The hotel was nice in the business district. There was the mall right next door and between the mall and the hotel they had an outdoor park that served food and had plenty of activities. The hotel staff was very helpful in many ways . They gave me ideas of restaurants and places to hang out and shop. I would most definitely stay there again. The breakfast was amazing with the cooked to order omelette s and amazing bread dishes. The meats were great also. The happy hour at the Tangerine Bar was excellent. Overall it was a great experience and i am happy I stayed there. The shower was extremely small is the only negative i had

We couldn't have asked for a better hotel in the Paris area. The location may be a little intimidating for most tourists, because it isn't really in the touristy areas. However, I think this was a great location. I wouldn't have changed where we stayed in Paris at all. Right downstairs is a mall with several restaurant choices and tons of shopping. At night, the area was very quiet, so it was perfect if you like a quiet evening. Public transportation was just downstairs from the hotel (literally walk out the door and downstairs and you are there) and it will take you anywhere you might want to go easily. Considering my French is limited (I haven't taken it or used it since high school MANY years ago), the public transportation was extremely easy to follow (just a side note). The room was spacious and tastefully decorated. Staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and accomodating and the breakfast (included as a Hilton Honors Gold member) was excellent. This would certainly be a hotel I would stay in again if I ever get back to Paris!

Stayed Hilton Paris La Defense Hotel for 14 Nights Pluses: * Friendly and helpful multi-lingual staff. Offered advice on several occasions * Usual comfy Hilton beds * Early check-in was accommodated because room was available--always appreciated * Made-to-order eggs or tasty pancakes (delightful...try at least once). Full breakfast buffet with real fresh juice...see pics * Conveniently co-located with RER A Train or Yellow Line Metro Station--La Défense station. Quick 10 mins express train to downtown. Door to door, airport is about 1:20 minutes away; you change RER trains once at Châtelet les Halles station. See tip below. * Also convenient train ride to Palace of Versailles (Château de Versailles), though requires ticket on the "T" Tram line. T Tickets are not inter-changeable with RER or Metro Tickets. Gripes: * No executive lounge or lounge benefits, my biggest gripe * Daily re-log-in to Wi-Fi for 3 devices is required. It's a daily annoyance--why annoy your guests for no technical reason?? * Breakfast items never change, though what's served is fresh and presented with care * Constantly warm room even with heat turned off. Turned on A/C few times in February * Limited dining choices in the area even though in the central business district * Pricey bar, like most hotels. Ouch...10€ for a 0.33L of Heineken draft. Alternative drinking hole in area and short walk: Le Café Moutarde Most evenings, I either stayed downtown after work for dinner or returned to downtown via train for later dinner. Again, train trip is quick if you use RER A Train. Oddity: Main Hotel access location closes at 9 pm because the mall area/CNIT Building closes. You must walk outside and around (giant thumb is landmark) and it's not obvious how to get into hotel. No big deal once you figure it out. Signage is lacking. Airport Connection: 45-50€ taxis to/from Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). 55€ if you reserve a car service. When traveling with luggage to/from airport, I recommend a taxis. Train is fine if luggage is limited to 1 piece. Train from CDG to La Défense station is 11.90€, one-way per person. Do not recommend RER train from airport with luggage during rush hour (M-F)--no room during rush hour to/from Châtelet les Halles station to La Défense station on RER A Train. Tip: Recommend negotiating a rate that includes breakfast and Wi-Fi Internet for best value. Tip II: Recommend rooms facing outward toward Les Quadre Temps. During our 3 nights in Paris, we stayed at Hilton La Defense for 2 nights. It's a modern hotel, with all the amenities that you'll need from a 4-star hotel. It's located right off the last stop of the M1 metro, at the La Defense stop. It appears to be connected to the mall, so it's relatively easy to find, just look for the signs that say Hilton when you come out of the metro. We had a room on the 3rd floor, only 5 floors total, with the view of the atrium below. The wi-fi is FREE in the lobby area, but since our room was looking at the lobby (just 2 floors above), we were able to still get free wi-fi access from our room. Otherwise, I think you have to pay for wi-fi in the rooms! We lucked out. :) Bed was comfortable, bathroom was a good size and there was a small sofa in the room too. :) Dim lighting, but suitable for the decor, etc. Our package came with free breakfast in the morning downstairs, they start serving at 7am. Breakfast ranges from meats, cheese, cereal, yogurt, fruits, oatmeal, juices, milk, smoked salmon, eggs, sausage, bacon, hash brown, breads, croissants, etc. We felt full from this well stocked breakfast buffet. yum! Staff was courteous and friendly. If you come back to the hotel after 11:00 pm at night, you can only enter through the entry way by the taxi stands (instead of through the mall). There are very few eateries open late at night past 11:00 pm in the La Defense area, so just take note of that. Would recommend that you eat inside the city before coming back to rest. We were able to find a pizza / pasta place nearby to grab a bite to eat after 11:00 pm on Saturday night though. :)

The relatively modern design of the area and building felt cold and stark compared to the beauty and all the antiquity of Paris. Even the interior seems somewhat dark and sterile. Nice enough hotel, but it is far from the stuff we went to see, albeit a convenient metro ride away. With five floors, our second floor junior suite had a view of la arche de la defence, as well as the taxi staging area. Don't tell but when I have a nice view, and I always strive to, I sometimes leave the drapes open. Here that would have meant the taxi drivers lined up waiting to pick up hotel guests would have a nice view into our room. That's not good for anybody, so the drapes stayed closed. So these are location and design sort of things, that you can't do much about. The service was great, and the staff friendly and knowledgable, speaking English relatively well and putting up with my French. Rooms were uncharicteristically spacious for Paris and both the bed, and believe or not, the sofa bed were comfortable. No ice machine so room service is called if you need some. They took a while one of the two times we needed some. Housekeeping did a great job and was prompt meeting our requests. No Hilton Honors room upgrade was available to us, nor any different view, although the hotel didn't feel full. We didn't partake in the complimentary for gold members breakfast, kids and jet lag and all. We didn't go to Paris to eat at the hotel.

This is the grand arche by the hotel

I stayed here last week, for a week in Paris, while my husband had to travel for work. It is the last stop on the metro and located in a large business district. While it doesn't feel like Paris, it's just a short metro ride to many tourist areas. The hotel staff was extremely friendly. I'm sure they have to endure a ridiculous amount of questions every day from travelers. You can buy metro tickets in a vending like machine next to the lobby. The breakfast was great, the rooms we're clean, and it's very safe outside too, even at night. Special thanks to Suzon, at the front desk for all of her help during the week. And there was another man, I didn't get his name but they were all helpful! The hotel is attached to a big mall, but the air conditioning was limited and it was very crowded on a Saturday. There is another small mall next to it as well where I bought wine and water throughout the week. Again, it's all very safe around the area. My only complaint - and not against the hotel- is not being able to find where my uber drivers where because they aren't allowed to pick you up in front of the hotel

Nice hotel in the middle of the Défense business area. Plenty of things to go, within a 2 minute walk, in your spare time.

My trip immediately began rocky when as I arrived here from CDG I left my wallet either on the top of the taxi or dropped in front of the hotel. The staff here attempted to assist me, allowed me to call my banks to cancel my cards and tried to reach out to the cab company. The one troublesome thing I found was I asked them could I see the footage of the camera to see who picked up my wallet and they told me they couldn't. I was told that I would need to go to the police station and get their authorization to allow the staff to view the video-- that makes absolutely no sense! The hotel staff was very helpful. I needed to make two reservations that the website was totally in French and they took the time to help me out, which I appreciated. The room itself was decent but it was extremely warm and made it difficult to sleep. The one pillow provided was terrible and it didn't allow for much comfortable. The sofa bed was fine for my daughter but don't believe it's suitable for an adult as their is a bar in the middle of the bed. Overall, I had a pretty decent stay here and appreciated the assistance that was provided. The hotel is a short distance from the Westfield mall and La Defense train station.

The rooms are left in a disgusting state of disrepair. The bathrooms stink of backed up grossness from sewer stench of the bowels of hell. There is caked on dust in the crevices of the built in furniture that cannot be ignored. The carpets are fabric sludge. The rooms are sprayed with some sort of room freshener. We suspect the room freshener is a feeble attempt to mask the sewer type stench emanating in the room. There is housekeeping. I happened to walk by one of the housekeepers who looked disheveled, unkempt, and wreaked of marijuana (she also had a killer smokers cough). Gross. The customer service is awful, indifferent, and sad. I would never ever recommend this dump of a hotel. The Sofitel Montevideo is not a 5 star hotel. You will not have a 5 star experience. Terrible. Just Terrible. The casino is just okay.

It took an hour via taxi to get to Gare du Nord at 9am, so if you have a train to catch and don't want to rush, leave a. lot. of. time. Taxis/Uber's take at least 10 minutes to arrive, and Uber can't even find the place on a map. It's a 60 minute walk to the jardin on Champs Elysee, which is great on a beautiful day, but obviously not practical. There are restaurants within 15-20 minutes walk, but nothing nearby. The grout in the bathroom was peeling, there are no outlet converters, and the nespresso machine gave too large a pour for the small cups they give in the rooms. Room service offers a very basic, not at all French menu. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you really had to stay here. People get really excited about the Starbucks in the lobby, which I find sad because you're in Paris!
