Staff is to busy socializing among themselves. They pay no attention to guests. Should have stayed at the Westin.

Renaissance Paris La Defense Hotel - Sorry for the messy room. I forgot to take a photo when I checked in. King sized bed and sofa bed for my daughter

Things are clean and modern so it's not cramped likes the other times I've stayed in the city center. The beds and rooms are larger than you would find downtown which is what families need. There are a lot of business guests also which is totally fine. Their breakfast buffet was awesome, with high quality ingredients and healthy options. They have an excellent lounge for Bonvoy Platinum members. Their gym is much better than your typical hotel gym. The front office and cleaning staff are so helpful and friendly. It's only a 20 min transit ride to the center or everything so we really thought the Renaissance was an excellent hotel for our needs. For sure we will come here again! Thanks Renaissance for providing an awesome home base for our one week vacation in Paris! Merci!

My trip immediately began rocky when as I arrived here from CDG I left my wallet either on the top of the taxi or dropped in front of the hotel. The staff here attempted to assist me, allowed me to call my banks to cancel my cards and tried to reach out to the cab company. The one troublesome thing I found was I asked them could I see the footage of the camera to see who picked up my wallet and they told me they couldn't. I was told that I would need to go to the police station and get their authorization to allow the staff to view the video-- that makes absolutely no sense! The hotel staff was very helpful. I needed to make two reservations that the website was totally in French and they took the time to help me out, which I appreciated. The room itself was decent but it was extremely warm and made it difficult to sleep. The one pillow provided was terrible and it didn't allow for much comfortable. The sofa bed was fine for my daughter but don't believe it's suitable for an adult as their is a bar in the middle of the bed. Overall, I had a pretty decent stay here and appreciated the assistance that was provided. The hotel is a short distance from the Westfield mall and La Defense train station.

The hotel staff was very helpful in many ways . They gave me ideas of restaurants and places to hang out and shop. I would most definitely stay there again. The breakfast was amazing with the cooked to order omelette s and amazing bread dishes. The meats were great also. The happy hour at the Tangerine Bar was excellent. Dates of stay: September 9 - September 13, 2022 Room: 204…read more I was optimistic that this hotel, just outside of Paris, would be the perfect place for the Paris portion of our honeymoon, but it was pretty disappointing on multiple fronts. The first is that there was no upgrades available; seems odd that a Diamond member staying four nights would get a little something, but apparently not. Not the end of the world, just another little thing to add to the pile. Check in was at least efficient, we were able to get our keys and get over to our room within just a couple of minutes. The room however, left much to be desired. Not even sure where to start: The piece of art near the door was taken off the wall and remained sitting on the shelf in the entryway for the entire stay. There were hooks in the living room for another piece of art, but that was nowhere to be found. The room was relatively spacious for France, with a decent-sized closet and television, plus a small couch with a table that would have been good for a meal brought into the room. The mini fridge was helpful for stashing waters to keep hydrated and USB ports were plentiful for charging. The bed was also firm and had enough pillows for both of us. The bathroom was a big disappointment. There is no shelf in the shower, which is very small. I ended up tucking a towel into the rack in the back and stuffing items into the folds. Sadly, each day housekeeping undid this and I had to redo it to take a shower. The counter in the bathroom is a bit too small for two people though I appreciated the makeup mirror to check Housekeeping was scattershot; some days we received more water and others we did not. Some days we received a new complement of toiletry items and some days we did not. A crib sat a couple doors down from our room in the hallway for the first two days of our trip. Thankfully it was devoid of children when we came across it! The carpets on the second floor always looked as though they hadn't been vacuumed in days and I was relieved that I never dropped anything on the floor as I would then have to determine if I wanted to risk picking it up again or leave it as a gift of the wind, given the condition of the carpet. The gym was decent for the size of the hotel and never too busy, though why they left a giant container of disinfectant wipes open on the counter instead of in the container just above it was odd to me; each morning I had to throw away several dry wipes to get to one that would actually disinfect. Do not use the currency exchange services! When we visited, the Euro was at about even with the dollar, but the hotel was offering .77 Euros to the dollar, a giant windfall for the hotel! I just wish the other Hilton hotels in Paris weren't so expensive as this one was a bit of a dud.

Sofitel - Sofitel la Défense

This review is for the Sofitel Montevideo, Uruguay…read more The hotel is located in a historic site of over a 100 year old building. The lobby is stunning, but that is it! The rooms are left in a disgusting state of disrepair. The bathrooms stink of backed up grossness from sewer stench of the bowels of hell. There is caked on dust in the crevices of the built in furniture that cannot be ignored. The carpets are fabric sludge. The rooms are sprayed with some sort of room freshener. We suspect the room freshener is a feeble attempt to mask the sewer type stench emanating in the room. There is housekeeping. I happened to walk by one of the housekeepers who looked disheveled, unkempt, and wreaked of marijuana (she also had a killer smokers cough). Gross. The customer service is awful, indifferent, and sad. I would never ever recommend this dump of a hotel. The Sofitel Montevideo is not a 5 star hotel. You will not have a 5 star experience. Terrible. Just Terrible. The casino is just okay.

This hotel was perfectly serviceable, albeit really average. While close to nearby office buildings…read morewhich may be great for meetings, it's really, really far from the city center, including points of transit. It took an hour via taxi to get to Gare du Nord at 9am, so if you have a train to catch and don't want to rush, leave a. lot. of. time. Taxis/Uber's take at least 10 minutes to arrive, and Uber can't even find the place on a map. It's a 60 minute walk to the jardin on Champs Elysee, which is great on a beautiful day, but obviously not practical. There are restaurants within 15-20 minutes walk, but nothing nearby. The grout in the bathroom was peeling, there are no outlet converters, and the nespresso machine gave too large a pour for the small cups they give in the rooms. Room service offers a very basic, not at all French menu. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you really had to stay here. People get really excited about the Starbucks in the lobby, which I find sad because you're in Paris!

Even as he prepares to open another property in central Paris, his advice and employ of the best hoteliers is evident. Thank you Michael and Catherine! It is no wonder that the Dauphin is featured in the Eurostar in-train magazine. Its value is extreme. Set in the heart of Puteaux, it is a stone's throw from the city square, 10 minutes' walk from the Esplanade Metro of Line 1 and 3 blocks from the Puteaux Velibe' station (think public bicycles for rent at 1 euro per day with stations all over Paris). Two buildings surround a central courtyard garden which is an elegant spot for a private evening aperitif with colleagues or friends. The classy lobby features daily newspapers from at least 10 countries and languages (besides Paris' own), and a jumbo wall television if you prefer to watch the world cup match in a quiet roar with your fellow guests. In the morning, the scene changes with a buffet of fresh croissant, danish, ham and cheese, dried and fresh fruit, fresh juices, bottled water, and a self-serve espresso machine. This last trip, I got a peek at the remodel model room. Hardwood floors and sheik tiled and lighted bathrooms will be the norm. I can't wait! --Wi-Fi permeates the hotel, but can be sketchy in the back building. --Courtyard lighting was under repair this visit, but concierge accompanied me up the steps with a torch flashlight. Nice! --Scented oil (your choice from five) and classical music greets your room entry. --Air Conditioning (Climatization) and Heat in every room. --Room service selections are limited, but with no restaurant to support are mostly for those who are just too tired to venture out to sample the city's culinary delights. Venture forth! --Rooms are extremely small by American standards, but so goes the price. Remember, you are in Europe! --as with most cottage hotels, due to the rooms' proximity and size you can hear the comings, goings and goings-on of your neighbors --beds are a bit "springey" for my bad back, but pillows are plush; how about featherbeds? --some towels are a bit rough and need replacing
