I have been trying to get food from here for months but every time I actually drive by, it happens to be a Monday and they're closed on Mondays. I finally said "tonight is the night" and checked their site for a menu so I could call ahead. They didn't have one so I had no choice but to order once I got in there. As soon as I walked in, the lady behind the counter said "you picking up?" And when I said "no" she rolled her eyes and huffed and puffed. First red flag. I then proceeded to read the 8 orders I had written in the notes in my phone. She told me they were too busy and took the person picking up food that was behind me. Second red flag. She then came back to me and told me she had 7 orders. I told her I read 8 orders to her. She was very rude and kept saying they were too busy for this. She took my phone and read the orders and realized that yes, she was missing one order that I read off. The person picking up food spent almost $60 and they were told nothing was free. My order was over $70 so I was stuck with nothing free also. Their prices are super high but their portions are amazing. It was the pics in reviews of the portion sizes that made me want to even come here in the first place but due to the extreme rudeness of the lady behind the counter, I will not be back. I haven't even tried the food yet. It doesn't even matter if the food is amazing if the service is shitty and apparently this isn't just an off day for this woman because others in there were saying she's always like this. I get that they're busy and rushing but damn. To treat a first customer this way is no good. read more

2 stars for edible. Quantity doesn't always mean quality. The portions sizes are ridiculous and wasteful. The boneless ribs tasted like I had my mouth open in the middle of the ocean they were so salty! The spring rolls were legit the size of my head. So unnecessary, and they didn't even taste good!!!! If you are native of the Lindenhurst area, you already know why you should go to Hing Hing, so I'll write this review for those of you who are not familiar with it. Hing Hing Kitchen is a TOTAL hole in the wall. I'd almost go so far as to call it gross. It looks like it has never been renovated since the place opened decades ago. The "decor" in there consists of a couple of old benches they probably picked up from goodwill, a marker board that lists the specials, and a clock. Thats it. They do NOT deliver. And they ONLY take cash. The fact that they are still in business after all of that should prove just how great this place is. The food you get is ALWAYS delicious, and always in GIANT portions. If you are ordering for 2 people, get 1 dish, it'll be plenty. The egg rolls are awesome. Huge, never greasy, and full of flavor. I also love their beef lo mein, which comes in one of those white paper takeout containers that is so packed full that it quite literally BURSTS out of the top of the container. They then saran wrap around it to make sure the food doesn't spill everywhere. Sure the prices are a bit higher than the average Chinese take out, but you get 2x the food, and it tastes better here, so shush! If you're in the Lindy area and jonesing for some Chinese take-out, give this place a look! read more

We're coming here over 15 years. Owners are only here a few years now but pretty much maintain the same standard. I pass about seven Chinese take out joints to get here. Probably all of them deliver. Most if not all take Credit Cards. This is by far the best around and I've tried most of them. Try the "elephant skin" fried dumplings. Not for the faint of heart! If you,don't get anything else you must try the General Tso's Chicken. It's the Gold Standard. No need to ask for white meat, and no you can't eat it all alone. Don't even buy pints if you are alone. I used to love this place, the food was always fresh, portions a nice size, and most importantly the orders were correct. Last 2 visits haven't been good, the food is still pretty good but portions have been cut back some, and the orders in both cases were wrong. I will be finding a new local chinese place. read more

This is the best Chinese food place ever they have amazing food and the staff are so kind and generous Hing Hing is the only place that I go to for good Chinese food! There food is incredible I have been going here since I was a little girl. They have the best steamed dumplings all of the orders are cooked fresh and they give HUGE portions I recommend Hing Hing kitchen to anyone that loves Chinese food. I've been going to hing hing for years they're cash only and take out only!!! I usually get their wonton soup no other place can top their wonton soup it's so good. I also get their fried rice it's really good. A small container can feed up to three people they fill the container so much they have to cover it with cling wrap I love it. I'm not really a fan of their meats because it has no seasoning the only thing that makes them different is the portion size. This is the best Chinese food on this part of the island by far. The place is a seedy looking dump and They only accept cash, but I've never been disappointed. The food is very fresh and the customer service is excellent. And the prices may be a tiny bit higher compared to some of the other local Chines take out places around (only by a few cents)but the massive portions you get here are double what you would get anywhere else. That goes for both pints and quarts. The lo Main is Amazing! The rolls are massive. The shrimp are large and fresh. My only complaint is that the noodles for the soup have been a little stale at times. Overall this place is definitely worth a try. You will not be disappointed. After a recommendation for a co-worker, a few of us decided to give it a try. Presentation is all it had. The food tasted disgusting. We ordered the chicken and broccoli with white rice and the chicken tasted like rubber. The entire dish tasted bland...I ate two pieces of chicken and broccoli then it went straight into the garbage. Someone much wiser than most of us once said, "do not judge a book by its cover". This person must have proclaimed this moments after eating the same general tso's chicken from Hing Hing that my friends and I just finished. This order, which was for 4 but could have easily fed 7, encompassed a bold, tangy flavor that made me wanting more, even after I was full. The chicken, coupled with an exceptional pork fried rice and one of the most delicious, robust egg rolls I have ever had, was splendid. What this location lacks in looks is compensated for with excessive quantity and quality. Sure, most prefer quality over quantity. But this restaurant provides a strong representation of both the former and the latter. Whether you're watching football with your friends, cramming for a test or looking for a cheap alternative to cooking a meal for the family, this venue is high recommended. As a note to the decor: This is a Chinese takeout location, not a Chinese buffet. I know this is a strong inference, but you do not go to these types of locations (a 200 sq ft takeout store front) with the expectation of eating inside. The HUGE portions alone make this place worth going to. Always go a size smaller than what you actually want - the portions are that big. It's definitely better than your standard Chinese take-out place, but the food isn't always consistent. Every so often, you'll find your favorite dish is just not as good as usual. The $65 I spent was a waste...most of the food went to my dogs. So much for trying a new place. Used to go there but stopped after I was picking up my order and saw a roach crawling across the wall.

First off they ONLY ACCEPT CASH! no where online does it say that nor on the menu at the establishment. That was a slight bit inconvenient, but there is a 7-11 next door to get cash. The sesame chicken was not very crispy and only 1 piece of chicken has sesame seeds. My pork fried rice that was in my combo had no veggies other restaurants add that. The fried wantons were filled which was nice, but were soggy. On the plus side the egg rolls are huge. Prices aren't bad. read more

Best Chinese food restaurant around me! Pros? People want to talk about the great portions and they do give great portions (huge stuffed containers) but more important than that it is the high quality of the food. The food is so delicious. They are known for their specialty boneless spare ribs. They make the greatest boneless spare ribs that I have ever tasted in my life as it is so tender and tasty. Their fried rice tastes better than competitors too as they use more ingredients like fried egg. The wonton soup is top notch and they even have the "restaurant style" large crispy noodles for the soup. Not the small, generic, stale crispy noodles served by most Chinese food restaurants. Been going to this place for years, doesn't look good from the outside - but the Food (Takeout only - too busy to deliver) inside is very very good and I never had a problem because their food is always fresh and they give very large portions. Egg Rolls and Dumplings are HUGE. So if your hungry, this is the place to go, especially if you have company over, if you have your pinkie up in air and your looking for the food to look nice, go across the street to Tang's.
