Fried chicken excellent hot and crispy with a little spice

Reviewing two visits. One visit dined in and one got take out. Eatery in HMart supermarket. It is small simple and plain but delicious and hot fresh food. A popular place to eat. Friendly and very good service. Ate family style. Dishes we ate were numbers 2, 7, 13, 14, 17, 18 and 21. Very good served hot and tasty. The only dish which was average to me was the fried rice. Appetizers or sides come with the soups. They are delicious. Bean sprouts with a hint of sesame flavor Kimchi Potato salad which was ok Radishes Would like large shrimp in the dishes with shrimp. They use baby tiny shrimp. Very good. 4.5

Went here to grocery shop and the supermarket is a good spot to shop at. After shopping, I noticed that the restaurant on the side is finally open and this store is never open whenever I go there. I don't know if it's true but apparently they changed owners for the restaurant part but I've noticed a change in their food. Food was very bland, it's wasn't great and I didn't enjoy it. I ordered the soon dubu tofu soup and it comes with rice and side dishes. The soup was bland, felt weak in flavor and it was loaded with only tofu and little seafood was provided. The workers were very nice and friendly and provided great service for my takeout. Restaurant is a tiny spots with tables all cramped together. Don't think I would go back for their food, I rather make the far drive to the new hmart food court instead.

    Bought in mid-January 2023.

The store is ok, but check the best by and expire dates on their products as items might be past those dates. I made the mistake of not checking and in January bought a small canned item that was several months past the 'best by' date. Not the end of the world, but I went to see if I could exchange for more recent best by date. I admit that I didn't have the receipt, as I don't really save the receipt for small grocery items. I was told I couldn't exchange without a receipt. I understand people might try to take advantage of returning or exchanging without receipts, but it would be nice if they would have let me exchange a small item without receipt that was months past best by date, as a courtesy. Will be hard to want to shop at a store that doesn't trust you as a customer.

    Menu 19-30 Order: (215) 946-2804

Love the food here. To order takeout the number is: (215) 946-2804 They sometimes close early.

I get a semi when I look at this.

The best Korean grocery market. The produce is fantastic, the pricing is wonderful, and the selection is endless!

The store is generally clean and has pretty decent prices on most items. I have never tried the hot food section.

So, while there is no actual nearby pier, this area is very wet and full of earthen dams and dikes, and is a great place for fishing and hunting. Lori was our server. She was great from start to finish. We started with their small styro bowl of Crab Bisque. It was thick and tasty, and perhaps a tad salty. Liked it. I followed that with English style Fish & Chips, and my friend went with Fried Stuffed Flounder and Breaded Eggplant. I think mine was made with cod. With a splash of Heinz malt vinegar the taste and texture were decent, but not what I devoured visiting England. The coined potato medallions were very good dipped in tartar sauce. The stuffed flounder seemed prefabricated and frozen rather than fresh and made in their kitchen. It was not what we were hoping for. The atmosphere of Under the Pier was actually the better part of the experience. Maybe their oysters and other locally sourced crustaceans are the better way to go to avoid freezer boredom. I really liked the fried clams and fried shrimp, I would ask for everything extra crispy. The clams could have had a few extra minutes in the fryer. My friend said the Bloody Mary wasn't the best but at $6.50 it was quite the deal. This is a very casual spot. If you are looking for fancy this isn't for you. What you will find is paper plates and baskets filled with delicious economically priced seafood.

Our server was a delight. So excited to tell us all about the place and answer questions along the way. She kept our glasses full all the while tending bar and other tables. The vodka chicken sandwich was well done, tasty and crisp dredged in a thick vodka sauce and adorned with cheese. It did come with tomato but it was a little odd like it just didn't belong. I just added it to my generous side salad (an option instead of fries). This salad was packed full of fresh greens, cukes & tomatoes with a most delightful dressing. His French dip was full of flavor with tender med rare beef delicately sliced thin and high. The au jus that accompanied it was a nice compliment to the sandwich. We sat in a comfy booth with a view of the bar TVs and close enough to enjoy the live musician. A perfect place to grab a quick lunch and we will definitely be back!
