to wait an hour and half to be seen by the surgeon whose assistant did not follow her instructions to x ray me while I waited, causing more of a delay. The guy before me had been waiting for two hours. The surgery itself went fine. They have very capable doctors. But so do A LOT of other dental offices. I received IV sedation and it was very fast. The big issue with this place is the management and administration. It is VERY poorly managed. They sent my scripts to the wrong pharmacy (TWICE!) and it took a few hours after my surgery to get them. Also, I requested an itemized receipt for my surgery both before and after my procedure. Was initially told hey can't give that to me until after the procedure. Then on 10/12 when I followed up I was told it would take a day to get to me. It's 10/17 and I still don't have my itemized receipt and they have not called me back. This is what I wonder: 1. I asked for an itemized receipt before my surgery and they said that they could not provide this until after the surgery because that's when they would be able to calculate the totals. 2. If that's the case why did they give me a solid price (the wording was, verbatim "the surgery will cost $2400". It was a definitive statement and not a quote) and have me sign up for a loan and repayment plan based on this amount if they can't actually calculate the totals until after the procedure? 3. Why are they unable to supply an itemized receipt when requested? Why don't they already have this information calculated and on file? Why won't they return my calls about this? Why are they being so shady about this? I am concerned that this place takes advantage of those who need dental work and who may be economically vulnerable, in a lot of pain, and who may be desperate to get this work done. I sincerely regret using Brooklyn Dental and besides my follow up, will never see them again.
