Veggie Hand Roll $4. Tofu, avocado, Asian pear with rice wrapped in nori. The reason I want to come back for more!
    Rachel Ann C.

Walking along a fine Sunday morning at the Walnut Creek farmers market, I had my bags in hand ready to go and decided to grab a quick snack before heading out. Hiroshi's Catering caught my eye--they're usually here but I've never really given them a good look. I didn't want to spend too much money so I immediately looked at their cheapest offering. Hand Rolls: $4. They were out of 2/3 of their offerings and had their Veggie Hand Roll at the end of the day (doesn't bother me since I don't eat much meat!). It had tofu, avocado, Asian pear and rice wrapped in nori. I handed the guy my $4 and the man wrapping the food made it on the spot. I walked away and said thank you. I later took a moment to look at it. It was good in size and looked very pretty. I took a bite and was in foodie love! The ingredients are very clean and simple--they don't drown it in some teriyaki sauce for flavor. The ingredients stand out and that Asian pear surprise amidst the tofu and avocado was just lovely. A textured and satisfying finish. Just one bite made me immediately look up their business here on Yelp and see where I can catch them next... If I could get my hands on their veggie hand rolls again, I'd be one happy gal.

This review was long over due. Chef Aaron catered my housewarming party in SF and I can't recommend him enough for anyone who would like to throw a big party but doesn't want to slave in the kitchen and actually interact with the guests. Since we had 2 kids and they put a damper on our social life, my husband and I enjoy bringing the party to our home instead of eating out. We've hired quite a few caterers in the area and Hiroshi's and chef Aaron offer one of the most unique experiences while serving delicious and fresh food. He and his server showed up on time, set up a sushi bar on our kitchen island and prepared appetizers, hand rolls and ramen to order. Everyone enjoyed the food and when he had some fish left over at the end of the party, he made extra rolls which was very nice of him. He also left the kitchen cleaner than it was before he came.

The bank I bank with hosts dinners every once in a while and Hiroshi catered two of the dinners I attended. Sushi is very good - as seen on the menus I've uploaded - Hiroshi only uses locally sourced and sustainable fish/ingredients, the ingredients are also paired perfectly. I would definitely consider using Hiroshi for catering if I were to host a small event. The two dinners I attended each had 12 people and service was a bit on the slower side, however this is understandable as Hiroshi does everything on the spot to maintain the utmost quality.

4.5 stars in my mind...but that's me nitpicking. Anyway, I was at the farmers' market in San Ramon today and decided to check out Hiroshi's. There wasn't much on their menu as they only offer a limited selection of sushi (cut roll - $7, hand roll - $4), tonkotsu ramen ($8), or the chicken katsu sandwich ($8). I ultimately ended up with the chicken katsu sandwich made with organic chicken, japanese slaw, organic cucumber, citrus mayo, on a ciabata roll. Overall, this sandwich was really tasty! The chicken was moderately sized, moist (but not greasy), and had a nice crispy exterior. Very well executed. As stated in some of my other reviews, I'm rather critical when it comes to bread used in a sandwich. To me, the right bread can save an otherwise ordinary sandwich but a poor choice of bread cannot save an otherwise amazing sandwich. Ciabata was definitely the way to go. I think the rest of the items (cucumber, slaw, citrus mayo) were intended to brighten up the flavor of the sandwich but I would like a little more contrast. Maybe add a little more of that japanese slaw. And it would be nice to have the option of getting a spicy sandwich. But really, that's me nitpicking. Hiroshi's did a wonderful job and I really enjoyed my sandwich! I look forward to returning.

Had their Chicken Katsu Bowl at the Speed Power Strength gym for a PowerPoint meet. Everything from the crispness and juicy chicken to the perfectly pickled veggies. Everything was a 10.

I wish they offered more stars..this was so much fun and great learning experience and great quality sushi. Aaron Thorne was our chef and he was so awesome he taught us how to make a roll from scratch. I would recommend this to everyone and would love to do couple sushi class very soon.

Excellent, excellent, excellent. Aaron catered a private dinner for my family. Super fresh and meticulously prepared sushi, sashimi and ramen, and best of all, not having to taking a step outside our home. What more can you ask for? My family and I are very particular and picky about our sushi including one member who used to be a chef at a Japanese restaurant. Needless to say, we were all beyond impressed.

Hiroshi catering has a stand at walnut creek farmers market. I got the marinated tofu tomato basil cut roll which was $7 and pretty tasty. Wait was about 15-20 min for the food. They have 2 small tables set out in front but I opted for the curb behind the stand in the shade. I saw many people getting ramen afterwards which looked pretty good. I'll have to try that next time. Only suggestion I have for business is give an approximate wait time so people can enjoy the market and come back to pick up stuff
