I have been trying to get food from here for months but every time I actually drive by, it happens to be a Monday and they're closed on Mondays. I finally said "tonight is the night" and checked their site for a menu so I could call ahead. They didn't have one so I had no choice but to order once I got in there. As soon as I walked in, the lady behind the counter said "you picking up?" And when I said "no" she rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed. First red flag. I then proceeded to read the 8 orders I had written in the notes in my phone. She told me they were too busy and took the person picking up food that was behind me. Second red flag. She then came back to me and told me she had 7 orders. I told her I read 8 orders to her. She was very rude and kept saying they were too busy for this. She took my phone and read the orders and realized that yes, she was missing one order that I read off. The person picking up food spent almost $60 and they were told nothing was free. My order was over $70 so I was stuck with nothing free also. Their prices are super high but their portions are amazing. It was the pics in reviews of the portion sizes that made me want to even come here in the first place but due to the extreme rudeness of the lady behind the counter, I will not be back. I haven't even tried the food yet. It doesn't even matter if the food is amazing if the service is shitty and apparently this isn't just an off day for this woman because others in there were saying she's always like this. I get that they're busy and rushing but damn. To treat a first customer this way is no good. read more

If you are native of the Lindenhurst area, you already know why you should go to Hing Hing, so I'll write this review for those of you who are not familiar with it. Hing Hing Kitchen is a TOTAL hole in the wall. I'd almost go so far as to call it gross. It looks like it has never been renovated since the place opened decades ago. The "decor" in there consists of a couple of old benches they probably picked up from goodwill, a marker board that lists the specials, and a clock. Thats it. They do NOT deliver. And they ONLY take cash. The fact that they are still in business after all of that should prove just how great this place is. The food you get is ALWAYS delicious, and always in GIANT portions. If you are ordering for 2 people, get 1 dish, it'll be plenty. The egg rolls are awesome. Huge, never greasy, and full of flavor. I also love their beef lo mein, which comes in one of those white paper takeout containers that is so packed full that it quite literally BURSTS out of the top of the container. They then saran wrap around it to make sure the food doesn't spill everywhere. Sure the prices are a bit higher than the average Chinese take out, but you get 2x the food, and it tastes better here, so shush! If you're in the Lindy area and jonesing for some Chinese take-out, give this place a look! read more

We're coming here over 15 years. Owners are only here a few years now but pretty much maintain the same standard. I pass about seven Chinese take out joints to get here. Probably all of them deliver. Most if not all take Credit Cards. This is by far the best around and I've tried most of them. Try the "elephant skin" fried dumplings. Not for the faint of heart! If you, don't get anything else you must try the General Tso's Chicken. It's the Gold Standard. No need to ask for white meat, and no you can't eat it all alone. Don't even buy pints if you are alone. Get a combo platter unless you're a fan of leftover Chinese. I am so it's all good. Don't miss the Shrimp Roll either! Too big to fail! You get the picture. Enjoy! read more

I used to love this place, the food was always fresh, portions a nice size, and most importantly the orders were correct. Last 2 visits haven't been good, the food is still pretty good but portions have been cut back some, and the orders in both cases were wrong. I will be finding a new local chinese place. read more

2 stars for edible. Quantity doesn't always mean quality. The portions sizes are ridiculous and wasteful. The boneless ribs tasted like I had my mouth open in the middle of the ocean they were so salty! The spring rolls were legit the size of my head. So unnecessary, and they didn't even taste good!!!! It was so dry and terrible. I've lived in the area for 30 years and this was the first time trying it, and now I know why I never heard people rave about it. read more

First time trying. Huge portions and everything was very good. Will be back Oh and cash only! read more

I went here because at one time a few years back , it made great egg rolls and they were over sized. This visit, they were fat, small and soy sauced cabbage, not very good but priced higher then most Chinese take outs here on LI..... The broccoli and beef was mostly..... broccoli. Don't know if I would go back... read more

I've been going to hing hing for years they're cash only and take out only!!! I usually get their wonton soup no other place can top their wonton soup it's so good. I also get their fried rice it's really good. A small container can feed up to three people they fill the container so much they have to cover it with cling wrap I love it. I'm not really a fan of their meats because it has no seasoning the only thing that makes them different is the portion size. This is the first Chinese food place that gives you more than 4 shrimp in your shrimp dish. They aren't stingy at all read more

This is the best Chinese food on this part of the island by far. The place is a seedy looking dump and They only accept cash, but I've never been disappointed. The food is very fresh and the customer service is excellent. And the prices may be a tiny bit higher compared to some of the other local Chines take out places around (only by a few cents)but the massive portions you get here are double what you would get anywhere else. That goes for both pints and quarts. The lo Main is Amazing! The rolls are massive. The shrimp are large and fresh. My only complaint is that the noodles for the soup have been a little stale at times. Overall this place is definitely worth a try. You will not be disappointed. And the owner is so sweet and deserves he local business ! you won't believe the insane about of food you get.. yum! read more

Hing Hing Kitchen - These pictures don't do the huge portions Justice. So good!!! Photo is shrimp fried rice and generally tso chicken. - Chinese Near Me - Lindenhurst, New York

See all

Incredible!! I have been going here forever. The sesame chicken is to die for!! Best chinese food around. Two thumbs way up!!!#

Haven't been here in about 10 years so was skeptical to return but not one thing has changed! Still serving over sized pints and quarts so full they can't close! I stick with the staples at these places; fried rice was great, dumplings were huge, and egg roll was perfect! Glad to see this place is still standing and still serving amazing Chinese food! Stop in if your in the area you won't be disappointed! read more

After a recommendation for a co-worker, a few of us decided to give it a try. Presentation is all it had. The food tasted disgusting. We ordered the chicken and broccoli with white rice and the chicken tasted like rubber. The entire dish tasted bland...I ate two pieces of chicken and broccoli then it went straight into the garbage. Will NOT be returning. Portions are larger, but taste like crap. read more

Someone much wiser than most of us once said, "do not judge a book by its cover". This person must have proclaimed this moments after eating the same general tso's chicken from Hing Hing that my friends and I just finished. This order, which was for 4 but could have easily fed 7, encompassed a bold, tangy flavor that made me wanting more, even after I was full. The chicken, coupled with an exceptional pork fried rice and one of the most delicious, robust egg rolls I have ever had, was splendid. What this location lacks in looks is compensated for with excessive quantity and quality. Sure, most prefer quality over quantity. But this restaurant provides a strong representation of both the former and the latter. Whether you're watching football with your friends, cramming for a test or looking for a cheap alternative to cooking a meal for the family, this venue is high recommended. As a note to the decor: This is a Chinese takeout location, not a Chinese buffet. I know this is a strong inference, but you do not go to these types of locations (a 200 sq ft takeout store front) with the expectation of eating inside. If the decor inside a place like this dissuades you from ordering there, go to a steak house. read more

The HUGE portions alone make this place worth going to. Always go a size smaller than what you actually want - the portions are that big. It's definitely better than your standard Chinese take-out place, but the food isn't always consistent. Every so often, you'll find your favorite dish is just not as good as usual. Also, be aware that this place is cash only. read more

My. Bf and I are regulars here. Super close to home, affordable and huge portions! I mean, one dish can give 2-3 servings! They also steam anything if you want healthier options. Dumplings are huge, eat 2-3 and be full. read more

This place is the best! Order from here about once a week. Feeds my family of four for dinner, and leftovers for lunch the next day for under $20. Largest portions I've ever seen at a take out spot. Wonton soup is awesome. Quality take out... Wish they delivered. read more

Of all the Chinese take out places on Long Island, I finally found THE WORST!! Although the portions are large, the food is bland and tasteless. The $65 I spent was a waste...most of the food went to my dogs. So much for trying a new place. From now on we'll stick with New Empire on Wellwood Ave. At least when the guy takes the order and gives you the wrong food it's always delicious. read more

Great food with large portions. Egg rolls are excellent and when you ask for a spicy dish it is spicy. The location is no frills and it is strictly take out but worth the ride. read more

I have been hearing my boyfriend rave about this place for years but just thought he was repping his home town of Lindenhurst, I finally got to try it last night--and I totally see what all the fuss is about. The best and largest egg rolls I have ever seen! Its worth going just for that alone, but everything else was good too. Atmosphere not that great but who really cares..takeout only anyways! read more

A hole in the wall chinese food place, average quality that's more then made up for it by the quantity.

Best Chinese food I have ever had! The portions they give are HUGE and can easily feed 2-3 people. It's definitely NOT the prettiest place but, don't let that discourage you! It's worth every single bite! They don't deliver and it's CASH ONLY!! read more

This is the best Chinese food place in Lindenhurst. They overstuff the containers. There's always leftovers for lunch. If you want to save money and get good food this is the place to go. The House rice is great. read more

Yes it is a little scary but the food and portions are outstanding, I've been eating here for the past 5 years and never been disappointed. The people who work here do change from time to time but everything else stays the same. read more

This is the best Chinese food place ever they have amazing food and the staff are so kind and generous Hing Hing is the only place that I go to for good Chinese food! There food is incredible I have been going here since I was a little girl. They have the best steamed dumplings all of the orders are cooked fresh and they give HUGE portions I recommend Hing Hing kitchen to anyone that loves Chinese food. You won't regret trying it! read more

Now here is a place if you didn't read a review, you would probably never enter. Well don't judge a book by its cover. The place looks like a throwback to take out places decades in the past. The food is by and large quite good and the size of the portions are not to be believed. Any order for one, will feed two. Stopped in by chance last week and was stunned by the portions. Prices are reasonable, food is fresh and was well prepared. Putting this one down as my permenant take out place for Chinese food. read more

I absolutely love Hing Hing! They are the best Chinese around! Huge portions and cheap prices!

Used to go there but stopped after I was picking up my order and saw a roach crawling across the wall.

Best Chinese food restaurant around me! Pros? People want to talk about the great portions and they do give great portions (huge stuffed containers) but more important than that it is the high quality of the food. The food is so delicious. They are known for their specialty boneless spare ribs. They make the greatest boneless spare ribs that I have ever tasted in my life as it is so tender and tasty. Their fried rice tastes better than competitors too as they use more ingredients like fried egg. The wonton soup is top notch and they even have the "restaurant style" large crispy noodles for the soup. Not the small, generic, stale crispy noodles served by most Chinese food restaurants. The food price is very good because you get high quality food at a good portion. read more

First off they ONLY ACCEPT CASH! no where online does it say that nor on the menu at the establishment. That was a slight bit inconvenient, but there is a 7-11 next door to get cash. The sesame chicken was not very crispy and only 1 piece of chicken has sesame seeds. My pork fried rice that was in my combo had no veggies other restaurants add that. The fried wantons were filled which was nice, but were soggy. On the plus side the egg rolls are huge. Prices aren't bad. read more

My new Chinese spot when in Lindy. Always have large portions. I usually stick to boneless spare rib and sesame chicken both with rice. Dinner price normally 19$. Nice lady who works the counter. Nothing fancy, no eat in. read more

Awesome place. Quick super good food. Staff is very friendly. I've been coming here since I was a kid. Five stars

Been going to this place for years, doesn't look good from the outside - but the Food (Takeout only - too busy to deliver) inside is very very good and I never had a problem because their food is always fresh and they give very large portions. Egg Rolls and Dumplings are HUGE. So if your hungry, this is the place to go, especially if you have company over, if you have your pinkie up in air and your looking for the food to look nice, go across the street to Tang's. Gave it 4 stars because of the appearance, 5 stars for the food. read more

went there on a friends reco because the portions was tremendous but after tasting it I would say there better choices.

portion's are over filled alway's ... this is great especially when i have a big appetite so this is a plus for me......the food is good & alway's hot......only thing i wish for is that they would deliver.........oh make sure u get the almond cookies read more
