Giving them an extra star because the guys doing the work are generally stand up people. The owner, on the other hand, contributed to conflict on our shared well, including only communicating with the neighbor who was causing the water problems. Our well ran dry 7 times in less than a year, a pump burned out, and they only worked on behalf of one of us. Again, I generally like the staff, but Jim has contributed to our nightmare situation with a neighbor who blames everyone except their own leak. We've moved to a different service provider. There are other options who will be more open with everyone impacted. read more

Our well pump died on Sunday afternoon July 2nd. We called HPS and they had someone come check out our situation within a couple of hours. He said we'd have a quote in the morning. Monday before 9am we had a quote and by 2:45 a 3 person crew was at our house putting in a new well pump. Sam Torres was the technician that diagnosed the problem on Sunday and on Monday he came with a 3 person crew who were professional, efficient, speedy. I had no water this morning, and life came to a standstill at 94 degrees. I had a friend highly recommend Hillsboro Pump because she could not get hold of Phillips' pump. I'm out of water so I called both. I am an electrical guy and had 'start' and 'run' capacitors on hand and swapped them out. (I am also cheap and better to pay $8 now from Amazon then $35 later from 'the man'). I turned on the switch and nothing happened so I thought "crap, it is the relay and I could not find that part number so I am screwed! Call the repair man and bend over for the service charge on a Saturday afternoon!". 15 minuets later Hillsboro pump calls me up. Jacob came out in an hour. Hit the fricckin' reset button and tried not to laugh! I completely forgot there was one... He said I need to quit being a cheap "F" and buy a new control box. I told him they are $400 on Amazon. He quoted me $199 if I buy from him. No Charge for the service call (even if I am an idiot). New customer with a control box on order-DONE!!! HPS has always been good to me. I recently went in to ask for help troubleshooting my residential irrigation system. Pat was very helpful and we talked through what I had already tested and made suggestions of other tests to do. He even loaned me a good used part to try to rule out another portion of the system. In my opinion, HPS provides PLATINUM service- they are always my first stop when dealing with a pump or irrigation issue. You've got a customer for life! read more

I have tried to work with this company twice. The first time was when I was purchasing my current home. We brought in a water sample for testing from the well and never heard back, and when I asked about it I was told they had no idea what I was talking about, that they had no record of my sample, even though I had filled out paperwork for the test. The test is also $150.00 by the way. Next when the well stopped working we called to get the pump checked and fixed. The two men who came out immediately said they had to remove the whole pump system and pipes before they looked at anything. They would need to take the pump with them and let me know what was wrong the next day. As they started taking it apart water gushed out so they stopped and said ok never mind that's a good sign. They came to the conclusion that I needed a new switch as the other was melted and that I needed a new tank. All of which they said would cost roughly $500 max. They would send me a quote that day. No quote....4 days later and two calls from me I get a quote for over $1000.00. included in this quote is a tank roughly 3 times the size of my current tank. Nice up sale! I call and question this.... The response I received was to the effect of I don't know. It's really not that much bigger and this is what I was asked to quote. I wasn't there, so not my problem. I'll have to get back to you later. Don't bother I'll take me business somewhere else. read more

Hillsboro Pump Service Pipe & Supply (HPS) went above-and-beyond to address my recent "no water" situation. Jake and his team prioritized my issue and arrived very soon after notification. They not only quickly resolved my water issue... BUT they also proactively worked with the electrical control box manufacturer to get them to warranty both parts and labor on their product which was actually 1 year out of warranty. We are remodeling a vintage home and the worst part has been trying to get someone to bore an electrical conduit to the house from the power line! It was a nightmare, for months we were in contact with various borers and trenchers who either never called us back, quadrupled the quoted price on the day of service, or seemed to have no clue what they were doing. FINALLY we were referred to HPS and within about 2 business days of talking to them we had our conduit installed! I wish I had known about these guys to begin with. Poor quality. Lacking customer service I hired them twice for well flow and water quality testing and was disappointing both times. I wanted a flow test done from the well (to test gpm flow from the well) and they did it from the holding tank. I wasted $250. so they could confirm the thousand gallon holding tank actually did hold water. The tech agreed to come back another day and retest but they didn't schedule it. I eventually called it off and asked them to give me a discount and run the test on a different property. They said they would check with owner on the discount, but never got back to me. I paid full price again. On the 2nd property they confirmed when I scheduled that they would check the static level, but the person who showed up didn't have working equipment! He also said they would check mineral level back at the lab, so I gave him a container to use. When I asked for results they couldn't find them. Eventually I called to find out if they had my lead test results and they wanted to charge me even more for the service than the $355 I was quoted! When I got the report I saw they had the results for 5 days prior and didn't bother to call me to let me know! To their credit, they adjusted the price to the quoted $355, but no discount for shoddy incomplete, work. In summary: Negative 2 stars, for shoddy work, incomplete to what was committed yet charge the same (even try to charge more), and they seem to have no interest in having satisfied customers. read more

I am so pleased with the service by HPS. They are attentive, knowledgable friendly and very fair. Four years ago they replaced our well pump and a few days ago replaced a well PSI switch. They go above and beyond and do it with a smile. They have earned a happy, loyal customer, for sure! read more

STAY AWAY! We worked with HPS for a fair time, after they took over for our old well service (Haley's). Things really fell apart as soon as we needed actual maintenance. They came out to replace a head on our iron removal system. When I went back to check up on their work a week later (I'd traveled for business right after they finished), water was spraying all over. They did actually come out the next day and fix it. The technician did take responsibility for the faulty service. I asked the owner to remove the charge, he wouldn't stand by his company's work and even offer a discount. So while he gained the $300 for the head replacement, he lost my business forever. And I make a point to tell all my rural friends how terrible HPS is. read more

Horrible service. Repairs on water treatment systems takes forever to get scheduled. It takes a couple of months of weekly calls and email, then escalation to get a schedule. Still awaiting a schedule for maintenance to repair a water leak in the Iron Shield system. read more

Horrible customer service! Selling UV sterilizing bulbs at a higher cost than Clearwater Pump Service which is close in location. They won't stand behind the products that they sell unless you STRONGLY INSIST. We purchased a bulb that didn't last anywhere near the 9000 hours it should have come close to. Once they finally agreed to send it back to the maker, it fell under the warranty and they had to refund our money back, but it took 2 months for that to happen. We filled out a request to have someone come check over our water system and no one called back to set up an appointment. They are really good at selling things, but not able to help or willing to help if something goes wrong. Check out the competition before using HPS! read more

Service was fine but the lady on the phone was unprofessional. I don't think someone should call and say the name of their company and then immedicately ask for a credit card number over the phone. She had not even stated the total on the bill or itemized it over the phone or sent us an itemized statement. Her customer service skills need improvement. read more
