Inside it's dank and stacked to the brim with kettles that look sure to burn your house down when you're not looking and hilarious knock offs of famous toy brands. Outside is a really attractive display of colour from the plush toys, umbrellas and spinning rainbow flowers that serve no purpose other than to sell themselves. There are plenty of things you can buy in the store that would are perfectly suitable for their use, like cheap mugs, cutlery, costume pieces and simple kids toys, but overall this store is comically bogus.

With most businesses, high frequency of customers and prominent location usually lend to success and high quality. Unfortunately, with op-shops this can be a fatal draw back. Strolling along the aisles in this community store, you can't help but feel some other young trendster got there before and picked up all the cool shirts, jeans and hats. They left you with daggy, out of size dress pants and jackets missing buttons and smelling kind of like death. It's a shame. I can't speak for the women's stuff, but I assume it would be the same or worse for them. Regardless this is a good store to find simple second hand clothing. Daggy shirts to paint in, or throw away pants and jackets for a costume party. There's also a lot of kids stuff kicking around, if you want some crazy toys or old VHS and story books for the young 'uns. The women that work their are lovely too, and offer some of the lowest prices I've seen in my op-shopping experience.

The checkout area, with it's huge glass windows and high ceilings feels like you're in an airport. And just like at the airport, I always feel as if I'm forgetting something. I like seeing the wide range of local, South Australian and Australian products. Some might think three different sections dedicated to cheese throughout the store is too many, but is there really such a thing as too much cheese? Probably. But only if you eat it all at once.

Everything is fresh and a lot of it is locally sourced. Apart from the cheese of course; they have a huge variety of some of the best cheeses from around the world. Be sure to speak to the staff about the cheese, they are very knowledgeable for a supermarket. As for the layout of this store, it is easy to navigate. It is new, clean and well stocked in a logical order. There is nothing worse when you spend a while having to walk up and down isles to find simple things like shredded coconut. I am one of those loyal customers of Foodland. I refuse to go to the larger supermarkets unless it is an emergency. Be sure to support a business that supports it's community by selling local produce.

I wouldn't take my mum shopping in here although I just asked her what she thought and she said "there are some nice items in there" which got me a little bit worried because usually she has style, a different style anyhow. Super cute front, looking like a welcoming little cottage. It kind of draws you in. I kept thinking, "Oooo what is in there?" Finally, I drove past on a day where I had a little spare time to kill. So in I went. And I am glad I did. This store offers a range of homewares, jewellery, furniture and crockery that are really suited to my taste. It is all kind of pop art influenced. Bright coloured or pastel coloured items. There are some really funky display plates sold here. I know, most display plates are for old ladies and have horrible arrangements of flowers on them. But the ones in this store featured really bright coloured butterflies and cross-stitched patterned prints of reindeer. You will see in the photos I have uploaded. Not to mention all the very affordable art prints of the legend herself Fida Kahlo. Nice! I know for most Adelaideians it is a trek to the hills, but next time you stop for say the Stirling Laneways or Markets. Drop by here, you will be pleasantly surprised.

I had a really great chat with the lady behind the counter who's name I didn't catch and it was a pleasure to browse amongst the clothing. There are some wonderful pieces in here for anyone who wants something different. I found a colourful cotton long top the type worn over leggings and need to go back and try it on. Various styles are stocked from casual to formal and from basic black to multi coloured. The prices are reasonable and when they do have sales they are even better value. Sizes vary from sizes 8 - 26 which doesn't exclude anyone from their store. They respect the average person likes to have a browse and will gladly help with any query they may have about the collection and assist in finding a title. You could be forgiven for thinking the majority of books are new, because they are scrutinised so well before being presented. No ordinary run of the mill second hand book store as you may have gathered but they also have some rare, out of print and highly valuable books also, like the Arthur Boyd Drawings book, autographed by him and handsomely priced at $350. And yes there are others in this price range all kept under glass, lock and key as expected. I noticed a few keys placements and even though I'm not into Japanese gardening, I felt like I wanted to buy the book...very persuasive. They certainly know their stuff and it shows.

Guess there must be some cashed up people in my area! I like that the clothing has been sorted with care, and even if it's not to your taste at least there's no trash in this store. there is furniture, books, accessories, shoes - you name it. I wish they would get someone else to do their merchandising though, then they might pull in some more customers. selfishly though I kinda want them to stay away so I can keep all the treasures to myself. seriously though, the clothing they throw on the models in the window needs some rethinking, but dont let that deter you, there is some great stuff here on a regular basis.
