My only complaint is that I was not able to fully enjoy this hotel. Upon entering, I really thought this place was beautiful. My room was very nice however just a little small. I was barely in the room 10 hrs but I really have to say this is a very nice hotel. I did not try breakfast but from the looks of it, it was well worth it. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Bathroom was a shower stall only which was just fine for me. I was only staying one night for business and wish I had a little longer to stay.

This is located off the highway 20, near the campus of University of Northern Iowa. You have choices of two other hotels that share a common road but easy to see and navigate the correct road to find the main entrance. The facility is clean, fairly new even though I believe it's is 3 years old. The front desk staff was fast and efficient. The room was very clean, and the business center was functional and well stocked. Their fitness center was well designed and the treadmill tv screens worked, a common complaint I usually have at hotel fitness centers. I gave them 4 of 5 stars due to no staff member helped during the breakfast transition. I sat there for 10 minutes waiting for someone to give a menu or direct me to the buffet line. I finally flagged down a server who thought I was resting at a table and didn't want to be disturbed. I wasn't that tired but overall my experience was a positive one at this Hilton.

Table 1912 - Table setting and view

Table 1912

(13 reviews)

This place is not upscale or fine dining. I was so disappointed and embarrassed. I made…read morereservations for my anniversary and had company from out of town. We drove up from Cedar Rapids. This restaurant is in senior facility. you have to walk through a pub to get it to it. We walked in through the pub and food was being delivered on a robot with orange trays. We entered the dining room and it felt like a convention center. Not white table cloths, tables too big for an intimate dinner. Drinks were made in the pub we walked through not served the right glasses for the drink. Food tasted good but was over drizzled with sauces. One dessert came out frozen and was so hard a knife wouldn't cut through it. When the waitress brought the check she said any other plans this weekend and we said it was our anniversary , which was asked at the time I made the reservation, she then gave us a dessert for free.... Also not what I am looking for at fine dining. It was a real disappointment.

Table 1912 is back! Exterior signage has Table 1912 on the left, Gilmore's Pub on the right and…read moredouble glass entry doors to the right of that patio. Go straight and take a left through Gilmore's, to reach Table 1912. Wasn't super intuitive but you'll figure it out. Attended their pre-opening dinner, and tried, well, everything. Comfortable, friendly, attentive service (note: when you make your reservation you can request your server). A beautifully paced 4-course meal. I'm sure if you wanted to you could just order what you want and be done with it, but otherwise ordering of drinks, salad/soup course, entree and dessert is paced out, allowing for visiting, enjoyment of the restaurant, drinks, food, and your company. Our meal was about 2 hours. We started with the baked clams, bacon jam croquettes, and pork belly. Clams were my favorite but all were wonderful. The pork belly was a delightful combo of sweet and salty. For salads we got the ginger orange salad and the steak salad (they were out of the carrot bisque). The ginger orange salad was a nicely balanced sweet, bitter (from the greens), and salty (parm crisp) concoction. The steak in that salad was incredibly tender. A classic combination of flavors with olives, feta, quality Italian dressing. For entrees our table got the stuffed chicken, lamb, and the strip loin. The lamb was tender, tasty, with the right amount of gamey flavor, and the mushroom strudel was to die for. Crunchy, delicious, really incredible flavors--would be great as a stand alone appetizer option as well. Our friend enjoyed his chicken. The steak was fine, but probably would try something else next time (it was a little tough, and the garlic mashed potatoes were only ok). On to dessert. Wow! Turtle cheesecake (forgot picture) was very good, our friend loved the red velvet cake-beautiful presentation. But the star of the show was the lowly ice cream sundae. Usually just an after thought on a menu for kids or the unadventurous. But oh.my.god. A scoop of vanilla and a scoop of chocolate ice cream, both from Hansen's dairy. A house made cookie crumbled for the base, (note: everything on the menu is house made best i can tell), black cherry sauce, chocolate sauce, and marshmallow cream. Soooooo good. Enough for two for sure but don't feel bad if you don't want to share. A full bar, good beer selection, and a nice featured cocktail menu. Check this place out--you will not be disappointed.
