Very nice place to stay. Very quiet and large rooms. There is a decent size mini fridge in room. Comfortable beds! There are individual thermostats in each room. Only downsides we found was there were no dressers, nowhere to put anything in the shower (ie caddy or shelves) and there wasn't much room/any vanity space in the bathroom to put anything. We stayed in room 100 which is one of their smaller rooms (but still quite big for a small room). Definitely recommend if you are staying in the area.

The inn is impressive. Great stay in basement suite. Faint footsteps overhead. Would stay again.

I stay at a lot of these business class hotels around the country so based on the rate and…read moreaccommodations here I will compare it to the Hyatt Place and Marriott Courtyard. I stayed here for 2 nights while visiting an old friend who is a native and long term-resident of Urbana. In sum, staying here is better than a Comfort Inn, Motel 6, or Quality Inn, but not as nice as a Hyatt Place or Marriott Courtyard but they are charging the same rate: 1. It was fine for 2 nights--I really would not want to stay here much longer and if I return to Urbana would look for another place to stay unless their rates were significantly reduced. . 2. Upon check-in and during the stay my interaction with staff was fine--they were not overly welcoming when I arrived, but not super-friendly either. 3. Overall, the room was pretty clean, but I did find one errant hair in the shower and the the shower curtains had a little bit of dark at the bottom edges? A little dirty? 3a. The room was set up for efficiency which I liked a lot. 4. The main problem in the room was the shower operations--during three showers--one of them at 2 am when presumably few are using the hotel water, it was impossible to get the shower temperature to stay on my setting--it kept on going to hot or cold and required constant adjustment during the shower. 5. Most of the towels were good quality, but a few I had to set aside because of too much wear. They graciously gave me extra towels at the desk and I liked that. 5a. They do not make up or clean your room until the 3rd night unless you ask and I did not need it on this stay. 6. I did like that they had shower soap bars as I cannot properly clean with the liquid. 6a. The toilet seat is the very thin plastic type that when you lean a bit to one side snaps off the bowl edge like you are going to fall off if you know what I mean? You have to maintain your balance on the seat to prevent that from happening. 7. The King mattress was comfortable enough for a couple or nights, but not one I would sleep on full time at home. Same with the pillows--fine for 2 nights. 8. I am used to a heavier down comforter, and theirs was a bit thin for me, but fine for 2 nights. 9. The place seemed safe, in a safe area of town--definitely get out and see the downtown Urbana--they have some good restaurants and antique stores--great to walk around and meet the locals like I did. 10. The real fall-down at this hotel at this price range is the free breakfast--it's awful--it's the 2nd worst I have seen at a free breakfast hotel in 20 years. Plan on going into town for your breakfast--there are some good places. At this price point--this breakfast should have been much much better and comprehensive. In sum, no one is going to have a bad stay at this hotel, but no one is going to have a great stay at this hotel. It's mid-range, mediocre due to all the things I listed above. It's a $100 a night hotel in 2024 prices, charging much more than that like it's a Hyatt or Marriott, so it's over-valued--especially with such a poor breakfast. Sorry that I could not file a better a report because I liked Urbana a lot.

Breakfast was the typical hotel breakfast buffet and in Urbana -- that's better than most restaurants in the area. :) I didn't have any issues either time I stayed there. Parking let well lit. Safe area. No need to call for any services. If I had to list a complaint...it took the desk clerk a couple of minutes to get to the desk at check-in. She was busy talking to a co-worker in an office close to the desk. I don't know if it was personal or professional-- but either way I waited a little longer than I felt I should've. No big deal. Glad to have a clean place to lay my head!! Would certainly recommend Cobblestone HOtel & Suites.

I stayed here several days over the course of two weeks while in town for work. This is probably 1…read moreof 3 hotels in the entire town. At first it seemed cozy. It seems fairly clean, but definitely could use some improvement. The rooms are shabby, the fixtures, furniture, appliances are all old. There seems to generally be only one staff person on-site who is responsible for pretty much everything: laundry, housekeeping, desk attendance. That is understandable considering that the hotel is small and pretty dead with mostly truckers and construction workers staying there. There were no security measures on the main doors. I stayed here several days and what irritated me was that the ice machine broke and no one bothered to place an out-of-order sign on it or seemed to even care. There were two vending machines, both completely empty. There was a supposed complimentary breakfast, which they could have kept to themselves. Stale bagels/honey bun was pretty much what that consisted of. Also there were random gnats in the rooms sometimes even though there was no food left out. They just appeared. The staff was so-so. one of the ladies was super-pleasant and accommodating, not sure if she was a manager. There were two other females that I encountered who gave off the vibe that I was bugging them if I asked for anything, which I had to do quite often considering that everyday my key card would deactivate and I'd have to go to the desk to get reactivated. The first time it happened i was told it was because there had been a power outage earlier that day. One time I had to stand at the desk and wait about 10 minutes because the only staff on duty (apparently) was down the hall/upstairs cleaning a room. The staff could usually be found sitting outdoors smoking when not at the front desk or attending to other duties. When it was time for me to check-out for good, they for some strange reason were unable to print my receipts and claimed they would mail them to me (yeah right). I ended up calling back and telling them that I needed the receipts before leaving town and would be in to pick them up later. When I went back they handed me a bunch of pages and said they had to print each day individually although the reservation was for an entire week. This explains why I had to reactivated my key card everyday, I was being checked out and re-checking in everyday. The were also tacky handwritten signs taped all over the lobby desk and even on the front door. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend staying here for more than a day or two. I was actually in town for several weeks, but ended up finding a hotel in the next town over because I just couldn't stay here anymore :-( Two stars because it wasnt a complete dump. It could actually be somewhat decent if the staff/management improved.

First of all this is a 2-star motel (in the Motel 6 class or Econo Lodge, not a Best Western or a…read moreLa Quinta class), so I am reviewing it as such. Bearing this in mind, the room was clean, as was the bathroom and shower. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure (just a shower stall, no bath tub). I stayed Friday night, before heading back to Columbus. Got a non-smoking single bed room -- bed was full size and comfortable. The heat was turned off when I walked in (makes sense; heating is expensive and the room had been empty) and the room felt cold. The room heated up quite quickly once I turned the heater on. The heater was an Amana heater/air conditioner, typical in such hotels. Digital output let's you set the temperature. Quite loud when the fan was going (even on low), but not too loud to disturb my sleep. The bed was comfortable enough; I got a good night's rest. Staff was very pleasant. As I came in a woman was standing outside, talking on the phone, she opened the door for me and followed me in. Turned out she was working behind the desk. Acted pleasant, despite interrupting her phone conversation. Called me "hon" (always a plus in my book) and engaged in pleasant chit-chat. When I mentioned the check out at 11AM sign (it was 10pm at checkin) she said I could take my time -- just let her know in the morning. I asked about an AARP rate and got it. The AARP rate was reasonable ("rack rate" was a bit steep for this kind of accommodation). My expectations re breakfast were level set, by the prior post, so I was pleasantly surprised. There was orange juice, There were 3 kinds of dry cereal (the cheerioes were low on sugar, which I appreciated) and milk. There was some fruit (which I did not try: apples and oranges). The bagels I stayed away from, after taking one look. The coffee was mediocre at best, but tasted better after putting milk in it. Hey, at least it's coffee (if you're of the opinion that life is too short for bad coffee, I suggest you go into town to get a cup). The person who checked me in was at the desk again, in the morning. Again pleasant, and again called me hon. If I'm ever in Urbana overnight again, I'll gladly stay in this motel.

Opting for the loft suite next to the main Jailhouse, we got settled in after re-reading the easy-to-follow instructions from our hosts. The loft features high ceilings and my wife compared it to staying in a treehouse. The room was immaculate and had several amenities, like a coffee pot and a microwave, so one could enjoy breakfast in-house if that was in your plans. There's also an adorable breakfast nook under a window looking out over the trees. Yellow Springs, Ohio is certainly my kind of quirky and lived up to expectations. From Jailhouse, it's a short walk, say five minutes, down to the heart of the town, and the famed Little Miami trail. This is a perfect location for those hoping to enjoy what the town has to offer. Affordable, convenient, and excellent service from the proprietors. Highly recommended.

My husband and I wanted to spend a quiet evening in Yellow Springs…read more He heard about this place and read great reviews. Plus it is very historical. When we pulled up, we were amazed how beautiful this building is. The landscape was gorgeous(they have a garden area) and love the color of the building. The owner was great with communication, paid credit card over the phone and did not have to check in through a lobby/front desk, put in a code on the front door. That easy. We got the suite which was on the top floor. We walked in and loved it. It was newly renovated and really clean. Awesome decor. It did not feel like a hotel. There was a kitchen, (pots pans, utensils refrigerator, filtered water) and a keurig coffee maker (which is a bonus), widescreen tv (in living room and bedroom), dining area, extra toiletries if needed, extra towels, and building is solar energy My only con was the bed was not comfortable and the hot water did not stay long if you wanted to take a bath. I would highly recommend this place if you would like to stay in Yellow Springs. Only minutes away from downtown.

It was clean, safe, and close to downtown. I was looking forward to the s'mores around the fire ring and the friendly proprietors I had read about, but I guess those are long gone. There's nobody on site to help with anything. Check in was confusing, as we didn't receive an email with our code. We arrived at 5 pm, but still had trouble getting somebody on the phone to assist us. There are no amenities, including ice. They point out the dumpster on property, so I guess there's that. For the price, this should be a nicer motel. I'll stay elsewhere in the future.
