They also run classes every day of the week, M-F during the summer which has helped my daughter retain the skills she learned in the class. The price of the classes are also amazing. They beat every program I found. We live 18 miles from this pool and drive every day of the week to go to class, so that must say something. There is a large sunny field you can watch your child from and there is a shaded sundeck with chairs and tables you can also watch from a shady spot. The staff is amazing, they remembered my daughter after a whole winter and said hi to her by name. The head guard is super kind. All of the staff are sweet with the children and they keep them in line. My daughter has also taken ballet at this center. The room is nice and big. It's not as pretty as some ballet schools, but the instructors are great, they are kind and attentive to the kids and fun. You can only watch once a month which is good because then my daughter wasn't looking to find me every class. Inside the center there is a padded corner with lots of toddler-K sized toys. My kids like to get there early (before class) and play with the marble toys and lincoln logs. This is also a ping pong table, suffleboard table, foosball table and 2 pool tables in there. Outside, in the back there is a sweet new play structure that has that pretty rubber padding stuff. We love this place!

I think what I liked the best about the experience for the party, was that our hostess walked the kids around to the rides and through the arcade so they could familiarize themselves with the layout of the Boardwalk. As I was talking with the adults, we were discussing competitors like Bowlero and Lucky Strike and how unreasonably priced it is for a family of four now a days. Just the arcades there are so expensive! Here, the kids were able to make their tokens last for hours and walked away with some fun prizes too. I hope the prices never get ridiculously high here. First let me point out that the one easily missed sign for the park clearly states Bill Beck Play Ground. This could have affected my decision to visit when I did. On a positive note I was able to check off one more park I've visited. It was actually a nice park to visit. My biggest challenge as a 70 year old man was the fact that there were no public restrooms available. This inconvenience cut my visit short and I ended up going to the Library to relax and use the restroom before the car show. On the day I visited the place was practically empty. One man enjoying the exercise equipment and a coule of kids on the play structure. I'm going to guess the kids were with the man. In addition to the play structure and exercise equipment was a nice field where all sorts of games can be played. There were several picnic tables available with a reasonable amount of mature Shade trees. The addition of a public restroom would have greatly boosted my star rating, even a porta potty with a hand washing station would have been acceptable. I've talked to El Cajon locals nearly my age that lived in the neighborhood as kids who had fond memories of Bill Beck Play Ground. The tables were in good order and the chairs comfortable enough. The building offered a stage, clean restrooms, an area for the caterer to set up, and a good sounds system. The staff at the front as you walk into the building were welcoming and friendly. There are several parking lots and one adjacent to the banquet hall we were in. The land escaping immediately around the building we were in was very nice, but I did notice that the gold course needed some TLC. The grass was very uneven and not well kept up.

The damage was so severe, a big remodel is needed. Yet all that was told to my family and I was about minor work: new carpet, wall painting, new doors, updated drape holders, and the remodel will be done in a couple weeks. It has now been 3 different "completion dates", and not once we were told by the coordinator. We had to reach out every time and ask what exactly is going on there. Basically, there is not a 100% guaranteed date whatsoever when the work will be done (approximate completion is mid April.) Needless to say, MY WEDDING IS COMPLETELY CHANGING VENUES WITH ONLY 3 WEEKS AWAY!!!! (Pitiful stress and anxious memory I'll always remember.) Thankfully I found out from my CATERING VENDOR that all March & most April events were being postponed &/or canceled. So the coordinator can notify other renters but not us? Really. I definitely feel ignored knowing we were reaching out and keeping in touch about the remodel... I've been more overwhelmed with wedding planning in the past 24 hours verses in the past year. Especially after speaking with quite a few places and knowing my venue budget could double with very slim options left... Good luck to those renters. You will need it!!!
