The woman who answered the phone was very nice and efficient. She told me how long it'd be until the driver got to us and offered a flat rate off the meter (our driver left the meter on anyway and it was the same amount of $ - so she wasn't ripping us off.) She said she'd call me when the driver arrived. Guess what? The driver got there just when she said he would. She called to tell me he was there, just like she said she would. The guy had to wait for about 10 extra minutes because we were running late, so we tipped him a little extra. The cab didn't stink, either. So we called for a ride home. Same thing. She answers immediately. Tells me how long, remembered me and re-offered the same flat rate (of course,) told me what the cab would look like and that she'd call when he was out front. And it all happened just like that. Plus, this time the cab was a Prius, which was nice. Rose Cab, you keep it up and you'll be the ONLY taxi in SB! You are THE BEST!

They have a special place for all the shared taxies to pick up customers and I did not know about it so I was in the wrong place. That was my mistake. They always us a GPS system in the car to determine the route. Supposedly, the GPS knows the shortest route. When I took it yesterday, the driver took the back roads avoiding all the traffic and avoiding having to go further out of our way on a one way street in order to make a u-turn. With a regular taxi, I always feel like I am being hustled. I never get that feeling because the rate is predetermined by UBER so it is not up to the driver to determine the charge. All in all, I will stick with UBER and never return to a regular taxi unless I am in a pinch.
