All these guys do is run gas-powered leaf blowers like a bunch of robot landscapers. Like 3-5 of them simultaneously. Neighbors from miles around get to suffer every time they come to do a job. You guys ever hear of rakes or brooms? It's well-documented how insanely polluting these leaf blowers are, both for the people operating them and for the surrounding environment. Hillside has been doing lawn work for us for almost ten years. The team shows up on time, gets their work done quickly, and can almost always address a request to, say, pick up pruning debris that has accumulated between visits. They've also come to the rescue the couple of times that we needed to make a schedule change on relatively short notice. The front office is as reliable as the field team. Emails get answered and phone calls are returned quickly, which we really appreciate. When we've had an issue - fortunately, there's only been a couple - the company's owners have done their best to address it directly. TL;DR - first rate basic lawn maintenance work, capable front office, and easy to work with. I only wish that every contractor was of the same caliber. read more

I hired Hillside to do a detailed cleanup of our three acre lot to get ready for a wedding in two weeks. This is the best experience I have ever had in my forty years of being a homeowner. They came two weeks ago to spray for weeds and then returned today with five cordial, hardworking men who literally got every weed, leaf and tree litter and filled an entire dump truck. After pulling the dead weeds they proceeded to blowtorch all evidence that they had ever existed. I cannot believe the difference this crew made in one day. They were easy to work with and our foreman Bret was responsive in every way and worked to get everything done in the timeframe we needed. If I can get a spot on their bi-weekly maintenance schedule I will be in heaven. This company is the real deal. read more

This company has been in our neighborhood twice now using gas powered leaf blowers on DUST. The plume of dust formed by two blowers going at the same time completely takes over the neighborhood with noise and pollution. There is absolutely no need to use these machines on this property. The whole yard is wood chips that are at least 5 years old that have broken down. I would not recommend this company to use for any sort of landscaping. read more

I was extremely impressed with the team at Hillside Landscape. First of all, I always try to work with local business owners because I think building relationships with people who are invested in the community are best. Hillside is a family run business that has been around for 20 years. They are friendly, responsive and very knowledgeable. I actually got several bids for my backyard renovation project and Hillside was reasonably priced. They weren't the most expensive and they weren't the least, but they were definitely the best. In meeting Bret, he immediately could see the vision I wanted for the backyard. I actually drew an outline of how I wanted things to look and from there he put together a really good plan. His confidence and assurance that what we wanted to do was totally workable and within my budget was reassuring. But what sealed the deal for me was how responsive the office team was. Whenever I reached out by email I received a response back in 24 hours or less, often in an hour or two, always. I really appreciated seeing that both the field team and the office team worked together and provided the same level of customers service. That gave me confidence to work with a company like Hillside for the first time. On the day that work began a team of guys arrived with all the materials and equipment and they jumped into action. Seriously, it was an impressive sight to see these guys tackle my backyard. The area is decent size, about a quarter acre. We had six guys working, four truck loads of materials and equipment and the plan was to knock out the backyard in one day. Man, these guys had to hustle to get it done, but they made it happen. Sometimes, when I think about doing backyard work, I think to myself that I could do all the work and get the same results, but after seeing these guys complete the project (I was home all day) it showed me that a professional team like Hillside does things that I wouldn't even think of or know how to do. They have an expertise and skill, as we as the right tools, that I don't have and as a result the end product looks amazing! A project that would have taken me months to complete myself was done in one day; it's the best money I've spent on my house yet. I previously posted a review of this business. Today I discovered a reason to add to that review. My next door neighbors hired this company to do weekly landscape maintenance. One morn ing on my way out, I noticed that a Hillside Landscape employee was using a power leaf blower to blow leaves and yard debris through the chain link fence on the property line, from my neighbors' property onto my property. I asked this employee to not blow debris onto my property, and he promised he would clean up what he'd already blown onto my property. Afterward, I didn't see yard debris from my neighbors' yard on my side of the chain link fence, so I assumed that Hillside had honored my request. However, this afternoon, I found out what the Hillside employee did with yard debris from my neighbors' back yard. I went into the narrow space between my garage and a wooden fence that connects to the chain link fence, to clear out any debris that might block the bottom of the storm water downspout on the garage. In this area between my garage and a solid fence was a large amount of yard debris, including leaves from a large tree on the opposite side of my neighbors' back yard. I didn't realize how much was there until I raked it out to where I could pick it up and put it in my yard debris roll cart. I do not believe that the wind picked up all that debris and blew it over a 4-foot fence and, at the same time, didn't leave any of it on my neighbors' side of the fence. read more
