The problem was the cost and portion. Chicken and dressing, green beans and Mac and cheese. $9+. For a very small amount. They charge a la cart it seems. I got a little more than a tablespoon of green beans and paid &1.99 for it. All canned it seems. And... it took forever to get through the line. The slowest. Just like so many restaurants in Rome... if you don't know the food or service sucks then you don't know the food or service sucks. Drive a hour south to get good food.

Liver and onions will always put a smile on my face! I love a good meat and two cafeteria vibe. I had fried green tomatoes & turnips. Both sides were outstanding. Now what I did not like what that rice! Way too much butter but I do believe it was still on stand by from breakfast. I really appreciate the nice lady getting it for me so that's really why I didn't refuse it. The service was really nice and friendly by all the staff. I loved my food. I loved the sweet tea ( with lemons). And I looooved the cherry / pineapple cobbler I had to go. It's tastes like nothing I've ever had before. Pricing is reasonable for your typically restaurant of this nature. Cedar house is a family owned business that's been around for years. They are definitely in my lunch rotation now.

I was born and raised in the Ham so I'm used to the way we normally do it. The look threw me off. It was as if yellow food coloring was used. The chicken was overdone as well. If not for these two, I would have given this a 5 star. But I can't get over the yellow.

The options rotate a good bit, and there's always something that works whether you want a hot meal, a salad, or just something quick. The grill station is consistent, the veggies are usually cooked well, and the grab and go section is clutch if you're in a rush. The best part is that the food tastes fresher than you'd expect, and the prices are better than most places around the hospital district. The staff is friendly, and even during busy hours it moves fast enough that you're not standing around forever. My only complaint is that some days feel a little repetitive and the seating area can get crowded, especially around lunchtime. But overall, for a hospital cafeteria, it's clean, reliable, and way better than you'd think. I'd definitely eat here again if I'm at Children's for meetings.

Boxes were easy to access and check out was...a bit challenged that day because they had just switched systems, but oh well. And there is a fee to use a card, or a discount for cash, as they word it.
