Located in the Prince hotel, we were looking for someplace close to meet with friend before leaving Honolulu. This place was the bar attached to the pool but overlooking the beautiful ocean and sunset. Great location. Service was fast and they accommodated all 8 of us. Food and drinks were very good. Loved their Ahi dip with chips and the prime rib tacos. Also reasonably priced

Hinana Bar is located on the 5th floor inside the Prince Waikiki hotel. Prince is a beautiful luxury hotel in Waikiki. Delivering a nice poolside bar with views of the harbor and comfortable seating. Fun spot even for locals. We like coming here for their special events that are open to the public. Very relaxing and laidback atmosphere. This time around we came for the special night they had: Vodka & Vinyl featuring DJ O'Spliff from Aloha Got Soul. Great DJ and happened to follow him here for this experience. Cocktails: $16. Reasonable price for location and ambiance. Got the Ginger Rodgers and Juke Cuke. Cocktails were a little too sweet and had a lot of ice. Decent flavor though. Service was attentive. A few weeks ago, they were doing a special showing of HIFF movies and got to see The Wind & Reckoning. Fantastic movie. They also have beautiful paintings by local Native Hawaiian artist Solomon Enos throughout the hotel. The Stargazers of Hawaii is also a really unique experience held by a local astronomer, Nick! Mesmerizing views of the Moon, Saturn, Milky way, star-clusters, etc. We hope they continue doing fun events like these.

I'm not sure who but a guest at the Prince Waikiki would come to this resort-style poolside bar. Perhaps random hotel bar hoppers who go from resort to resort and get sloshed. I think I saw a couple in matching aloha shirts who fit that description. That might've been our fate were Jamie W. and I not guests of this luxury hotel (review: https://bit.ly/3LxxAfn) . This is on the fifth floor where you walk through a nondescript hallway to get to not only the bar but the pools. We stopped by to check out the action and found ourselves ordering $17 tropical cocktails - a Pina Colada and a Mai Tai (photo: https://bit.ly/3JLd61o). A bit pricey yes but it did include live entertainment and a relaxing aloha vibe. COCKTAILS - 3.5 stars...a nice sweet kick but also quite a kick to the wallet AMBIANCE - 4 stars...very much a high-end resort SERVICE - 4 stars...very attentive...peel me a grape TOTAL - 4 stars...go for the experience RELATED - Exploring Hawaii? Purchased a day pass to enjoy the infinity pool here while my sister was visiting. We rented a cabana. There are beautiful ocean views and a variety of drinks and food items to enjoy. It was pure relaxation! You get 2 refillable water bottles, towels, and sunscreen with your cabana rental. We ordered some lava flows, a Prosecco, and a Lilikoi passion drink. All the drinks were good. The Lilikoi passion was slightly sour. For food we ordered the Poke with the nori rice chips and the hurricane tater tots. The poke was fresh and the tots were good a little salty but crispy. The servers are laid back and attentive. I love that we can bring our drinks into the pool and order right from there or our cabana. This is a great place to stay or enjoy for the day. The views are great and the service is awesome. You also get complimentary valet and self parking with your day pass.

The Hinana bar is one of a few places in the Prince Waikiki hotel that you can get food from. We have stayed here a few times and it was a great time. The poolside service of the waitstaff is great because you can swim and enjoy your time without having to wait in line for food. They bring everything out in cute bento boxes. That's nice considering the pool is located below many rooms and I would hate to have something fall in my food. We ordered the crab and lobster sweet roll and the hurricane tater tots, toppings on the side. My husband said the crab and lobster roll was the same from two years ago when we stayed here. That's pretty good considering that was right after COVID time and many things can change. Sandwich came with fries which pleased the kiddos. The tatter tots were very crunchy with the toppings on the side. The kids loved trying all the sauces themselves as I'm sure they wouldn't have liked it as much with the tater tots dressed. The setting is nice day and night. If your lucky you can catch the firework show poolside while sipping your drinks. If you are in the area, stop by for some live music or DJ beats and definitely try the crab and lobster sweet roll!

Very nice place to relax by the poolside and enjoy the breezes on the 5th floor of the Prince hotel. They also have many delicious snacks to complement cocktail drinks.

Went on Friday night for a free Paula Fuga concert 2 drink minimum. We got the Kona Brew seltzers bucket of 4 ($25) which comes in tropical flavors. My friends joked it was like "dirty water" with only 5% alcohol but it's a good option for those who don't want to drink too much but want something light and refreshing to make them feel like they're participating in drinking. We also got the lilikoi passion, a tequila based drink with li hing flavor and the maitai. Both were good and pretty to look at except for the plastic cup. Everything here is served in plastic which feels odd at a nice hotel, especially since we are technically no longer in a pandemic. For food we got the tater tots with were pretty tasty with Sriracha mayo, Kabayaki sauce, Furikake and kakimochi. Other friends got the chicken wings with shishito peppers and fish and chops which looked and smelled good. It has a nice resort casual open air atmosphere with friendly and professional service. It is breezy so you may want to take a light sweater or jacket even on a beautiful summer night. On Friday nights you can get a nice view of the fireworks from the pool deck

This was a great pool area. The staff was so nice the price was normal going rate and the view of the marina with beach in the back was beautiful. We had a wonderful afternoon there. The food was quick and yummy. Hit the spot.

Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was about 5pm and when we got there it was still bright, the sun was still out, but where we sat, the sun was blocked by the building so it was really shady. At some point, it did drizzle for like a minute, where we ended up going into the cabana. The hostess didn't mind since it was not busy and we didn't wanna get rained on. Our girl was really nice, and she took really good care of us. The food, was delicious. It was portioned out to share with one another. Everything tasted really good. I especially enjoyed the tater tots and the chicken. They were very tasty! The drink was yummy! I love li hing so that was perfectly sweetened to me. Others said it was a bit too sweet for them. The ahi dip was good, would be nice for it to be thicker, & have more fish bites. Anyway, our night was really good here! Heard they also have live music sometimes, so hopefully one day I can stop by when there's live music.

Aloha! I know this review is intended for the Hinana Bar, but I wanted you to know about the rest of the property too! I first came to the Prince Waikiki Hotel (formerly named Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki) in 2006 to attend the Made In Hawaii Festival at the Blaisdell Center. I chose this hotel because of its proximity to Waikiki as well as being able to walk to the Blaisdell Center. I had a room in the Ewa Tower with a lanai that overlooked the pool deck. Having traveled to Hawai`i 34 times before moving here in 2010, I had to make sure that O`ahu was where I wanted to wind up! Over the years, Stephen and I have attended many music events at The Hinana Bar located on the pool deck (5th floor). We love being able to sit and relax listening to the amazing artists performing their music. Our current favorite is Melanie (https://melaniiemusic.com) on Friday nights from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Sometimes Jenn Wright ("JRoQ") will play with her, alternating with John Manion. The Hinana Bar features delicious drinks (our favorites of course are the Maitai's, Froze's, Aperol Spritz's, to name a few). They also offer a menu of food items with the flatbread pizzas being our "go to" choice. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive, and professional. Make sure that you say aloha to Maria, Terri, Howard, Sharelle, Mariz, Kawelo, and the bartenders, Cullen and Tammi. (and in case I forgot someone, it's because I'm old, sorry!) Last month was my birthday. Stephen wanted to surprise me, so he booked a beautiful "Ocean Front Premier" room on the 29th floor of the Diamond Head tower for 3 nights. We had a spectacular view, delicious meals from room service (provided by 100 Sails Restaurant and Bar on the 3rd floor). An added surprised was the poolside cabana that he booked. The girls from Hinana Bar knew that we were coming, and they even decorated the cabana just for me. I felt so special. The drinks flowed all day, concluding with a spectacular sunset. I've heard that people often buy for a friend or partner's birthday, something that they like themselves, so Stephen's birthday this past weekend was a no-brainer. I was able to secure a similar room on the 30th floor of the Diamond Head Tower, but this room was at the opposite end and gave us such an amazingly different view than last month. Of course, I repeated history by securing a poolside cabana and this time we dined at 100 Sails on Stephen's birthday. We each had the ribeye steak with lobster tail... it was so delicious. I guess you would call it a "GWP" (Gift With Purchase) as Stephen surprised me by extending our room one more night. I can't believe how relaxing it was to lay around catching up on Grace & Frankie, eating veggie puffs, finishing the last seltzers in the fridge, then strolling down to the pool for a couple final cocktails and refreshing dip in the infinity pool. I can't say enough good about this property. The valet and front desk staff is great, housekeeping was friendly and efficient, and the entire hotel is well maintained, in fact, they had just started to refinish the wood deck at the pool. If I worked in the Hospitality Industry, this would be the place that I would want to be employed. Overall, the vibe is "higher-end" with a level of class and sophistication, but without that "stuffy" feeling of some of the other "Ritzy" Resorts. We felt very comfortable and can't wait for our next excuse to drive down the street to check in... funny thing, we arrive at the hotel from home before the A/C in the car has a chance to cool us down! We hope your stay at the Prince Waikiki Hotel and Hinana Bar is as great as ours have been. They always seem to meet and exceed our expectations. Aloha~

great spot to enjoy a cocktail, watch the sunset, and listen to some live music! the pool in front is distanced enough that its not super noisy. drinks were tasty, average priced too.

Non existent service by the Pool
    Vanessa K.

Dreadful non existent service here. Came here two days in a row cos friends are staying at the hotel. You could be sitting here the whole afternoon and evening, and the wait staff will just look at you and yawn. If you head up and order at the bar, the uninterested and unsmiling waitstaff will grudging take your order. At least he remembers our drinks from yesterday. Maybe because we are only one of 10 people here. Save yourself the trouble and either head to 100 Sails or somewhere else, don't ruin your vacation here.

    GORGEOUS VIEWS! Best on island.

What a beautiful hidden gem at the Prince Hotel. I totally would of given this place 5 stars as the drinks were good, service excellent and views magnificent. Its just that it was super windy and with all empty cabanas and charging extra for unwindy unused space during a pandemic was just inappropriate during a time when tourism is down 76%. But we sat in the wind enjoying beautiful live music from a solo guitar player who we generously tipped since he was so good! We started our sunset cocktails with a beautiful vibe as we waited for a table downstairs at their japanese restaurant. The view was seriously better than any waikiki resort or Maui resort we have visited as we have stayed at the best! From Ritz Carltons to Four Seasons..the aloha from this place was contagious as the girls working tried their best. Again, its blowing wind..and I understand they were just following the rules. If they only offered their unused cabanas and wind blocked spaces, tourists and cash paying patrons like us would of had a better experience. So, if the management would reconsider this on those super windy days when occupancy is 10%..the guy playing beautiful music gets more tips, customers stay longer, bartender gets more tips..and its called survival. So unless management rethinks these rules..I will say, visit this piece of paradise, enjoy the music and great drinks..just dont go on a windy day!

The staff was unpretentious and welcoming from the start--nothing stuffy despite the sophisticated setting. The musicians are so talented it felt more like a private concert or dinner theater. The pianist, Maggie, is a singer-songwriter who taught us a few things and kept us engaged the entire time. We caught up on our day, ate, and enjoyed the show. Reservations are for two hours, so there was no rush at all. Overall, this is a classy spot for a relaxed night out. Prices are about what you'd expect but even stopping in after dinner elsewhere would be nice. Reservations are not needed for the bar. There's no: "Moonglow" (Benny Goodman) or "That was my heart" (honor to Ella Fitzgerald), so I asked for my favorite aperitif, "Dubonnet" , no. But, they came up with my other favorite, sambuca Mist. I have to agree with another reviewer that the French baguette served with the charcuterie was hard as could be and inedible. I did not enjoy the choice of cheeses as they were both of the same hard boring tastes, unimaginative, mix it up. They olives should be pitted. The tiramisu dessert was very delicious, even though very small, but expected--after all its fine dining. I have no other way to tell new manager to up their game in the food and beverage department. Just wouldn't expect Halekulani to slip in these departments. Also, manager never came around or was seen checking in his or her patrons, not very 5 star there. Just being honest. The complimentary valet parking was exceptional. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening.

We sat at the bar, which was a highlight, Michael and Tony were welcoming, easy to talk story with, and clearly know their craft. I went with the Barreled Old Man, a smooth, layered mix of bourbon, rye, and brandy that just worked, while my wife's Sesame Veil brought a nutty, balanced flavor that stood out. For round two, the Espressing My Love was a great take on an espresso martini, and Michael built my wife a custom drink off her favorite flavors and nailed it again. We paired it with the smoked mozzarella and salami grilled cheese and Ho Farms tomato soup, and this is where it really hit. The sandwich came out hot and crisp, and when you took a bite the cheese pulled away just right, that perfect melt, with the salami adding a savory kick. The tomato soup was fresh, bright, and made for dipping you didn't want to stop. We were welcomed with a table that had our name on it, a small touch that goes a long way.
