A staple in Jackson Michigan. Has been forever. Best donuts you'll ever have! Hands down... No place comes even close to the goodness you'll get from this iconic place. read more

Best chocolate donuts ever! This food memory is one that will never die for me. My mom would take us to a liquor store that carried Hinkley's chocolate and white frosting donuts after church on Sundays. I think that is how she got us to agree to go to church, the donuts. I have not lived in Michigan for over 35 years but I will never forget how good they tasted. I wish they delivered I would be a regular. Last time I was in Jackson I thought I would go and buy some donuts but they were sadly closed upon arrival. read more

So I agree with all the previous reviews. Excellent doughnuts, weird hours. The location isn't all that bad, its just typical non-downtown jackson. I thought I would post the hours( at least I hope that these are still the hours) since they are not typical. I would recommend getting there in the early morning, there are lines sometimes and little is left towards the end of the operational hours. Hours Wed-Sat 5:15 am - 1:00 p.m. read more

Anything less than a 5 star is an insult. Not the best workers all the time but dang if it isn't the best donut you've ever had. The all white box gets any room stirring because they know that's the Hinkleys signature read more

Not really sure what I can add to all these amazing reviews? Ok... I am never shy about voicing my opinion :) Suzanne M. hit all the parts that add the unique features of this "Icon" Jackson establishment. But let me go a little farther... we live in South Carolina and come to visit family and well "Hinkley's" yep it was the second place I went after arriving in Jackson last week! I am pretty sure I could smell them frying when I hit the city limits... okay maybe that is an exaggeration but maybe not... These are some of the best donuts I have had in the world and I am not exaggerating about that! Thank you to my Mother inlaw and brother inlaw for introducing me to my new waste line and of course to Hinkley's!!! read more

I've experienced their perfect baked goods for almost 50 years!! Living out of town for half that time, I still returned for that bakery deliciousness every chance I can!! read more

Simply the best doughnuts. Quirky hours and small town atmosphere are a bonus. Chocolate covered cream filled long johns. Trust me. read more

This place is a joke. The donuts ARE NOT that good. Also for those that think this place is so great and the donuts taste so good maybe it's because the cockroaches running around are leaving there special seasoning on everything. Yes I seen roaches. /yuck this place is just dirty. Will never eat from that place. read more

I have never had another bakery item I like as much as the ones baked by the Hinkley family bakery. I am not someone who seeks a good bakery or sweets, but I sure like theres!!! read more

While staying in the Jackson area during the July 4 weekend we chose to try this place (due to the amazing reviews). We were not disappointed. These are the best donuts on planet earth. Flat out incredible, and F - R - E - S - H. Located in an old building, the service was amazing and with a smile. You will not be disappointed !!!! read more

Absolutely, hands down, the best donuts in this area and any surrounding areas. Some of the workers are grouchy, but I guess the donuts make up for it. Must be magic because my grandma doesn't even eat donuts, but she can't pass up a Hinkley. read more

I love HInkley's doughnuts!! It's no suprise they have such a great following. They have sellers all over the county. Out on us12 towards chelsea there's a little coffee 'shop' that sells their tasty treats, and gas stations all over town use them, and only them. Which helps, because, well, their hours are a bit odd. If you're awake at 5am and have time, they're worth a wait in line! read more

I have never actually been to Hinkley's, even having grown up in Jackson. Every year for lent, I convince an old high school friend to pick up an order of Paczki's and ship them to me...in California. No joke. They are the best I have ever had and would no doubt show up there if I am ever in town! It's hard to find the hours online but they are Wed - Sat 5:15 am - 1:00 pm. read more

Best around! You will not be disappointed. Plenty of variety and always fresh. Support local, support Hinkleys!

Doughnuts here are very good. I love eating there doughnuts, it's the best part of Saturday morning. Last time I got some they were so good that I had a muscle spasm and dropped my phone screen first onto the hard wood floor. Doughnuts are to kill for everytime I eat one I don't just have a mini orgasm I straight out blow my load. Would recommend them anyday. read more

Best Donuts Ever! However, I do wish the Storefront & the inside were updated. It seems a little dirty, too. I still give this place 5 stars though, because I won't eat donuts from anywhere else! read more

excellent donuts the ladies are pleasant and fast service is always a plus cash only is understandable

Everything is delish here but my fave is the blueberry filled bismarck with blue frosting on top. . . Delish!!

Amazing bakery! We love Hinkley's! We even gave doughnut holes away at our wedding as a take home favor.

Best donuts in the state of Michigan. Period . Haven't found anything like this place !

Love the donuts even though we only get them on special occasions but still so yummy.

A favorite of everyone who lives here. You can't go wrong with hinkleys donuts. They have a nice selection of pastries and fair priced.

Absolutely hands down the most delicious. Fast friendly service. Donuts are warm and always fresh.

If you're in the mood for the best donut if you've ever had, Hinkleys is the place to go. No seriously, it's the best donut you'll ever enjoy! read more

I'm not usually a big donut fan, but I wanted to see what all the hype was about. OMG!! The cherry cake doughnut holes were so addictive that I ate 4 on the 2 mile drive back home. The cream filled long John was filled with so much yummy goodness that there was a gob of cream with every bite. The hype was well founded for sure. read more

I have been to countless other states and a handful of other countries and nothing compares to this place. I am currently in town visiting from Fort Hood, TX, and made a mission of securing some delicious breakfast from here this morning. I HIGHLY recommend the apple fritters!!! :) read more

Hinkley Bakery - Bakeries Near Me - Jackson, Michigan

Hinkley;s bakery is the Best as owner operator with a big rig I've been to bakeries all over the country nothing even comes close to Hinkley bakery, its only couple blocks from Downtown Jackson but its well worth it to enjoy , the fresh donuts or pastries they sell.. And the bread is so enjoyable.. read more

While I've never stepped foot in the actual establishment, I can say these are the best doughnuts I've ever had. My last boss used to bring them in to work on the occasional friday. Now that he has moved on to another company, I miss these treats. They are everything that a doughnut should be. I may have to plan a trip to Jackson specifically for these, it would be worth the 30-40 min drive, definitely worth it! read more

I recently moved to St. Louis and have yet to find a doughnut bakery like this one. One of the very few things I miss about Jackson. These doughnuts are to die for! However the hours are very strange. Closed on sun mon and tues which doesn't make much sense.. I'm sure lots of other families like mine would have loved to come here for doughnuts after Sunday church. It doesn't take away from their doughnuts though because when they are open, you just want to buy 3 dozen to last you :) YUMM! read more

WOW!! What a tiny little neighborhood bakery that has a reputation that precedes itself! Always a line even as they get on towards noon and what decadent doughnuts that they have. Everything I got was very rich and filling. One doughnut at a time was more than enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Delicious and an extremely nice staff!! Very helpful!! Next I'll know enough to order ahead of time. read more

Hinkley's are simply the best donuts, I sampled others and nobody has come close to Hinkley's! If you have a chance to get there you should definitely go. read more

Very good!!! They always have a line leading into the building in the mornings - but it's worth the wait!

The best doughnuts, ever. The cream filling is perfect, the frosting perfect, the bread perfect. They don't taste chemical-y like Dunkin Donuts and Krispy Kreme, and they are baked fresh. Only issue is it is like a lottery, trying to guess at their business hours. they are open when you might not expect, and closed when you most want to visit. Great place, despite unpredictable hours of op, and definitely the best doughnuts in Jackson, maybe even Michigan. read more

Best donuts in the history of man! They are simply amazing. They're always busy for a reason. You may be in line for 10+ minutes, but it's well worth the wait! read more

This is hands down the best doughnuts in Jackson. Priced right, crunchy on the outside, softer than a down pillow on the inside.they are known for there chocolate crescent, the frosting taste very similar to a fudge. Word on the street is the owner has the secret recipe memorized, and he alone is the only person to know what it includes. I would recommend this place to all people who have a mouth with taste buds. read more

Old fashioned, special little spot in Jackson. What the Jackson Parlour once was to ice cream, Hinkley's is to donuts. Inexpensive, delicious and a treat to experience. Just getting out of your vehicle, the smells of dough and sugar are in the air. The varieties are relatively few (compared to bake-a-teria and dunk'n donuts), but GREAT versions of each classic type of donut. You won't regret a visit. read more

Get them while they're warm! Chocolate Crescents, Custard Filled Long Johns, OMG.

Best donuts ever. I just eat the glazed. They're giant and really soft. Donut holes are excellent as well.

The product they make is unbelievable. You will not find better doughnuts anywhere. It is in an older kind of run down neighborhood but being in the original building gives it that nostalgiac feel. Their hours are very limited and the lines can sometimes be long but it is well worth it if you can make it. Think of the Seinfeld episode "No soup for you!". Yeah it's kind of like that, hours and service aren't the best but the product they have is great and always in high demand! If you're in Jackson on an early morning and have some time to burn then stop in. You won't regret it. Their doughnuts are good enough that some restaurants and convenience stores in town buy their product and re-sell it. The next best thing in Jackson is European Bakery who has better hours but I prefer the doughnuts at Hinkleys. read more

Love this place since I moved from Detroit, I used to think there wasn't a bakery better the one on Mack/Alter Road my daughter used to buy us a baker dozen every chance we get. My neighbor Larry introduce them to me.he gone to sleep now but when I go to Hinkley, it remind me of him with our morning coffee and his little dog fanny who bark was bigger than her. I hope they don't close pls pass to the next generation. read more
