I want to be as fair as I can be with my review, I don't give a 1 star lightly, but in light of spending over 500.00 on a fix that never happened and as you can see, my check engine light is STILL on, I think 1 star is fair. So when I took my VW in and it was looked at, I was told a spark plug and coil had to be replaced because of carbon build up, ok....autozone checked the code for me and it said nothing about that area, but I said hey they should know better then me right? I'm just a single women who doesn't know that much about cars. So I gave them ALL of my savings I had spent 4 months saving up and THOUGHT I got the issue fixed. Literally the next day, same issue is still happening, car can't idle without check engine light blinking and coming on, it sputters when it's warming up. Autozone had said the code showed the mass air flow valve was faulty, this place NEVER ONCE fixed that issue, they in fact ignored it all together and did what they wanted. At this point, they let me come back and they do the testing for free, and tell me we can replace everything again incase the parts were bad, again they do this for free, BUT here's the kicker. They never actually did another fix and here's how I know they lied to me. My carfax shows EVERY SINGLE TIME I have work done on it, no matter how small, it's on there automatically. My carfax shows the first "fix", but it doesn't show anything else ever being done to it. Hines Service Center, not only didn't fix my issue, they LIED to my face about fixing it a second time, AND they couldn't even give me paperwork on the second "fix" either. They repaired my vehicle just fine. A friend volunteered to run the diagnostics with his code reader, so I knew what the problem was when I took it in. Upon check out, they gave me a 4-5 page list of services and repairs the vehicle needed. Okay, I appreciated the inspection because there were a couple issues I wasn't aware of. I was pleased enough with the service that we took a second vehicle in, this time with no check-engine light on. They described the repairs they needed to make, which tracked with what we knew. We authorized them and paid. We got the vehicle home with zero problems. The next day, we had the exact same problems we asked them to repair. It was almost as if they did just enough to make sure we could get it home, so we would bring it back in for further repairs. I trusted the AAA rating, never bothering to look at Yelp. Never again. What we experienced is a pattern that you can see from the other low ratings. The AAA rating means nothing. I will say the manager is a soft spoken man that appears to be kind but why get upset when you know someone needs their car and has to pay you. I am also soft spoken and won't ever yell or cuss and cause a scene but I do want people to know 1. Apparently if your windshield is broken while in their care, they will say they aren't responsible. 2. They have cameras but it doesn't record or the recording isn't held more than a week and they had my cars over 3 weeks. 2. You will pay over a $100 for them diagnose a car that just left their shop (another review says the same thing) 3. Towing is on you even if the car was just picked up from their shop (also stated in another review) 4. You may have to seek legal recourse. I attached pictures below. They removed reviews off Facebook because another customer posted another negative review below mine about their similar experience. The whole story is below. I took a Land Rover and Buick LaCrosse in. Initially impressed because most mechanics won't touch a Land Rover. They replaced an O2 sensor and recharged AC. They couldn't recharge AC but said another place could but they would handle it. I pick the car up and drive off. Notice the windshield was broken so I call immediately and go back. I told him I knew 200% I didn't take it in like that because I was going to trade the car in and sent pictures to a dealership just a week or so before I dropped it off and in the pictures, it did not have a cracked windshield. He said that even if it did happen there, it was like parking at WalMart and they were not responsible. I told him it was not like parking at Walmart, I left it in his care. He said that there were signs posted everywhere that they aren't responsible for damage. The only signs I saw and took pictures of were "not responsible for items left in car". I had left the Buick LaCrosse at the same time for a new transmission so I told him to speak with the owner and find out what could be done about the windshield. When I picked up the Lacrosse I asked what he found out about the windshield because at this point i had spent $1000 on the Land Rover and $2000 on the Lacrosse so surely they could do something. I told him his shop must have insurance because my deductible is $1000 and the windshield is $750 to replace. He said his deductible was $2500 and the owner would not replace and he asked all the guys in the shop snd no one said they did it. (Imagine that) I took the Lacrosse home and it wouldn't start so I had it towed back to them and just like I read in another review "they ran a diagnostic and it was another issue and it would be $400 to replace a hood sensor that was draining the battery." I told them I no longer wanted them repairing anything and I would pick it up. He said "ok then it is $110 for running the diagnostic." I do not cause a scene nor cuss him but at this point I truly want to scream but don't. I pay for the diagnostic and leave. I highly do NOT recommend them. I had the Buick LaCrosse fixed for under $60. If I had not left both cars at the same time, I wouldn't have returned after the cracked windshield. I believe if someone pays you $2000 for a transmission you ran a diagnostic to figure out what was needed that you should say "this is what I found along with needing a transmission." You should also be responsible for a car in your care. I am contemplating small claims for the windshield since I do have proof of it not being broken before AND it is my daughters car and she has been gone since January so the car was just sitting without being driven except to Hines Service Center. read more

A friend had some work done here and it wasn't done correctly. Her check engine light came on right after the service and she took it to another mechanic who told and showed her the work wasn't done correctly. She has to pay additional hundreds of dollars to fix a job that should have been fixed by Hines. Hines wouldn't reimburse her or make the situation right as such they are being called out for their lack of customer service. read more

I'm satisfied each time I use Hine's Auto Service for my car repairs. There have been times when the parts that were replaced were inefficient and they replaced those parts, free of charge. The team of mechanics are very knowledgeable and always provide me with a simplified diagnosis of the issues and how they plan to resolve them. My Ford Taurus initially had many issues and since trusting Hine's Auto Services with all of it's repairs, I've been able to rely on my car to transport me without worries. When there were instances that my car wouldn't start or would break down, I knew I could count on them to assist me, in having it towed, diagnosed, and repaired! I'm certain, that I would have no interest in putting any effort into it, if it weren't for my faith in their abilities! I love you guys! read more

I took my Nissan there shortly after getting it and finding out it had a power steering fluid leak. Hines charged me around $800 for that and a broken hood latch and kept it over the weekend (a total of four days!) causing me to miss work. I take it to Firestone a few months later for something else and Firestone takes me out and shows me the hose Hines put in when fixing the leak. It's got a kink in it that's causing problems with the power steering getting the pressure it needs. This kink caused the car to be undrivable for the last month. When I called Hines to ask about it they told me they knew of no such kink and wouldn't have left one. They tell me all their parts are perfectly fit to the cars they're put in and my car certainly isn't undrivable because of the kink but they'd be glad to fix the issue for me. I just had a friend fix it tonight. It was 100% the kink that Hines charged me $800 to put in my car. It was about a 15 minute fix that I would have had to tow my car to Hines for them to "fix". read more

I am used to receiving impeccable service from Hines Team. Unfortunately, one of the managers blatantly lied to me during my last service experience. I had $1,400 worth of work performed on my vehicle. the price was fair and once the repairs were completed, Rick called me to inform me that the air bag light came on. He further stated that they can diagnose the issue for a fee. I drove paid the $1400 and drove away in the car. A friend who is a mechanic diagnosed the issue and stated that Hines likely caused the issue (not a fact. just his opinion). when I called Hines, Rick told me that they figured out the issue in the process of the first repair and that their diagnosis was similar to the one of my friend. The problem here is the dishonesty. He knew the issue from the very beginning, chose to tell me that the did not know what the issue was and tried to charge me a diagnostic fee. Integrity is essential in business. This dishonesty makes me question all of their prior statements (that I had no reason to doubt). I will be filing a complaint with the AR AG office and will likely file a claim in small claims court. Very disappointed read more

I brought my vehicle into Hines to get a waterpump fixed. I was charged $1272 for the job. Within one week of me getting my vehicle back my check engine light came on i took the car back up there to see what was wrong they plugged it up and determined they had failed to properly plug back in the idle air sensor. I also noticed the cover of my air intake wasn't placed back on. I let Brett know of this issue and he stated he would look around the shop. I went back up there afterward since i never heard back from them regarding the part. he informed me they were going to order the part. once again my check engine light came on i took the vehicle back up left it for 5 hours and came back to hear the code was injector #4 and they had already spent 2 hours worth of time on my car which was inaccurate. I ask Brett to show me placement on my vehicle where the water pump was located and ask if there was ayway this code could be related to anything they had just replaced with the waterpump he informed that no they didnt have to even take the plastic piece off the motor which not know much about vehicles i went with until asking another mechanic i found out and their paperwork states yes they indeed did take these exact parts out i was having trouble with. I had a black mechanic go up there with me to explain and figure out how they replaced the water pump as Brett had explained to me. They informed me at that time they were no longer going to do business with me and to take my vehicle else where. which i did, i took it to a shop that specializes in foreign cars such as my Volkswagen, where they found the fuel injector had not been properly reinstalled After fixing the waterpump. I paid the new shop $429.93 for their time amd had them call over to Hines to make them aware of the situation in hopes they would do the right and honest thing and pay me the additional money i was out for their shops faulty installation. However i still have yet to get this issue resolved and the owner Brian Armstrong has taken this to another level by sending me emails making alligations that when i brought the black mechanic with me we hopped out of the vehicle in a "gangster " manner, and disrupted the peacefulness of his shop. He informed me that he had told Rick to pay me the $429 if i agreed to their terms of writing a good review and continuing to do business with them. however the word i received was they would write me a check for $200 if i agreed to write good review which i then declined since i was out the $429.93. I have been a loyal customer of Hines service center for the past 15 years since 2004! I feel the people of Conway and Hines customers should be made aware of this. read more

I called and talked on the phone with an employee about fixing my AC , they were rude and they couldn't get off the phone quick enough. Then I decided I was already nearby so I'd go ahead and stop in. The young man at the desk didn't even look up from his phone until I walked up and said hello. I asked if someone could look at my compressor and he said as soon as the man behind him was off the phone he would send him out and went immediately back to his phone. This place is horrible. I take my truck to them once and we say fix the things that really need to be fixed. The main problems. Get it back after they "fix it" and find out by a college student in automotive classes that I have a blown head gasket and blown radiator. And for some reason the people that get paid to fix it couldn't figure that out. And plus they are way to high for there bad work. And most of them have really bad attitudes. I was very disappointed with Hines. When my truck was having overheating issues I took it to them. They diagnosed my problem as a blown head gasket and estimated the cost to be $1700. I broke down the engine myself and found the head gaskets to be in perfect condition and even got a second opinion from another mechanic, who agreed. Furthermore, my truck showed none of the typical signs of a blown head gasket. I then had my heads professionally tested to ensure they were not stressed, warped, or cracked, they were not. After replacing the thermostat, an $8 part, my problems seem solved. This appears to have been an effort by Hines to milk nearly $2000 from me. After hearing other people with similar stories, I will not take anymore business to them. read more

Came for an oil change and tire rotation. I had two new tires on my passenger side and needed one moved to the front driver side which I explained when I got there. An hour later I came back and the tires weren't even rotated as I had asked. Took 10-15 more minutes to get it done right. The next day I lost a hubcap to one of my tires while driving and noticed there was a missing bolt on the harness of my radiator fan. WILL NOT RETURN. read more

After researching websites in the Conway area I chose Hines Service Center because they had great reviews. We are not from the Conway area but my husband has worked over there for 6 years. BEWARE of REVIEWS on BUSINESS' WEBSITES!!! My husbands 2010 Ford F150 Platinum needed new brake pads. During the course of the day Lori called & strongly suggested that they be allowed to "flush the radiator" as she would be leery about allowing a vehicle with radiator fluid that looked "like pond water" back on the road. I wish they had felt that strongly about allowing a vehicle back on the road with new brake pads "installed backwards". This was September 15, 2015. The second week of October he took the vehicle to Randall Ford in Ft. Smith, AR, which is our home. It was taken in to get a new latch for the tailgate & during the course of checking & inspecting the vehicle, the mechanic discovered that the brakes pads had already been ruined because they had been installed BACKWARDS. We feel that we are due a full refund, minus the radiator flush to which I naively agreed to let them do. According to Hines Service Center, they said they want to look at the truck to see if there was anything else going on. Even if there had been, Randall Ford had corrected the problem by that time. Hines should have found it when they had the truck. Napa Auto Parts, who owns Hines Service Center (which, I thought we were dealing with a LOCALLY owned company) is trying to treat this as an insurance claim. This IS NOT an INSURANCE CLAIM. This is due to shoddy workmanship & terrible customer service. They screwed up on the job & yet they think we are due a refund of only $186.00 + a few cents when the total bill was $638.00 + some cents. That would mean they are charging us $452.00 for a radiator flush! We will NEVER use this company again & plan to proceed to the next step if they keep refusing to reimburse us. The parts were new so it wasn't a failure of the parts. The failure occurred when their mechanic installed the parts WRONG. We shouldn't have to pay for their mistakes!! The next step will be a trip to the local newspaper then small claims court. I'm going to try one more time to get our money back before I proceed. Many companies don't realize their best or worst advertisement is "word of mouth". This review is my second step after already trying to get our money back by talking to Hines Service Center. I had my truck towed here after it stalled at a traffic light. They discovered fuel gauge had quit working and I had simply run out of gas. However, they also recommended I let them install a new MAP sensor as the current one was now causing my truck to idle very rough and to occasionally die after turning on the ignition. They said it would cost $180. A quick Google search told me that if I bought the part myself for $50, I could do it myself with little worry. So I did. IT TOOK ME LITERALLY 15 SECONDS. And I have very limited car knowledge. Which is likely why they thought they could charge me $180. read more
