I've tried many lunches here when friends invite me and it's never good Today I ordered a hot chicken in sesame sauce wrap with tomato cheese and spinach ? I couldn't eat the other half it tasted so bad ! My friends pizza was nasty too and we both came home sick to our stomachs The common denominator was the tough rubbery chicken in both our lunches Very unpleasant lunch read more

We tried their AUCTIONEER Sandwich, $9.95 Sesame-miso chicken with spinach, tomato and cheese. It was absolutely disgusting. The chicken was WET and completely unseasoned. PLAIN WHITE CHICKEN STRIPS. The wrap was dripping with wet juice. No one would eat it. Do gross. Unforgivable. Absolutely vile. read more

Ok, so it's been YEARS since I've written a review. And I let a lot of $h!t slide, but my experience here earlier this afternoon warrants me coming out of retirement. One slice of pizza=15min Quality of pizza slice= burnt Quality of customer service=exceptionally oblivious Used to come here a lot a few years back, do not remember it being this bad. Management needs to step in. End of line. read more

Love their pizza and wraps! The salads are always fresh and wonderful . The staff are friendly and service oriented. Love the choice of indoor or outdoor seating.. read more

Good artisanal pizza, never had a bad slice. People always friendly! Nice, homey setting.

The location and staff were all great. The flavor of the food was on point but the pizza was not cooked properly. Took a peek into their kitchen and they have a very small commercial pizza oven The amount of pizzas they were serving on a Sunday evening was never going to be properly cooked with such a small underpowered oven. I notice the same issue at many New England pizza places. If they invested in a proper oven that can reach and hold the required temps to make pizza they would be much better but sadly Hillside fails to hit the mark. read more

Not your typical small-town pizza house; The style is a little more gourmet/artisanal. Reliably delicious, high quality toppings and ingredients. The Bernardston location's space is welcoming, comfortable, clean, and bright. The staff are always cheerful and friendly. I grab a slice or two for lunch about once a week. Absolutely love it. read more

Very fast service. Quality farm to table ingredients. Their seasonal pizza with the butternut squash is to die for.

A quick stop off I-91 to feed a hungry teenager and we find a gem. Exquisite crafted pizzas with fresh ingredients sourced locally. Unfortunately I could not try their tempting beer list (teenager does not yet have a drivers license). Very friendly service even when it got busy. read more

What a cute little place! Staff was very friendly, place was extremely clean and the prices reasonable. My husband and I stopped in on our way back from New Hampshire for a quick bite. We both ordered the Lunch Break. Absolutely tasty! Loved the different flavors put together. If I had room, I would have grabbed cookie, just looking at them had me drooling. read more

Great vegan pizza, enough space inside and very clean. I come here whenever I visit Yankee Candle. Great service!

Hillside Pizza is our go-to place for really good pizza in the Brattleboro area. Sadly, it is about 12 miles south, in the building that used to be Streeter's general store in Bernardston. But if you happen to be in or near Bernardston, I highly recommend the pizza. They have an excellent selection of toppings, the ingredients are organic, the crusts are excellent, and they are not stingy with their toppings. They have several different sauce options, but we usually just get the regular tomato sauce, which is really yummy. Today we had a 16" pie with Kalamata olives, broccoli and tomatoes on a whole wheat crust (an option for $1 extra). It really hit the spot. I wish these guys would open up a store in Brattleboro. read more

This is a charming pizza joint. The pizza was fresh and the crust was delicious. Must try Hillside.

Top notch food and service. Love the pizza and salads. One of the best pizza shops around

This place is on our pandemic shortlist for takeout. Since we never eat in restaurants anymore that means I get to eat Hillside once a week, right? I'm able to eat gluten again but still regularly order their GF crust, particularly for Eatcha Greens, because it is crispy and chewy and delightful. Take and bake also a great option for families -- we like to buy an extra so we can be lazy about cooking all weekend. read more

Pro: the pizza is delicious. Con: the notion of customer service is lost on these guys. I called last night to place a pick up order at 6:45. I was promptly told that the kitchen closes 15 minutes before scheduled closing, you know, the time on the website, and Yelp, and presumably a sign in the window. I pointed out that it was 15 minutes before closing. They couldn't do it she insisted; the kitchen was closed. So, heads up, if you want a to go pizza from this joint, call SIXTEEN minutes before closing, otherwise you're out of luck read more

Amazing pizza! Try their uncooked take-away option and cook your pie at home!! Such a great idea! Wraps are equally as delicious, although I wish they would expand they're options - occasionally they will have a great off-menu option, so be sure to look!! Some locations also have panini's which are AMAZING...I wish they all made them :( They also do a lot of good for the community, they're nonprofit and all about giving back and supporting local farms. Well done. read more

Love it. Our family loved the pizza here on our way back from Vermont. Staff is very friendly as well. read more

Passing through town on our way up to Vermont, we came to Hillside on a whim slightly before closing. Rather than be deterred by the group of hungry and loud college students entering the shop right at the end of the day, the good people of Hillside welcomed us in from the cold and cooked up some exceedingly delicious pizza. Wonderful texture and taste, a variety of options (including gluten free!), and piping hot! Despite the intimate and cozy vibe of the restaurant, which isn't quite sit-down, the hostess came to check in on us multiple times. As we left and Hillside closed up shop, she even gave us a full large pizza plus a few extra slices (pictured) for free! Couldn't ask for a more pleasant experience. read more

We love this place. We only wish they had a vegetarian protein to replace meat on the pizza! Hint: Field Roast sausages Italian flavor would be amazing!! read more

I wish I could give this place zero stars. This was single handedly the worst pizza I have ever eaten and that includes gas station pizza. I got a normal pizza with cheese and mushrooms. My boyfriend got some nasty wrap stuffed with chemically tasting spinach and bland cold turkey, not cooked evenly. Absolutely flavorless and so hard to choke down. My pizza was so poorly put together that all the cheese fell off and I was left with a piece of soggy cardboard basically. It was horrible. Also expensive. Only plus side was the staff was nice. Save yourself the time and money and go literally anywhere else. read more

Heard so many amazing things about this restaurant. Super bummed to get there tonight at 6:40, 20 minutes before closing time, to find the door locked. Staff inside apparently chose to close up early. read more

Delicious every time! They have really unique specials. It's almost time for Autumn Comfort - their best pizza ever !!

Having a delicious slice of hot pizza on a cold day between appointments. Could not be better! Sitting in front of the roaring pellet stove wishing I had more time to enjoy the welcoming surrounding. The staff here is great knowing I am always on the run and have my lunch ready for me when I call in my order in advance. There's no better , healthier or friendly place! read more

Steve and I met some friends at Hillside Pizza in Bernardston to fill up before an evening at Hitchcock Brewing (just down the road). We were pleasantly surprised to walk into a cute, inviting, warm room accented by a pellet stove insert in the fireplace. We were immediately greeted by very friendly staff. We took a booth and took a look at the beers on tap (obviously our priority...). There were only about 6 beers, but it was a good selection. Each of us found exactly what we wanted. Steve and I ordered a large pizza, and my request for extra sauce was happily received (that's not always the case). Our friends also ordered a large pizza. We were all planning our late night leftover snacks. We also ordered a large order of garlic knots to share. The pizza was great, we all loved it. The garlic knots seemed a little under cooked and could have used more garlic, but they were all devoured in no time, and there was plenty of dipping sauce. The service was top notch. Bottom line: Great pizza, good beer selection, fantastic staff/service, very nice and cozy room. We'll definitely be going again. read more

This gluten free pizza is arguably the tastiest I've ever had. So inconspicuous and unpretentious from the outside you wouldn't think this place has great pizza. I will add that this is chewier pizza so if you're looking for more well done I'd specify that when ordering. read more

Best local pizza by far. Amazing pepperoni, tasty crust, flavorful sauce. If they have the clam special, it is amazing.

Vegan cheese FTW!! Hillside offers up some delicious pizza. The regular crust and the regular sauce are tasty. You do have the option to choose a specialty sauce or another crust like whole wheat or gluten free. What takes this down from a five star review would be the fact that they were skimping on the topping. I ordered green pepper and there was hardly any on it. I ordered extra sauce but it really wasn't enough. read more

A friendly and excellent Pizza House just off of I-91. I believe this to be the final exit of Massachusetts if your heading north bound. The pizza was an excellent thin crust cheese/sauce with sliced turkey sausage & spinach. So tasty and a large was more than enough for 3 people!!! The waitress was cute and very attentive as well as friendly. Hillside did have other items on their menu so check them out online! Note! They also have a Hillside Pizza House in South Deerfield, Mass. as well!!! We'll be back!!!! read more

This is becoming a regular stop on our weekly treks home from VT. Easy on/off I-91 and the friendly staff can provide paper plates and napkins making a road warrior dinner in the car with two kids somewhat civilized. Pizza is tasty and not greasy, cold and hot wraps also very good. Dining room is casual and quaint if you have time to stay and eat. Great vegetarian menus choices too. read more

stopped by here on our way from Vermont. Pizza was great, not the best we've had since we're from NJ / NYC area. But pretty good for out here and better than the ski area we were staying . Lots of options for toppings and not greasy. You could tell a lot of care went into the food. We also had the garden salad with chick peas, carrots and red cabbage with ginger miso dressing. Love how they also offered healthier options for drinks: cold green tea and lightly sweetened sparking water. A surprising find considering we were just driving by on rt 91. We'd come back here again. This is a great find. read more
