Wow! Highly recommend! Feels like a hidden gem, we were one of only two tables on Saturday night and I was blown away. Food was quick and delicious. Staff was super friendly and let us know they are opening up a new spot to be called Spice Kitchen, solely for takeout orders, in the downtown area. I felt well taken care of by the staff. Very relaxed environment and was able to enjoy my meal with my husband and hear each other in conversation. So much better than the competition around the corner Can't wait to come back and try more! Food was 11/10! If I could paint a picture, I felt like Remy in Ratatouille with all of the flavors bursting and swirling. This place is IT!!!

Mushroom Masala and a Tropical IPA

My wife and I were craving some tasty Indian cuisine and decided to try Himalayan Spice for the first time. We had an excellent meal and were blown away by the flavor of the dishes. Definitely a go to spot! We chose Samosa for our appetizer - 2 are included to the order and it comes with mint and tamarind chutney. These were hot and fresh and stuffed with delicious curried potatoes and peas. They were very good and had a spicy seasoning on top. For entrees we chose chicken masala and mushroom masala. The dishes are served in a large bowl and come with rice on the side. We also ordered some naan to scoop up all the incredible sauce. We both loved the mushroom dish and the spice level was perfect (medium hot). This was an all around good meal and service was great. This is a great casual lunch or dinner spot. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge. We definitely had enough for leftovers. The medium hot was pretty spicy so definitely stick to mild if you can't handle the heat. We can't wait to go back and try some other dishes!

I'm finding a new love for Indian, Himalayan and Nepali Cuisine! Everything we had was delicious, seriously!! My favorite dish was the chef special chicken, packed full of flavor.... it took everything not to pick up the bowl and slurp what was left of the sauce! And my favorite appetizer, although they were all very delicious, was the Chicken C MoMo Dumplings!! Also they have a unique selection of different tandoori naan bread. My favorite was the truffle... But they were all delicious! I can't wait to come back and try more of this delicious menu! What we ordered: Chef's special chicken curry C MoMo - appetizer- chicken Gobi Manchurian - appetizer Paneer chili - appetizer Saag with paneer Tandoori shrimp Tandoori mixed- chicken tikka, chicken on the bone, shrimp, and salmon Sun-dried tomato and truffle naan I forgot the name of the cocktail but just think of it as a boozy iced chai tea! Amazing!!

Such a great addition to the awesome restaurant line up on Tennyson St! I placed a lunch order for take out and went with the paneer makhni/makhani lunch special, which came with rice, naan, and a choice of soup or salad. The portion was not huge, with only about 5 pieces of paneer, but was relatively fair for the price ($9.99 + 10% off with a Yelp check-in!). The curry was probably the best makhani I have had in Denver so far... so incredibly creamy and delicious, with the perfect kick of spice! Himalayan Spice is in the process of getting its liquor license and is so excited to start serving some boozy drinks. The staff working when I picked up my order were all so friendly, welcoming, and passionate about creating a positive dining experience for guests. I also really liked looking at the nature pictures hanging on the walls while I waited!

I'm not above repeatedly suggesting to my friends that we order Indian food. And when that doesn't work out, I'm also not above ordering Indian alone, as if I was eating with a bunch of friends. This is how I ended up ordering copious quantities of food from Himalayan Spice...twice in one week. This place is AMAZING. My first order I got the vegetarian family meal with an added lamb curry. (Honestly, the family meals are an amazing deal and absolutely fantastic variety). My second order I got some lunch specials; if you need some work from home joy, this may be the closest thing to it. Yum. Here's what I sampled in total: Dal Tadka, Palak Paneer, Aloo Gobi, Lamb Madras, Chicken Korma, Paneer Makhni, and Baigan Bharta. Every single dish was fantastic. Great complex flavors, spot on textures. The lamb was melt in your mouth, the chicken was off the bone perfectly tender (not dry hard chunks of chicken breast). The Dal wasn't too runny (pet peeve of mine). Even the Aloo Gobi, which isn't usual a go-to dish of mine was awesome. I would say the 'medium' to 'medium/high' heat on my first order was a bit too much for me, so I went mild thereafter. I also had veggie pakoras (excellent! chutneys included!) and some of the most delightful garlicky garlic naan. The kheer was a nice treat to end on. (FYI it does seem to include some mango which makes it a little different in terms of texture and flavor). Everything was packaged expertly, and neatly organized in a paper bag. Score. I couldn't justify ordering any more food alone, (at least this week), but honestly I cannot wait to try some of the other Nepali offerings (those momos for starters....). This is definitely my new FAVORITE place. The search is over!

Great tasting Indian food in the heart of Berkeley, Denver Met friends here for dinner here on a weeknight. There was not a wait, but after tasting the food there should have been! Please come visit or order takeout, I highly recommend it. The staff were really attentive and provided great service. The atmosphere is clean and welcoming and also has ample outdoor seating. The food itself is delicious. We ordered a few curry chicken dishes, a veggie dish, garlic naan and rice. Between the 4 of us we could not finish the portions they gave us, so really great value for the money. I would recommend coming to visit!

Best Indian restaurant in Denver metro, hands down! I can't believe I haven't written a review…read moreyet!! The Spice Room in the Highlands is the best one too, the others are great but this one is the best. A fantastic meal with good service at a great price- hard to come by in Denver! A few dedicated parking spots in front or otherwise on the surrounding streets.. whatever it is, don't let it deter you from coming bc they won't let you down. There's ~15 tables & everything is so fresh! You're served complimentary sauces with a thin roti-like cracker, and the sauces are all so good- my favorite is the cilantro one or the tamarind sweet one.. and they all go great on your dishes. The best appetizers are the samsosa chhole chaat- it's like a deconstructed samosa with crunchy bits & sauces on top, soooo good you won't want a regular samosa again! My other favorites are Chicken 65 & the veggie pakora (fried veg nests). Those 3 alone are enough for 2 people, but if you're super hungry, the entrees won't let you down either! Chicken makhani, biryani, tandoori chicken &/or the curries are where you'll never go wrong. All in all, I suggest you prioritize this Spice Room if you're even slightly an Indian food fan! Their variety of northern & southern Indian foods along with street food dishes are phenomenal.

This location has more of a South Indian menu than the others, which was a nice reason to pick it. We ordered a ton since there were five of us. Tandoori was my favorite, the chicken out of the clay oven was so good. We got three different naans, butter, garlic, and cheese, and the cheesy garlic one was the best of the bunch for me. Also tried the sev puri, pani puri, the appetizer platter, and the paneer dosa, all solid. This place is a classic in the Denver metro area and after finally sitting down here I get why. If you've only ever gotten it delivered like I used to, go sit down at one of the locations at least once. Already planning to go back and work through more of the menu since they have so many items.

(+) Chicken korma had good flavors although would have liked even more of the coconut to shine through. Dosa was excellent! Crispy shell with savory potatoes. Probably my fav dish. Chana masala solid, and spice levels were exactly as ordered. Service was fast Loved the retro vibe (-) The naan was a disappointment and was served cold and soggy. Maybe we just got a bad batch? Overall a B+ for me, I enjoyed it and would return it in the area.

Mantra Cafe refers to having "Nepali Indian Fusion Food" and their menu reflects Himalayan items and classic Indian fare. For our party of three, this is what we ordered: * Pani-Puri $8 * Garlic Cilantro Naan $5 * Rogani Lamb $22 * Village Curry Goat $22 * Basmati Rice (complimentary) Everything was very enjoyable with great flavors and we finished it all. I asked to pay, and they said got that fixed on the bill. They said they included a 5% discount for the wait, but they didn't say that a 20% tip would already be added. Despite having such POOR service, we still tipped $20.00, not knowing tip had already been included. I went to let them know that they could've have said something about the tip being added. They said it wasn't their intention. And I could've reviewed the receipt but they just put the machine to me and asked me to tap without giving the option to review the bill. Thing is, this is a state govt funded work function, and by state policy, we are not allowed to tip over 20% on meals. Either way, food was good, but service was POOR POOR POOR.
