Review is based on lunch box only: I grabbed lunch here as take out and didnt know they moved to the Madison street publix shopping center. When i mentioned that to the lady taking payment, she rudely said, "yea three years ago!" I guess she was having a bad day or was really irritated that I didn't know they moved three years ago. Oh well. Anyhow, now to the food. The chicken itself was definitely prepared in bulk for lunch boxes. It had good flavor and good meat chunks. The broccoli was drenched in too much sauce. Well.. its been sitting in the sauce. Some may prefer this, but i prefer fresher broccoli. The fried rice was typical Chinese egg fried rice. I liked that it didn't contain the frozen peas and carrots tho. The lomein was spaghetti noodles. Hmmm not the lomein i was expecting. It was a little weird but it wasn't bad.. but definitely wont be going back for the lomein. Overall it was a good lunch but definitely not worth $9.45. Other Chinese lunch plates in clarksville is in the $7 range. $10 isn't bad for lunch, but compared with the $7 lunch plate I could get from number 1 Chinese near exit 1 $6.85 or nine dragon on wilma or $7.29 or Sora near Dunbar cave road $6.50, I wont be driving to Madison for their lunch for $9.45. We LOVE this place. The owners are extremely nice and respectful. They put love into their food. It's always delicious. Portion sizes are kind of smaller than normal Chinese restaurants but the flavor and the service makes up for it. Definitely recommend trying the chicken lettuce wraps or orange chicken! read more

My boyfriend and I couldn't make up our minds of where to go on a busy Friday night. The place we were originally going to go didn't work out, and we were about to walk into Five Guys when we pulled up and saw "HK Wok". Considering we do all our grocery shopping at the Publix next door, I felt like a wizard when it seemed like this place appeared out of thin air. Since Five Guys is pricey for no reason, we decided to walk in and try it out. The guy working the cashier was extremely patient with us, as was the owner when she was explaining what she could do to make the perfect entree for me (I LOVE spicy). We have been to every generic chinese place and it is all the same. One word: WOW. Chinese food with a modern, tasty, and fresh twist is the only way to describe this place. Just-right portion sizes, fresh slices of carrots, plentiful amounts of baby corn.. I am absolutely blown away. Not your typical greasy chinese place. Over priced "Chinese" food, clearly cooked by white people with no taste buds. Being stuck inside during the CV19 crisis and a lot of our favorite restaurants closed, we needed to order in for some normalcy. We settled on Chinese food, and since this is the only Chinese restaurant open during this time, we took a chance. One that we don't be taking again. Portion sizes are small, roughly half of what you'd get from an actually Chinese restaurant. The order was missing items. But the worst thing of it all is that the food was just out right mediocre to bad, plus there was hair (plural) in my rice. After delivery fees, tip and tax, our order was about $70 and it tastes like the microwave entrees from the frozen food dept at Kroger... Do yourself a favor and order something else, or watch some YouTube videos on how to cook it yourself. Maybe they should watch some YouTube videos too. Lastly, I'm all for supporting our local businesses and trying to keep our restaurants open, but ones like this don't really deserve the business. read more

My favourite Chinese joint in Clarksville. Amazing food, the waiters are nice, and they recently did renovations so it looks even nicer than before. They have a bar now, which has more than beer and wine now. There's a door that leads directly to the bar for people who are just there to chill at the bar or for carry-outs. It IS a bit pricey, but I consider it well worth it. I'm a bit disappointed that more people don't eat here. read more

He told us that we could not bring our own water into the restaurant. I could see that there could be an issue if we brought a soda into the establishment. Best Chinese food in Clarksville for sure! Actually, it's really good overall and I've lived and eaten in major metro areas. We have eaten there several times and it's excellent every time. Tonight I had the Mongolian beef. Very tender, perfectly trimmed slices of beef. Sauce was delicious and flavorful and thankfully just onions. I can't stand when places put mushrooms in it. I've had Bento boxes there too. Very fun. Cheese Rangoon and shrimp tempura are also good. Hot and sour soup - best I've ever had. My husband gets the chicken noodle and said it was really good. It seems they really pay attention to the quality of their ingredients. Not your typical sticky, gummy Chinese food with gristle and over fried breading. Seems healthier than a lot of places. The fried rice is even lightly fried. If you like cocktails, they have a nice list. They have happy hour with cheap wine and beer and some cocktail choices. The environment is also very clean and upbeat. I like the music they play. Jeff Buckley was playing in there. Must be a pandora station. Really fun. The service is pretty good. Not excellent, but I'm ok with average service. It certainly wasn't bad. They just usually have young women serving who seem really tentative and shy, but polite. My only suggestion, if the managers see this, is to put honey chicken on the kid's menu. They have sweet and sour, so I don't see what the big deal would be for honey chicken. I asked if it would be ok and my server said no. I don't like being told a flat no for things that seem easy to accommodate. Unless she gets asked that question a lot, I felt she should have checked with the manager. We are regulars that buy cocktails and wine, usually get appetizers and soup. We're not cheap. Both the service and food were great. We were in at an off time - 3:00pm. We were greeted when we walked in the door and seated. Our server Whitney came over to the table and greeted us as if she was a friend. We started the cheese rangoons, they were light and crispy. I love this place for offering celiac/gluten friendly dishes. I love their coconut curry and it has never made me sick, I drive all the way from exit 1 side of town to eat her because of the great gluten free menu! Plus there are enough "regular" food choices to keep my husband happy and it's quiet not super packed and friendly . The service was great they were accommodating to our toddler in the party. Only suggestion for improvement : serve sauce with crab Rangoon's, it's weird to have to ask for dipping sauce for them and then it came in a Dixie cup. Other than that it was great! read more

Has been a customer of Hong Kong Wok since they were further down Madison St. in the strip mall next door to the no longer existent TCBY. While I no longer live on that side of town, and it is out of the way for me, but it's worth the drive. I usually call ahead for take-out. Great food at a reasonable price. I would have given 5 stars but, my favorite dish of combo fried rice includes shrimp that are not deveined. Which I personally find visually unappetizing. Ultimately, I'm forced to either throw the shrimp away or clean them myself first before I can eat my rice. Since I usually do not order other shrimp dishes, I do not know if this is the case with others. Perhaps they might consider upgrading the quality of shrimp to deveined? So, I was really excited and as soon as I walked in - it was beautiful. It was a small business and was not a chain, you could tell. The staff was so polite and it was only us two and an old couple eating there at lunchtime on a Saturday. I was epically excited to eat here. So the presentation is excellent. It's clean and well decorated and they deliver. Everything was lining up. The lunch specials are great - two appetizers and an entrée for like $6.99. My boyfriend got the hot and sour soup - which was delicious, and he got the lunch special of Chicken Lo Mein and chicken dumplings. The chicken dumplings were mediocre and but tasted good - they were fried which I wasn't too fond of but good nonetheless. I later went to an Asian grocery store and got dumplings and they tasted the same. Then I got my food. Like I said before - disappointment. It didn't even taste like Massaman/Coconut/Curry/Thai ... anything. It just tasted like they had thrown a whole bunch of different sweet and sour spices together to make something completely different from other Asian foods and to the unsuspecting taste buds it would have tasted OK - not to me. It was a very big disappointment. I ate about a quarter of it and then asked for a take home box and then threw it away. Only brightside - friendly staff and good sweet tea. They have at least 6-8 entrees that are part of their gluten free selection where they use Tamari in place of regular Soy Sauce. We had the Mai Fun with Chicken and Mongolian Beef with white rice. Both gluten free and delicious! The place is a small intimate dining room with soft music playing where conversation can be heard without yelling at each other.
