Not my personal experience with a dress, but I overheard a friend on the phone with Lula. The…read morefriend had bought her daughter's prom dress in January from Lula's and was told that it would take 1 week for alterations. Thought it would be done with plenty of time to spare before prom. In April, a week and a half before prom, it still wasn't done. I have honestly never heard a more rude business owner on the phone speaking to a customer. It took a full 5 minutes for Lula and other store employees to even locate the dress after being given the name of the customer and a description of the dress. She kept making excuses for why the alterations weren't done, saying she had so many dresses to alter that they alter them in order of prom date. That's why this dress was bought in January, to avoid the prom rush! She also could not give an estimated time that the dress would be done, just kept saying "not this week, I'll get to it next week"- the week of prom. Not only did Lula not follow through on the work that was supposed to be done, but she was extremely rude and condescending when she was questioned about it. I will not ever be using this business and I will steer everyone I know clear from it as well. Completely unprofessional.

Ok, ladies, if you're like me--40-ish, have young (I mean YOUNG) children, try to take care of…read moreyourself and care how you look (as well as how you come across to others), Lavish is the place to shop! I discovered this gem of a store in Collierville and can't stop visiting every chance I get. My first visit was greeted by Lana and she helped me "find my groove". While I know what I like and what usually works for me, my past decade of local shopping has kept me mostly in Marshall's and TJ Maxx for slightly higher end designer clothing at reasonable prices--when i could find it. I'm sorry but i can be a bit of a clothing snob because I don't like to buy cheaply made clothing when I know I can find better quality made clothes for the same price or slightly higher price. After my youngest child hit 2 yo and I could start taking care of myself a bit, I began to branch out to taking in a few other stores in the Germantown/Collierville area to update my look a bit. The stores I checked out were either a bit too young for how I wanted to dress or a little "too out there" and/or bling-y for my tastes. Then I found Lavish. Everything in the store is tasteful, fabulously fashionable without being too trendy (ahem, rhinestones are not the main draw, thank goodness), and befitting for where I am in my life. Now that I'm in my early 40's and comfortable with who I am, this boutique gives me the extra confidence boost. I have been getting tons of compliments with every piece from this place and everything coordinates well with items I already own. If you feel like you're missing out because there is no Bloomingdales, Saks, NM, or Nordstrom, think again. This place has it covered and I am never shy about checking out the sales rack (many pieces are in the back) to make sure I can max out my purchases. (Forgot to add this review which I had written back in early 2013. My initial visit was October, I believe, of 2012. My mother-in-law always gets me Lavish gift certificates for my birthday now.)

From the owner: What little girl doesn't like to play dress-up?…read more As far back as I can remember, I have been infatuated with clothes and fashion. I love the way you feel when you know you look your best! I can already see that same spark in my daughter's eyes. My passion was further fueled while living in LA. Cutting edge fashions were all around me and I became consumed with the latest trends. In my earlier days as a career woman, I found myself shopping at boutiques and buying higher end fashions. When I began having children, I found myself on a budget and shopping more and more at stores that have a dollar isle when you walk thru the door. My friends and I were all wearing the same clothes. I was frustrated with the lack of options there are for women on a budget or who are just savvy shoppers. It is my hope that my boutique has bridged that gap and allows women to buy brand name fashions while not breaking the bank.
