We have been to this place a few times, twice for lunch and once we ordered take out for dinner. This restaurant is located in the Town Green. The food is delicious and also very flavorful since their food is made with fresh herbs and spices. They also have a lot of gluten free options as well as lots of different menu options! They have lunch specials on some days that ends at 2:30pm. I think that going during lunch gets you the most bang for your buck. I have ordered the mix vegan curry before and it is delicious! I decided to switch it up today and ordered the organic tofu tikka masala. It was delicious as well! We went on a long hike beforehand so I came here hungry and still could not finish my meal. The lunch comes with your main dish, lentil soup, salad, buttered naan bread, and a side of either brown or white rice. The salad has a special mango dressing that they make that is amazing! My dish was $12.99 for all of that and got a to go box to have some for later. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating. The outside is a covered patio area and there are lots of tables inside as well. The service of the staff is exceptional! The staff are very friendly, attentive, and helpful! I recommend it for anyone in the area for a Russian River adventure day -- we were able to get a table around dinner time w/o wait or reservation, and there was plenty of comfortable outdoor seating and nearby parking. The service was friendly and the food was excellent. We ordered the vegetarian biryani, a chicken tikka masala, samosa chaat, saag paneer and it all came with lentil soup to start. This was my first time trying Himalayan food, I always thought I wouldn't like it but let me tell it was so good, the rich flavor of the turmeric just captures you. I had the chicken masala which was delicious, was kinda nervous at the beginning but will definitely come back to this place. I want to love this place but.... I hadn't been in over a year because the service during our last visit was terrible. This visit was even worse. We arrived with a reservation and waited 20 minutes. Then we ordered. The appetizer came quickly; however, our dinner took over 45 minutes to arrive. We finally asked for the food to go as we already finished two glasses of wine while waiting and we're no longer hungry. Tables around us received and finished their food even when seated after us. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. We should have just canceled our order after the third time asking how much longer. Nice local place - lousy service. read more

This place is SO good! I have doordashed from here before and having lived in the Bay Area thought it was super bland. We went in person with my mom and sister and lo and behold there are numerous spice levels (of course my family went super mild) but my husband and I went medium to spicy, and it was fabulous. Literally everything was awesome and we can't wait to go back. Palak Paneer is totally different than what we've had before - rather than chunks of farmers cheese it's more like small curds - better than any we have had to date. Matar Paneer and Butter chicken as good as any you would get anywhere if not better. Highly recommend! read more

The couple that owns it are truly the sweetest people and their flavors carry over so well. As a single person I tend to wind up there a lot mostly for soup and dumplings but just based purely on how they have treated me is enough to bring me back every week, tell everyone I know to go There and as a tourist destination of the world, Kathmandu righteously deserves to be one of the places to visit for food as it is perfectly stowed away in an actual oldstyle train. So delicious! My hubby went to get takeout & after ordering, he had to wait about 20 minutes, & they were so kind. They brought him a small bowl of the most delicious soup he has ever had. He kept telling me, the next time we dine there he wants a big bowl of their soup. He's not sure what the name of the soup was though. Oh dear! We had the chicken momo's, which were so juicy & filled with so much flavor. The Tandori chicken; ( bone in ) which was my FAV. It came with sautéed onions, & veggies & white rice with peas. We also ordered the Lamb with fried noodles. Excellent! Again so much flavor. And of course, the Garlic/Cilantro Naan. We got two orders of the Naan. We had a lot of different sauces, & I loved dipping the naan in them. We will dine in next time. The restaurant itself is clean, & decorated beautifully. If you happen to be in the mood for a thrilling tastebud experience featuring fresh veggies in coconut curry, y'all need to come and eat Himalayan. Bishnu took really good care of us after a little miscommunication. I am so glad I decided to come back. This is my favorite Himalayan spot close to home. We ordered the Aloo Gobi Vegan with coconut curry added tofu and spinach with a side of perfectly cooked white rice. I gotta tell you, the tofu is super silky and soft. I've never had tofu this delicious! Also had the fish (salmon cubed) tikka masala, which if you're a seafood lover; you'll love this dish. The Palak Paneer is so good too!! The cubed cheese and spinach never fails. Don't forget to get the cheese naan and the garlic naan to dip in these yummy dishes. Not to mention, their noodle soup is vegan and packed with a rich savory flavor. The veggie samosa stuffed with potatoes and green peas is a winner for an appetizer, as well as the Lentil Soup (vegan/gluten free). There are lots of vegan, gluten free and nut free options on the menu. You cannot go wrong here. I love going on dates with my girlfriend Lindz here. Three of us went there for dinner one evening. The service was excellent. The ambience on the outside patio was most enjoyable. The food had its high points, with two small disappointments. Overall, the food preparation was excellent, with a most tasty accommodation of a special bread request, a delicious and puffy puri. The two disappointments were the pakoras, which were dense and mealy, and the ras malai, which appeared to contain farina rather than just being cheese curds. They were very dense and unfortunately, also very dry. Nevertheless, a most enjoyable meal, and we will definitely return! read more

This is stellar Indian and Himalayan food. We recently tried the lunch specials and were blown away--the food was very thoughtfully and carefully made with exceptional ingredients (I believe they use organic vegetables), and tasted very clean. I didn't feel overly full after eating--I've read that this is proof of superior Indian food and I believe it. It also blows some other Indian restaurants out of the water, especially Turmeric in RP. This is one of the only decent Indian places in the area that hasn't had a fairly major downturn in quality over the past few years. The garlic naan was great, with a nice taste and texture, and both of the main dishes that I tried were excellent. The Himalayan fried noodles were a very interesting dish that I haven't tried before - rather like chow mein, but with Indian spices and some very tasty chicken as well. Simple, with subdued flavors, but extremely tasty and really hit that fried noodle itch. The lamb vindaloo was a very enjoyable level of spice ("Spicy" usually means not nearly spicy enough or world-destroying - I'm glad they managed to get an appropriately sweat-inducing level) for a veteran of SE Asian cooking, and the lamb had an excellent flavor by itself and was nice and tender, not tough like I'm used to getting it from other places. Overall, an excellent go-to Indian restaurant for locals - NorCal is typically pretty bad at Indian, but this is a great exception to that rule. It's not the best I've ever had, but it's not hours away and comes with a very affordable price tag. read more

First time visit downtown Windsor. We were checking out the menus on yelp for KC's or Kin,'s, however nothing really caught our eyes. Typical American faire which we normally default to when too tired to search further. Got out the car to start walking and just as we crossed the road, right on the corner (across from Kin's) was a small restaurant called Himalayan. Not too hungry but more drawn to it because it was not what we expected to find in this small town. We were greeted and seated immediately. Water served, and ordered our drinks (La Creme Pinot Noir and a large Taj Mahal lager). Priorities! Like I said, we were not too peckish. We ordered 2 garlic cilantro Naan, a Lamb Tika Masala (spicy level), size steamed veggies,, and Papadoms. The Lamb Tika Masala had good flavors, spicy bit not too spicy (although I like it hot), not too much meat but sized for one. It came with basmati rice. The Naan bread definitely caught my eyes! It was perfect and was actually served the entire round size rather than half as most places have done (including our local in Fairfield). I thought it was a nice surprise to have an entire Naan. It was flavorful and hot out the oven. The sauces that came with the papadoms were complimentary of each other, especially if you layer it and tastes it together. My only regret was that I didn't take any photos. Clearly drinks were top of mind this time. Service was excellent and attentive. I only wish I was more hungry. Himalayan restaurant on the Windsor town green, nice location, nice ambiance with some soft music playing in the background, we were seated right away by the window, in a booth. My only complaint was the lentil soup was delivered 3 minutes before our entrees showed up, was very delicious.. A true test of a good Indian food restaurant is their chicken tikka masala, my absolute favorite dish when I go out to Indian (which isn't a lot--my wife likes other foods, but sometimes will give in to my craving. I always get the medium flavor, which today was definitely a little hotter than what I am used to, but not too bad.
