Great hotel option for those looking for comfort and excellent service; Holiday Inn Express is well…read moreworth it! Came here with my friend and her mother for a single night stay as part of a friend's wedding. I was surprised to see a Holiday Inn in this area since it isn't particularly populated, though I certainly appreciated it being here! The rooms are clean and well-appointed, and any amenity you might need is either already in the room or available at the front counter. I somehow managed to forget to bring an iPhone charger (arguably the most important thing you should bring on any trip) so I went up front to see if they had one on offer and, sure enough, they offered me one right away. I half-expected them to ask for my driver's license or at least room number before entrusting it to me, though they were super casual about it : "It's fine, you can bring it back whenever you're done with it!" Wow, that's a breath of fresh air! The complimentary breakfast here was very nice and had a variety of warm options (not just cold cereal or basic oatmeal like many hotels try to pass off as a meal), and I dutifully returned the charger to the front desk prior to departure, with them accepting it back as casually as they had issued it. Maybe that's more about the nature of people who live around here, though I appreciated it just the same! While I didn't use the pool on this occasion, it did look very appealing, as did the landscaping around the hotel. I was very pleased with my short visit here and would gladly do it again if offered the chance! Overall: 5.0 stars ---- Pros: - Excellent rooms with everything you'll need to keep you comfortable. - Clean rooms, common areas, and parking lot. - Pleasant (and trusting) staff. - Great continental breakfast, actually worthy of that title. Cons: - None. You pay more for Holiday Inn than you would elsewhere and for good reason: they provide great value and ensure you're well-rested and in a good mood for whatever rigors tomorrow holds for you!

I have stayed in many really good and even great hotels throughout my time as a comedian and I must…read moresay that the Hampton Inn Washington Courthouse in Jeffersonville, OH is my all time favorite. Firstly, this is the best and friendliest staff I have ever known. The GM is hilarious and made time to make sure everything was right in my room and even brought me goodies to snack on even though I couldn't- I'm on keto, but they were very tempting snacks. Ok, so let me tell you about the room. Girl, the room had the most perfect bed I have ever slept on. If I could have figured out a way to smuggle this bed out I would have. I'm kinda like the Goldilocks of hotel beds and this one was just right. So right in fact that when I went to lay down for just 5 min before unpacking my gear it sucked me in and I slept for 2 hours ! That never happens! The tv was actually larger than my 50 inch at home and had great channels. This one hotel has messed up my entire theory of hotel cable. Maybe it's an anomaly, but in all the years I have been traveling for my career the equation has been the better the hotel is the shittier the cable. Well thanks for proving me wrong this time, Hampton Inn! The room itself was excellent. They gave me a handicap accessible room on the first floor and it was the first room when one walks in- as all handicapped rooms should be. Why most hotels put them so far down the hallways I'll never know. This one did it right. Getting a late checkout wasn't an issue, either. In fact they offered it to me. The best part of my stay had to be the giant picture of cows behind the front desk welcoming me into the hotel. Yes, cowss. I love cows and the cow picture just made me smile as I avoided the fresh, hot cookies. Corporate, leave that cow pic alone! Thank you so much, Hampton Inn! I will stay here next time I'm anywhere close.

We did not eat at the restaurant or go to the bar because the bar closes at nine. The outdoor pool said it was heated, but it was very cold. Outdoor pool did look very nice. I had a first floor room right by the pool and you could see the lake, which was a very pretty view. It was nice to be able to walk to the lake and I like the fact that the resort had swinging benches the indoor pool was also cold and you could tell it had a lot of chlorine in it. The hot tub is small. It was always crowded. I did see a beaver and a deer on the property, which was very cool. We did do some of the hiking trails. They were not well maintained. I don't know that I would come back again until it's been renovated, but it was a decent stay.

What you can expect: - 20-30 minutes waiting in line at the front desk (not just at check in) - If you arrive early, do not expect the option of storing your bags at the front desk - Freezing cold outdoor pool - no heat whatsoever - broken down lounge chairs poolside and crumbling concrete - Don't bother with the indoor pool of your looking for heat, it's cold too - The indoor Hot-tub is packed due to no heated pools - The arcade is not operating. But don't expect a sign to tell you this. The front desk lets you know that you're out of luck - Don't be fooled by the beautiful, brand new, entrance. Once you get inside it's a nightmare. - we all had tummy troubles after eating dinner at the restaurant, Rafters. All items we ordered were either overcooked or undercooked. Nothing was worth the price tag or was enjoyable. - The waitress at restaurant was wonderful and working hard - she was the only one there. - We took our two small kids for a hike on the trail closest to the lodge and turned back halfway in due to a strong odor of marijuana - The hallways are lined with trash bags. They sit there all day. - Multiple areas are under construction. -The room was dirty, including the bed sheets. - There are several exposed wires in the room near the ground - not safe for young children. The website says newly renovated rooms, and they have a couple of new features like a faux wood wall behind the tv and mirror in the bathroom. It's a bandaid to the mess and filth that is all around. We decided to turn back and drive the 3 hours home due to all of the above. The thought of sleeping in that dirty room, with dirty sheets was nauseating. Scratch this one off of your list and never look back!

This with a check in window between 4pm and 6pm. We wanted to just toodle along and make it within that window but felt pressured to be more exact. When we arrived I asked when breakfast was served and was told 9 am. Period. No window this time, no asking what time would be best for us, just 9am. Admittedly we did not push back. Our host didn't ask if we had any food allergies nor were we given any choices whatsoever. We stayed in the Presidents room, comfortable bed, nice linens, very tiny shower with nowhere to even lay a washcloth. We heard traffic all night even with white noise on our phone. sigh A Keurig is available if you want coffee in the morning before 9am but Maxwell House only. sigh Breakfast was what appeared to be brewed coffee but was probably Maxwell House again, (no tea offered), mixed berries in cream, French toast with real maple syrup, link sausages (which I don't eat) orange juice(which I don't drink). The host proceeded to sit on a sofa in the breakfast nook and we felt we needed to strike up a conversation with him. This wouldn't have been quite so odd if he had ever introduced himself. sigh I wouldn't mind if this didn't cost us $228 for one night, a Thursday night. There are other choices in the area. My suggestion would be to try another B&B or a hotel.

My family and I booked the room specifically so our children could enjoy the pool over the weekend. We are local, so the pool was the only reason for our stay. When we arrived, the front desk staff completed the check-in process and only afterward informed us that the pool was closed. Had we been told this before checking in, we would not have proceeded with the reservation at all. Because the pool was unavailable, we stayed in the room for less than an hour while trying to resolve the issue. The front desk told us they could not cancel since the booking was through Expedia, so we contacted Expedia directly. Expedia reached out to the hotel, but the hotel declined to issue a refund even though we did not stay and primary amenity we booked for was unavailable. Charging nearly $300 for a stay we could not use is unfair, especially when the lack of disclosure prevented us from making an informed decision. We would have never checked in had we been told the pool was closed. I have stay at this hotel many of times and have never had issue this time however was different. The pool was the reason i left however, i was upset already because when we arrived she said there was a 250 deposit which I have never had to pay all the other time we stayed and she was going to cancel then and I said no ill figure it out however if she would have informed me the pool was close before checking us in I would have let her canceled. The woman wasnt friendly either. I was also informed they are under new management. Explains why it is going downhill.

I have also slept in an M-115 for 40 days, various tents and barracks around the world. So I think I can bring a fair perspective on the conundrum of Country Hearth. There is an intersection where price meets value. That is different for everyone based on their economic history/current situation and their experiences. For example at one point in my life I had never had wine from a bottle with a real cork or that cost more than $10 dollars. So the first time I had some $50 wine (rich college friends parents house) I was suitably impressed. Now that I have had a broad range of wines, in several countries the consistent, tastes good to me is Yellowtail (as little as $5 at Walmart). I have seen those videos where they fool wine experts...I am no expert. I'm sure some snob will scoff "Yellowtail is swill, I only drink Chateau Blah Blanc 1987". My point still holds that there is this point where price meets "good enough" and you walk away happy. We (I), didn't walk away happy. The good things; the desk guy (and everything else it seemed) was polite, capable and effective, there was a roof and a shower, the toilet flushed. The bad things. It is unfair to list them all. I was going to write them down while we were there (a quick overnight for a HS graduation). There was no little pad of paper and cheap bic pen [a deficiency in a $80 room]. So you get the idea. Along with the run down, overall beat up aspect of the property there are the little things that you can forgive at a $30 Rt 40 middle of nowhere roadside "motel" with some ironic name like the Dew Drop Inn. You don't expect a head sized drywall impact in a main stairwell wall. [what does that take to fix $10 and 30 min?] at the $80 price point. We got bonus leftover underwear in a dresser- not folded neatly by the way... Indulge me please. Making America great again has very little to do with bellicose jerk behavior in domestic policy, nor storming about on the world stage like a petty, scared and declining Empire. A great America begins right in little towns like this. In that great America Country Hearth is clean, well maintained, a small local business that everyone can be proud of instead of the "looks good in Trivago results" ruse that it sadly is.

The lady at the desk tried telling me that the broken bed was an accessibility feature!! Nice try lady. I'm disabled, not stupid. She gave me a regular room, which hadn't been properly cleaned in weeks. At least the bed was ok. Next morning I went to open my door and the handle came off in my hand. Oh.....it also smelled wired. I would suggest NEVER staying here.
