The hotel was chosen by a tour that I participated and if I ever travel back to Paris, I will return to the property. A comfortable, hidden gem in busy Paris, the Holiday Inn St. Germane meets the Holiday Inn standard for comfort. A bit small compared to a typical American room, it is quite comfortable size-wise. Remember, it meets European and NOT American standards so there are some things that are found in American hotels, but not Europe.
Pros:
* Outstanding multi-lingual staff, the majority speaking English, and French as well
* Comfortable room - A/C works well
* Small fridge in room, hot water kettle with a variety of instant coffee and teas
* Great breakfast buffet (bread (oh so flaky, and tasty), cold cuts, fresh yogurt, fruits, etc.) located in the basement - typical European fare, you will be ready for the day
* Bar on site with wine and some beer
Cons:
* NO gym - if interested, you can pay ~22 Euros to go to a local "gym"
* No microwave, BUT there is a small fridge, iron/ironing board
* No clock so you will need to use your phone for your alarm
* The shower/tub controls will take a bit of effort to figure out - three knobs to control temperature, overhead shower/wand - either way, water pressure is great and the water gets HOT! Note - there is a window between the bathroom and room so unless you are by yourself, pull the shades down
* Television - not your usual selection is available - I watched/listened to lots of CNBC and Bloomberg. And of course, there is lots of French stations - many with American shows, dubbed in French...however, you are in Paris, so enjoy the "City of Lights"
Located within walking distance of many of Paris' famous landmarks, it is ideally located for the tourist that want to stay away from the hustle and bustle from the main "touristy" areas. Close to many restaurants / cafes / small grocery stores other than the lack of a "gym," the property is one to stay in for a visit to Paris. read more
