Oh Kotteri... you did so many things right and I'm a big fan. We were in Paris for 4 nights and…read moretried Kotteri on the third night. If we have discovered Kotteri on the first night, I bet we would've been back again. It's this little teeny tiny ramen shop that has a line out its door every time we pass by (when it's open). I will also note that the night we did try Kotteri, which was an early week night, every single restaurant around that area were empty or close to empty. But Kotteri had a long line out its door. That says something! So we have seen these type of ramen shop before. Super tiny sitting place. A very simple menu. Super fast and efficient operations. Very very yummy broth and perfectly cooked noodles. Check, check, check... and check. Kotteri is the real deal here. You can see the chef, standing in front of this big pot of soup broth, tasting every once in a while... literally a small ladle of broth from the pot, transfer to his spoon. Taste the spoonful of broth. Rinse with glass of water to reset his taste bud. Add spices if necessary to the broth. Retaste, rinse, and repeat. It was awesome watching him while we waited patiently in line. When it was close to our turn to be seated, we were already armed with a menu. The server took us to a little tiny table (squeeze between the 'noodle bar' and line of people waiting). We got the shoyu tonkatsu ramen and the miso tonkatsu ramen (add extra pork, egg, and 'regular' on fat) with a side of gyoza. Everything was super tasty. Ok, it may not be the best bowl of ramen I've ever had, but it's pretty darn close. Definitely a fan!

So when rating foods that are not French in France, it's hard to be unbiased between the scale of…read more"good for France" versus "great ramen." I guess when being in France, the last thing one would expect is for them to have decent ramen. Well, was a bit surprised here once again; however, I may have a bias. Items ordered: Chasiu miso ramen "kotteri" (the restaurants standard fatness level) - 4 stars. There are tons of reviews that the broth is overly salty. And, as a person that's tasted ramen in both Japan and America, I want to say that YES, the BROTH ITSELF without any noodles is DEFINITELY on the saltier side that I have had in a LONG time. However, you have to remember, that when you're eating the noodles, the extra salty broth actually makes the noodles soak up the perfect amount of saltiness. Many times, I've been frustrated at Ramen places for lacking the sodium, as the broth alone would be good, but not stick to the noodles. So, yeah, the key is, it's a great amount of sodium if you're slurping the noodles, but definitely not if you're just sipping spoonfuls of the broth. Shoyu chasiu Rammen "Assari" (low fat broth) - 4 stars. I love that this place gives you an option to choose the fatty level of your broth. I personally prefer broth's that are clean and not too concentrated with oil, that the surface dries up and freezes leaving that clear film. The "assari" still had quite a significant amount of fat. It was delicious still. A solid 4 stars. Would I come back? In France, this might be as good as it gets, so yes. I've had my share of better, but this was good enough. Went at 11:30a.m. right after opening and there was no wait or line outside. It's extremely hot inside, so I suggest you prepare yourself to be sweating.

My friend were lucky enough to dine here without a wait! The other day we came back and there was a…read morewait for 1 hour which is insane. This place does seafood broth based ramen and I could not wait to try it. First off the decor is very unique. It looks like you just stepped into a outdoor Japanese seafood market with fish, eel, crab hanging around (fake of course). We sat down and ordered right away since we were both starving. As an appetizer I got the edamame which was steamed fresh with flakes of salt. Very delicious. I got the lobster bisque based ramen. It was very rich with great flavors. It came with sliced duck breast, citrus flavored scallop, a soy sauce egg and other veggies. One of the most flavorful ramens I've ever had. I enjoyed every bite and slurp of it! My friend got the sardine shoyu ramen which came with two slices of sardines. He enjoyed this as well. We were very happy with our meals and the staff was so nice! One of my favorite meals I had in Paris for sure.

Did not think I would love a fish-based broth as much as I loved it here. I had friends who claimed…read morethis was the best meal they had in Paris. I found that hard to believe until I tried it myself -- maybe one of the best ramens I've ever had in my life. The initial plan wasn't to come here, but since a lot of restaurants are closed on Mondays, we decided to give this a shot. Surprisingly, there was no line or wait at 5pm. We were seated immediately at this Tsukiji fish market-themed restaurant. Crazy how realistic the decor is and actually teleports you to Japan. You can see all the consideration that was put into the detailing of this establishment -- huge tuna on the table, the piles of insulated foam containers, hanging squid, and even the residual "puddles of water" on the table. We ordered the Sardine Shoyu (the classic) and Sardine Bomb (the strongest). Opted for chef style, which is a few euros more, but added extra protein such as an egg and chicken/pork chashu. Both took a bit of time to come out, but let me tell you -- it was absolutely worth it. The broth was rich, umami and not too fishy. The sardine bomb is a bit of a thicker and more potent broth, but wasn't overpowering at all. The noodles were wavy and chewy (maybe buckwheat?). Each bowl was loaded with tender pieces of protein that tied together seamlessly with the broth and noodles. We left more than satisfied from this meal, but will definitely think about this bowl on a regular basis. Well-deserved recognition!
