They have the fluffiest beds in Europe!
When you're visiting Paris, there is one street that everyone knows. If you're standing in the middle of it all, at the Arc de Triomphe, you'll see the glittering shops down Av. des Champs Elysees to the park on one end, and Av. Charles de Gaulle running in a straight line all the way down to La Defense (the white square "arch") at the other end.
This Pullman is about a 5-minute walk to La Defense, the mall and the Metro station. Very convenient in the heart of this "downtown" skyscraper district of Paris.
The bell hop was relatively quick in getting our luggage up to our room. Nacho had immediately konked out in the fluffy bed so we didn't answer the door when the bell hop knocked. Instead of just abandoning the luggage, the bell hop called to make sure someone knew that the luggage was outside.
The front desk was very nice in helping us send a message to a guest in another room. They do so via the television so the electronic message is delivered immediately!
Their concierge is very helpful with directions and store hours. There is a Corner Cafe at the lobby level, where you can make your own fancy coffee (think Nespresso machine but bigger).
Each room is equipped with high-speed Internet, in-room safe for your laptop, TV with international channels, air conditioning, minibar, 24-hour room service and laundry service. Nacho stumbled upon free softcore porn on Ch. 17. It doesn't seem to be on every night though. In the bathroom, there is a regular showerhead and a sunflower rain showerhead directly above head. Free wi-fi for sure in the lobby. I think it's plug-in internet in the rooms.
Their full English breakfast costs 22 Euros (included with our stay) but I would not recommend it. The only hot items served were eggs, sausage and bacon, but even an unlimited amount of these isn't worth the price. We made our own ham and cheese baguette sandwich (when in Paris...!). Unlike the spreads at other European hotels we stayed at, this one really lacked variety.
The best thing about Pullman La Defense is their beds. Fluffiest ever and trust me - I stayed in 7 different hotels in 7 countries in 2 weeks. The pillowtop on top of the mattress, large stuffed pillows and fluffy duvets really make this hotel memorable. I would have stayed in bed all day if it weren't for the LV store calling. read more
