Georgian Hills Winery has started a Friday night Dinner Series!…read moreWe joined them to celebrate my birthday on the Friday launch. The wine and service here are always over the top, and the dinner menu DID NOT disappoint. Our table ordered everything on the menu (6 - 8 items) for 'sharing' and absolutely everything was delicious! And the atmosphere was incredible. Outside, gentle breeze, warm but not hot, quiet and peaceful. A birthday dinner turned into a fantastic and memorable evening!

The L'Acadie (good amount of sweetness, pairs well with spicy food) and their 2019 Chardonnay were my favourites. There's a cozy outdoor space that has firepits and tables with a small food menu. We already had plenty of cheese and had dinner later, so we only tried their soup. Hot soup is extra tasty when you're outside in the cooler weather!

I highly recommend stopping here for some Ciders. The garlic parm fries were also tasty, and the store had some good stuff in it. Can't wait to take my wife here, the vibes are excellent. I got her into the drinks from LCBO, I know she'll love the Cider House even more!

So glad Renee was our server, she went above and beyond explaining some of the history of the building from the 1900's a the historic pig named Clark who was apart of the Clarksburg country fair. Clark is the mascot of this great place. Hard to pick our favorite ciders since the Flight of the Classic was all great and the beer flight When Pigs Fly was also great.

We were looking for somewhere we could sit and work off our laptops for some hours and the café had ample seats and stable wifi. There's a bar area as well so you could go for an afternoon buzz. They seemed to have interesting options on the menu ranging from sandwiches to other small or shareable dishes. Read somewhere bread was from the Collingwood Bread Company. I always enjoy locally made baked goods. Latte and matcha latte were solid. Stole a bite of the smoked trout sandwich - if you love one of those smoked salmon creamy tangy spread sandwiches this is definitely a good one. Pictures not taken are the grilled cheese and cheese scone. Smoked cheese was used in the grilled cheese sandwich. I enjoy all kinds of cheeses so I was pleased with the smoky kick. Cheese scone was not heated up properly and somehow the cheese, despite looking like a typical golden cheddar, was not flavourful at all. Dough base of the scone lacked the buttery, flaky texture. I'd say skip it. Hm honestly this place deserves more reviews.

Party Time is the name on our receipt and it resulted in a great time. He was very helpful especially when explaining to me that the Caesar was a Bloody Mary type drink and not the salad I thought it was. That aside the Caesar and Monkey Suit, an Irish Stout paired well with my Mushroom soup. My spouse had the Mushroom soup and a Route 26, Brown Ale. We shared Beer Barbecue Sauce Chicken Wings that had carrot and celery sticks plus fries. The decor was great inside and the view of the Blue Mountain Ski Lift was unique. By the time we were done I almost needed a chair lift to my car.

What I like about Northwinds is that it doesn't try to be any more than a pub - the menu is exactly as expected (heavy on burgers, wings, etc) and they have an extensive beer offering. The prices are good for Blue Mountain and the service is fast. I had the Spicy Dill Burger ($26) which was a generous portion and a huge mountain of fries. The burger was great but I really could not finish it. The fries were fantastic. I also ordered a Brewhouse caesar ($16) which was fantastic. I wasn't a huge fan of the cauliflower bites ($15) that I ordered, but that may have been because I was extremely full and could not stomach any more food. My friends' meals also looked good and I heard no complaints. Definitely will be back next year, if we can get a seat! It's always packed, and for good reason.
