This place has a really nice park and beautiful trails. I always feel save walking here with my dogs.

My significant other and I came here to Hillside Park yesterday to our surprise there was a plethora of people! The weekends have been quiet but on a Wednesday there were dog walkers, soccer practice for kids with their families, joggers, groups of people just out having fun and getting some sunshine. We came prepared, we brought a big blanket, neck pillow, jackets, radio, snacks, water, frisbee, sunscreen, sunglasses, camera, etc. To tell you the truth it looked like we were going on a week long vacation we had so much stuff. So since the kiddies were playing soccer on the main field we decided to walk up the hill and to the other side of the park where the picnic tables are and I'm so glad we did! Wow, a little bit of Oregon is what we call this park. It's our sanctuary, our safe haven from all the crowds and smog of the city. It's like you are in another world. There is a trail that leads to a charming brown wooden bridge. I even saw a holly berry tree, Prickly Pear Cactus, lots of pine trees that photographed well, bright vivid green grass, Sycamore trees and so many others. It was a nice little nature walk and hike. Also, got a good work-out with playing frisbee for almost an hour. We had a wonderful little adventure yesterday and so glad we went! The only way to make this score one star higher is to add a bench or some chairs to the parts of the park that have none and also not close up the bathrooms so early. It's not good to have to walk a mile away to the bathrooms and be closed out!

Hillside Community Center is a great family park. It is NOT a dog park. Dogs are welcomed in the park but MUST BE ON LEASH! If you happen to be enjoying the park with your dog and do not have them on a leash, you can be ticketed. The Rec is opened to the public from 3pm to 9pm Monday-Friday. It is closed on the weekends and most holidays. There is a game room with a pool table, Foosball, ping pong and many others. All you need is an ID to play. Inside the game room is where you can find all he information on center events, classes and other parks. The closest off leash dog parks would be Wells Park or Harry Griffen Park.

I really appreciate all the new additions and renovations. We were out of town for about a month and when we came back, so many of the play stations had been updated. It definitely did not go unnoticed and shows they are investing in the space. One thing I love about this place is how often the staff cleans and reorganizes. No matter how busy it gets, it never feels messy. It also never smells like feet in there, which is honestly a big problem at other indoor playgrounds. The staff does a great job maintaining a clean and pleasant environment. The only downside for us is that our daughter is growing out of it a little too fast. She can get bored if there are not other kids her age to play with. This is truly a great spot for younger children. I do wish they offered an hourly rate instead of requiring a full day pass, because sometimes you just need a quick hour or two to let the kids get their wiggles out. Overall, it is a wonderful, well maintained playground and we will continue recommending it to families with younger kids.

The place is always very clean and the staff are constantly sanitizing, especially after a child leaves a station, which we really appreciate. It is a great place to bring our son and very fulfilling in terms of fun, excitement, and play. It is definitely one of our favorite spots. The staff are always kind and respectful, and it never feels overcrowded. There is always just the right amount of kids and parents to enjoy the space comfortably.

The laser tag was extremely fun for the kids! Man, I had forgotten how much fun laser tag is until I saw my kid and her friends playing. Then the party room was simple, but served its purpose really well. Our party hostess, Karrina, was really great with the kids and made sure the party kept moving along. I think what I liked the best about the experience for the party, was that our hostess walked the kids around to the rides and through the arcade so they could familiarize themselves with the layout of the Boardwalk. As I was talking with the adults, we were discussing competitors like Bowlero and Lucky Strike and how unreasonably priced it is for a family of four now a days. Just the arcades there are so expensive! Here, the kids were able to make their tokens last for hours and walked away with some fun prizes too. I hope the prices never get ridiculously high here. I grew up going to Parkway Bowl and the Boardwalk. I am so happy that the accessible pricing has remained. Additional shout outs to MC and Noelle (staff members who were very helpful and attentive). Please don't change Parkway! Thank you for allowing us to host an epic party!

It was convenient to enjoy a satisfying meal without having to leave the facility, allowing us to maximize our time enjoying the attractions. The bowling alley was another highlight of the visit. It was clean, well-maintained, and fun for both kids and adults. The lanes were easy to use, and the atmosphere was energetic without being overwhelming, making it a great activity for families and groups. One of the most impressive aspects of the park was that it never felt overcrowded. The spacious layout and well-managed guest flow meant short wait times and plenty of room to move around comfortably. We will definitely come back. ALL 3 kids, plus my bestie and I had a BLAST

First let me point out that the one easily missed sign for the park clearly states Bill Beck Play Ground. This could have affected my decision to visit when I did. On a positive note I was able to check off one more park I've visited. It was actually a nice park to visit. My biggest challenge as a 70 year old man was the fact that there were no public restrooms available. This inconvenience cut my visit short and I ended up going to the Library to relax and use the restroom before the car show. On the day I visited the place was practically empty. One man enjoying the exercise equipment and a coule of kids on the play structure. I'm going to guess the kids were with the man. In addition to the play structure and exercise equipment was a nice field where all sorts of games can be played. There were several picnic tables available with a reasonable amount of mature Shade trees. The addition of a public restroom would have greatly boosted my star rating, even a porta potty with a hand washing station would have been acceptable. I've talked to El Cajon locals nearly my age that lived in the neighborhood as kids who had fond memories of Bill Beck Play Ground. They had the luxury of running across the street to use the restroom at home. I did have a nice picnic and took a few pictures to share. Thanks for reading . Enjoy the photos. ¹
