will never come back. You MUST load minimum $10 on your card. I only needed $1.75. Why should hillside laundry hold my money? Pay a $2.00 COVER CHARGE (cost of card) to do laundry? Screw that. Can't add time to dryer in increments of $.25. I had $.25 left on my card and had to add $10 to get my laundry dry even though I only need a few more minutes. I WILL NEVER, EVER BE BACK!!!!! And another thing. This is a vacation area. What if a traveler has money left on their card? That money which belongs to a paying customer becomes INCOME TO THE PROPRIETOR! What a racket!!! 7:37 AM ... read more

Very clean, machines are relatively new and work well. Took a minute to figure out the payment card, but helpful employee explained

This place is a joke. I travel for work, do laundry once a week. Came in here, had to buy their card-2$. Put 25 min on the dryer which is always enough anywhere else, it wasn't. Had to put more money on their card, minimum amount was 10$. Of course. No restroom. Even though I'll still be in town, I have my card with remaining balance to someone random because I'll never be back read more

Very clean and everything worked well. The washer and dryer worked great and the clothes got very clean.

Clean little laundromat, machines work. Much better than it was a few years ago. The card system is easy to use. Climate control system works well. Prices aren't bad. Not sure what else one would want in a laundromat. read more

Brand new machines, coin or card payment, clean facilities. What more can one ask for?

Our wash machine at home died and I needed to find a place to go. This place is pretty clean, washers/dryers all new, takes credit and debit cards. NO Coins, no bathrooms or sinks. I'm giving it 4 stars because no prices are listed anywhere on the premise, nor is a time for cycles listed on any of the machines. Limited parking. A big PLUS: Open 7 days/wk, 5am- 2am and on holidays read more

I have been recently going there and today the washers that were available were filled with animal hair. Why cant the person clean it before leaving. I wiped it down the best I could but chose to use other washing machines. No staff around but like I said just started going. I'll try again read more

It's convenient for location and hours but the price increases are cueing me to go elsewhere. Tired of waiting for dryers and fighting the coin machine. Need to update and clean better if you want to charge more. read more

I must step up and say something here I've been coming to this laundromat since 1992 and granted a lot of changes have happened but they've always been there through covid and everything else they're always open there is no other laundromat like it in the beginning there was TV and plants and lovely things for children but it was the people who came to this laundromat that little by little destroyed those things the owners were more than kind and they're always available for any situation or problems that you may have and the best thing about this place is there open very late at night a lot of people work and do not have the ability to get the laundry done during the hours that other laundromats are open I found myself many a night doing multiple loads of laundry which they never had any problem accommodating me for and at the end I would take the broom and sweep the floor like so many others ought to do as well I was thrilled to have a place that was open at night quiet nobody's stealing your laundry ! This is a rare place and I don't appreciate that somebody put two stars because they can't see the forest for the trees are in their way they now have all new machines and they've updated to cards but quite frankly I never had any problem getting change when I needed it . These are lovely people that own this place read more

So, I read the reviews and I have to disagree. People who wrote negative remarks obviously are expecting for a Laundromat to be the Ritz Carleton. For what I need done (clothes washed and dried and good "open" hours) it works. The laundromat is washed early morning and throughout the day until the gentleman is done for the day. I have no problems here, down the street from my home and my clothes are done much quicker than doing 4 loads at home (4 hours) vs. 4 loads all at once, cleaned and dried in about 1.5 hours. (yes, I have a washer and dryer at home but this is so much quicker to get it all done at once, plus my washer is imbalanced and who wants to deal with that!) People just want to bitch...it it not at all what you others are saying. But I do have a tip for those of you who go to the dryer. If you don't want to forget your laundry and lose it all, place your empty laundry basket in the front seat of your car - it will be a reminder. I cannot believe all the clothes that are forgotten!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

Ricky dink laundromat. I ended up there because it was close to my son's school so seemed more convenient than the one I usually go to. (I only go to one once every now and then when the machines in my building aren't working). The staff seemed nice at first, very friendly with their regular customers. I had my kids with me and at first the owner talked to them and even said how good they were. My 3 year old loves attention and the lady seemed to get aggravated that he kept talking to her. (Even though she had initiated the conversation). I'm pretty sure that it was due to the fact that my kids pointed out that the place was infested with ants and were talking about how icky that was. We had swept up some crumbs my kids left after getting snacks from the vending machine and there were like 20 little ants in the pile and I had only swept under one of the tables. After my 3 year old told a customer that walked in that there were ants the owner's whole demeanor changed and every thing he did aggravated her from him bringing me a rolly cart to how he was sitting on his chair to the fact that he touched a handle of a washing machine that wasn't being used. (Didn't open the door or slam it or anything, just touched the handle) . This caused her to very rudely tell me I had to "watch my son". The place is tiny so there was never a point where I wasn't aware of his behavior. At that point to I just took all of my stuff (I had several dryers going and a lot of my stuff was still wet)and put it and my kids in the car. I had to make several trips and she never offered to help or even spoke to me again. Another person there doing laundry had offered to help me carry stuff if I needed. I had washed my kids car seat covers and was crouched down in The parking lot putting them back on and she almost ran over me when she backed out of her space. I think that she was embarrassed that he pointed out the place was dirty and had bugs and just wanted us out of there ASAP before he pointed it out to any more customers. read more

Ended up here after attempting to go to another laundromat nearby, which is now closed. It's not the greatest laundromat. I've ever been to, but it got the job done. The staff seemed friendly, and the machines worked okay. It's a bit dirty and only has wifi if you sign on to the xfinity hotspot. Vending is very limited. One tiny crappy tube tv in the corner was not on. Prices seem a bit high, but I don't use laundromats often, so that might just be inflation. Small place with 14 double load, 3 triple and 2 quads. Just a handful of driers on the back wall. read more

The owner is a very rude individual and thinks she can act like that because it is only Laundromat in Amesburry. She is never there and undependable when you go to pick up your laundry . When she says your laundry is ready at certain time she's not there for you to get you laundry. When you call there no one ever answers . She leaves notes on the door saying she'll be back at a certain time and 45 minutes later she still isn't back . Also the board of health should be down there due to her gross little dog walking around in there ALL the time. I wouldn't recommend to anyone and would highly recommend going to the one in Salisbury or Haverhill due to a better ran facility as well as level of cleanliness. read more

The plus - machines work well and are fast, and it's the only laundromat in town. The minus - looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the Bush administration. Disgusting! read more

I was slightly apprehensive to patronize this place based on previous reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. The machines were large, clean and all in working order. I only needed to use them because my washer broke but the owner was a doll and so hysterically funny. She entertained me through the entire process. I hopefully won't have to go back but if my new washer winds up to be a lemon you better believe I'll be right back to Hillside! read more

This place is very dirty and smells like urine the owner allows other patrons to take ur cloths out of machines if u are 1 minute late very rude woman I would not recommend this place to anyone nasty place read more

Handicapped persons need to be aware that the Hillside Laundrette on Elm St is not handicap accessible although they claim to be. The one handicap parking space does not allow wheelchair access into the building due to there is no ramp or flat surface only a curb. There is a flat surface allowing chair access from a standard parking space but was blocked by a parked car. The female owner and older gentleman employee were so extremely rude and unsympathetic that I find myself writing this review at 4am when I should be sleeping... The multiple signs posted with the rules were so numerous it was almost comical. read more

The absolute worst laundry mat in american the rudest owners and workers if your not 80 years old and alone they seem to have a problem with you. Also they snap at ppl and children. I have never seen any like it. Do not go here I suggest! !!! read more

People try hard to please. I've had no problems with special requests for unusual circumstances. Dogs are great mascots!

I have been here a few times and have had no issue. On this last visit, I used 3 of the midsize washer for $4.00 each + all the laundry soap and softener I wasted as none of my detergents actually made it into the machine. I did not notice until another customer pointed it out that there were no suds in the machine. Now, I use quite a bit of cleaners because I like the smell, and when my clothes came out, sure enough, they didn't smell like ANYTHING and they weren't cleaned at all.. As much as I didn't want to give this place any more of my money, I had to REWASH all of my clothes in a different washer (seems that the only ones that work are the ones that cost $6.00 & $7.75). I called the business and left a message to let the owner know I'm unhappy. I received a voicemail today saying that the machines are "high efficiency" and "you're not supposed to see any suds so they're all working just fine". Ma'am, I STRONGLY disagree, because when my clothes came out the second time, they smelled exactly as I had suspected. So unhappy with the response from the owner who doesn't want to refund a duped customer. DO NOT RECOMMEND. + it's always dirty and the washers usually smell of must. read more
