This spot was highly recommended by a local, and I'm so glad I went. The food, service, and ambiance are all solid. At noon on a Sunday, it was bustling, but luckily, there was a very short wait for a table. Our server, Antigone, was fantastic! She provided amazing recommendations, was extremely warm and friendly, and made our experience very pleasant despite the somewhat lengthy wait for our food. The food was well worth the wait. I thoroughly enjoyed my order of salmon croquettes with rice and a biscuit. My mate's Build-A-Breakfast order of scrambled eggs, hash browns, and chicken wings had some of the best-tasting wings that I have ever had in my life. When I return to Hive Cafe, I will absolutely order the chicken and waffles just so I can have an order of those wings to myself.

This place came across my feed and I decided to check it out and my flight got in from Tampa. They told me where I could sit and when I initially sat my stuff down, the chair was covered in dust. I moved to the seat across that was still a little dusty but not as much. The server came over immediately and gave me menus. I briefly saw the menu online but figured I'd do a once over before making my decision. I went with the build-your-own breakfast and got the eggs and potatoes with a biscuit and turkey sausage. Drink wise, I went with water and a strawberry-pineapple mimosa. The mimosa was so refreshing and I def. appreciated the pour after a stressful flight! It wasn't long until my food came out. I was a bit disappointed at the portion of the egg as they seemed almost too small for what I was supposed to receive. The peppers on the potatoes threw me off. I think I was expecting something different. Nevertheless, they were good but not what I had pictured. Surprisingly, the biscuit was the highlight of my meal. It was perfect! The turkey sausage tasted like regular turkey sausage, so nothing special there. Overall, my server was awesome and gave great service. While I enjoyed my visit, it would have been nice if there signs to let customers know they're under construction instead of walking into dust on the floor, chairs, and everywhere. Aside from that, I def intend on coming back!

Delicious, Delicious! Some of the best pancakes I've had in a long time and the Omelet had the right balance of egg and ingredients. Omelet with American, Yellow Onion, Spinach, Peppers and Pork Bacon had the perfect amount of veggies, meat to egg ratio. Cooked well and flavorful! The pancakes were fluffy and had a wonderful taste. Everything was hot and fresh! Friendly staff!

Nice cozy brunch spot. Stopped by with my wife for a new breakfast spot. The service was decent everyone was nice and service was fast. My wife got the build your own breakfast with the Chicken, scrambled eggs and white rice with a waffle on the side. I opted for the build your own omelet with bacon,sausage, white onions, pepper mix with American cheese. Also had a side of thier O'Brain Potatos with cheese. Everythings was amazing and the portions were a nice size.

I had a make your own omelette. This one had peppers, shrimp, onions and pepper jack cheese. Oh and spinach suggested by my server. Great suggestion! The place is a cute little place with breakfast, coffee and mamosas. Serice was great too. The only things ng that bothered me was the bathrooms and a few other things could be cleaner. I will be back. Go check it out!

While visiting St Louis I learned about a local small business called Hive Cafe . The menu had tons of brunch options . I decided to order the wings and waffles with butter grits on the side . The chicken was season so good , definitely my favorite. The service was fine , we were seated right away . But as we were leaving I notice all tables were filled . I plan on checking out this restaurant again

Very cute breakfast/brunch cafe and they're open on Mondays! I've taken a couple folks here and the food and service are excellent. I've tried the shrimp and grits, the french toast, and the chicken and waffles. All of it was delicious. They have mimosa options as well as a bar for mixed drinks. Parking is off street but shared with the local residents who live above the restaurant (that has to be unnecessarily tempting if you work from home!) Anywho, check them out. They manage mid size groups pretty well. I'll return!

We visited on a whim this past weekend and were completely amazed by this little gem. The staff were attentive and friendly. The chef cooked up a delicious breakfast. And the bartender absolutely nailed it. The vibe is open and inviting, good for small or large parties. We ordered a build a breakfast which allowed complete customization of the items and a breakfast bowl. The boozy holiday drink menu had so many options it was hard to choose one. Overall great experience and we will absolutely return!

The food here at the Hive Cafe is so good that I had to come back again lol. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a friendly face and the vibes were on point. The first time I visited I tried the Build-A-Breakfast and it comes with two sides, a choice of bread, and a choice meat. I had French toast (2 pieces come with it) and for my sides, I chose grits, bacon, and some breakfast potatoes. I also ordered a Dusse Punch for my drink and everything was so good! When I came back the 2nd time, I ordered the Fast Breakfast croissant, egg, and cheese. I added bacon to it and to drink I just ordered some apple juice. My food was delicious this time as well and my waitress both visits were super sweet.

This restaurant has been buzzing around me for months now so I was excited to to finally give it a try. It was the cutest little cafe!!! Cute little tables and chairs and a small bar seating area. Very well lit. They were pretty packed when we arrived but the wait wasn't too long for seating. The food was really really good minus the large amount of butter. I literally enjoyed every single bite. I'd actually rate the French Toast in the top 3 in STL. The eggs were fluffy and pancake nice and crispy. The severs were very tentative and I have no complaints. The only headache was the parking. Shout to the owner for jumping in to cook! Love to see it. I'll be back!

I normally wait until I've visited a place 3 times before I come to give my review but I'm familiar with the family and their establishments and the food at all of them is on point and Hive Cafe is no different. If you miss Goody Goody this is the spot to try. You can get breakfast or lunch and of course coffee drinks. I opted for the salmon patty breakfast with grits and eggs and was so happy. I met a friend for breakfast and she was so happy I introduced her to the spot because she wanted a place like this to enjoy a meal like that! It's a cute coffee shop type atmosphere perfect for a quick coffee catch up or a full meal with family. They have a counter and tables throughout which I think should be mandatory for breakfast spots. Service and friendly and prompt. read more

Me and My Boys stopped here today and it blew me away. From the food to the customer service. The vibes were there. Of course I had a mimosa and it was tasty. Our server was Deja, she was very sweet and attentive. I applaud her for her patience with us as well. It's also worth mentioning that their food had my pickiest eater cleaning his plate. Visiting the STL, looking for a local breakfast spot (not a national or regional chain). Actually found the Hive Cafe via a Yelp search. Upon arrival around 8am on a Saturday morning, found approximately 10 customers either eating or awaiting their breakfast. Was greeted with a welcoming smile by Kelly (who turns out to be the co-owner along with her husband Melvin? who was working magic in the kitchen). Ordered and thoroughly the Breakfast Bowl with a side of grits, but, regrettably, didn't have a big enough appetite to finish it all. A wonderful meal to start the day! If you're looking for a great meal, in a great location, owned and run by a great couple, do yourself a favor and check out the Hive Cafe! read more

I came to visit this place on Saturday Sept 6, 2025. Their wasn't no one at the to see how many people you have in your party, so I was told by another customer to go to the girl in the yellow shirt at the bar. I stood there for 10 mins waiting for her to recognize me and she never did, never said how may I help you, how many in your party are nothing she act like I was invisible...to where it pissed me off and me and my boyfriend left and went to first watch. This was very unprofessional and she and the rest of the staff caused money to walk right out the door. Now true it was very busy but it wouldn't a second to recognize the customer and say I will be with you in one moment. She never said anything and neither did the other one's that was behind the bar. I will not be back. First impressions are everything and this was a very bad one. So unorganized this place is. The owner should have a greeter to greet customers at the door. It ridiculous of how this business doesn't have good customer service. read more

Another thing I would like to add is the bill. My mom and I were offered onions and peppers in our potatoes and it wasn't on the menu about a up charge and the waitress didn't mention it either. And my aunt SPECIFICALLY said NO onions or peppers in her potatoes and when the bill came out she was charged for it even though she clearly didn't ask. My mom got charged twice for her omelette even though she ordered once. Highly disappointed in this business since it I saw that it was black owned. read more

The food was lacking to say the least. I had chicken waffle grits and home fries. The chicken was burnt and the potatoes had the same burnt taste. Grits were just ok and there was nothing special about the waffle. The service was good. Or server was attentive and welcoming the ambiance was cool but we left smelling like burnt grease. I would like to try again hopefully it was just an off day. read more

We went on a Saturday afternoon. The vibes were solid. Good music and friendly staff. Mary served us and she was very informative about the menu and was able to make us an espresso martini! We ordered some French toast -- BOMB. The biscuits and gravy --BOMB. The chicken breast, crispy and flavorful -- BOMB. The down side is our food did not come out all at once. I can say for certain this is my favorite brunch spot in the Ferguson - Florissant area right now. I'll be back here for sure. read more

The food was l good, the service improves while we were there. A little training goes a long way. As does properly sized container. I love the location. The inside looks like a traditional cafe. The menu is classic with a southern feel. We tried the salmon croquettes and they were amazing. I would highly recommend them. The staff were friendly and helpful with menu recommendations. It did take awhile for our food to come out but we weren't bothered by it as the venue has a very relaxing vibe. The food was great , however the service is sub par. My party of two waited for drinks over 20 mins and I lost track of time waiting for food. I had to request every little thing , like utensils , sugar and the correct side with my order. I gave my card to the waitress and had to retrieve it from her after she had closed my check, then got carried away with the next customer; like she forgot she had my card and we were looking at her ready to go. To top it all off I get home and look at my card transactions only to find out she rang me for $200.00 over the amount!!! I am livid and will only be returning to settle this matter. read more

5 stars for service alone. No fewer than 5 people checked on me and all were very friendly. Eggs and bacon cooked perfectly. Potatoes a little bland, but at least nothing gross mixed in (as in no green bell peppers) and cooked well. Decent French toast. Not that I wanted, needed, or ate most of it. Seemed a bit overpriced, but not really. When I found out I could have ordered without the French toast and they would have reduced the charge, I'm sure the price would have been appropriate for what I can eat. My server(s) were exceptional. read more

There were also 3 produce stands, and plant stand, and a catering company. If you have little ones with you, they have a booth for the kids to color and craft. Very cute if you're in the area!
