My daughter and I are on vacation visiting my college best friend of 35 years who lives in Decatur…read more My daughter's wire was poking her in her upper cheek. I called our orthodontist in Oklahoma to see if we could make an appointment for when we returned. Our orthodontist was going to be taking his vacation once we returned, so we would have to go see another orthodontist that would be covering while he is on vacation. His office staff suggested that we try to find a local orthodontist that might be able to see her while we are still in Decatur, so that she did not have to stay uncomfortable while on vacation. I called one office and it was going to be $150 to clip a wire. I called a second office and they were going to charge $360 to clip the wire. My best friend and her husband suggested that I call Decatur Orthodontics, so I did. Allyssa was my first interaction with the office. She was kind and super helpful. She was able to get us in right away. Our visit was less than 5 minutes once we arrived. The office staff was helpful, kind, and extremely efficient. The office was super clean and very organized. They were kind enough to take care of this for us as a complimentary service. If we lived in Decatur, this is where we would go! Thank you so much for taking care of my daughter and for being so kind to us! I would recommend this business 100%. Thank you for being kind human beings! Thank you for being a blessing to us! We appreciate you so very much!

Warning: Unexpected $1,017 bill after being told visit was covered…read more I visited Conyers Smiles Dentistry as a new patient for what I was told was a routine exam. When I arrived, staff confirmed my Cigna insurance had been verified and my visit was covered. I paid a copay and thought nothing of it. Weeks later I received an Explanation of Benefits showing I owe $1,017 out of pocket for a Cone Beam CT Scan, multiple Oral/Facial Imaging procedures, and Saliva Testing. None of these were explained to me before, during, or after my appointment. No treatment plan was shown to me. No cost estimate was provided. I was never told any of this was being done. My insurance denied all of it. Cigna flagged the saliva test as "not a dental service" and the CT scan as simply not covered neither of which are standard for a new patient checkup. I am now formally disputing these charges with the practice, Smile Generation corporate, and the Georgia Board of Dentistry. I would caution anyone especially new patients to ask for a written cost estimate and treatment plan BEFORE allowing any procedures to be performed here.

He never introduced himself, didn't even say good morning, and came across as extremely rude. When I explained that I was looking for a dental implant and wanted to understand the pricing, he immediately dismissed me by saying that if another dentist quoted me $1,400, I should "just go there" because "something must be missing" at that price. Instead of properly explaining the options, he was condescending and unprofessional. On their website, they advertise implants "starting at $899," but that price only covers the implant itself, not the crown. Obviously, nobody gets an implant without a crown, so the advertisement feels misleading. After driving all the way from Fort Lauderdale to Sunny Isles, I left very disappointed -- not only because the real cost was at least six times higher than what they promote online, but also because of the lack of respect and courtesy from Dr. Ripa.

DO NOT RECOMMEND…read more Went to Social Circle Dental for crown work, and their CEREC machine malfunctioned while making the second crown, which can happen. The bigger issue was how everything afterward was handled. Dr. Jones was coughing/sneezing without a mask while adjusting a crown and then placed it back in my mouth without sanitizing it. After that, most of the remaining treatment was performed by a dental hygienist instead of the dentist. The temporary crown process involved multiple failed attempts, including one that fractured during adjustments in my mouth. A crown component was also placed directly on an uncovered countertop. The final temporary crown was extremely oversized and poorly fitted to the point that chewing even soft foods was difficult. During prolonged grinding and adjustments, there was very limited suction, causing debris to enter my mouth and eyes, which caused irritation afterward. Communication throughout the visit was poor. There was little explanation about what went wrong or what the next steps would be. The permanent crown had to be outsourced and would take about a week, yet payment in full was still required that same day before the work was actually completed. After emailing the office about these concerns, there was no meaningful follow-up, accountability, or apology. Instead, at the follow-up visit, a termination letter was handed over refusing future service to me and my family. The office appears friendly on the surface, but the way concerns were handled felt dismissive and unprofessional. Very snarky behavior from staff, including during previous visits.

My dentist retired so i'm having to look for a new one…read more I had a implant put in and it failed due to a massive infection. So now instead of a implant i have to have a bridge done. I went in to get a teeth cleaning as that was priority one since it had been 3 years prior. This way a new dentist could see everything more clear. The cleaning went great and the dentist seemed to be a good fit with her information she gave me that i had already been given from previous dentist. I had to set up another appointment to look at the rest of my issues because she didn't have enough time that day. so i got my price for the bridge 7600 which i have no problem with except one small part which i planed to ask her about and resceduled to today to plan the rest. Now a crown includes impression to make it.Grind the tooth down. Make a temp crown.Remove temp and guma, cement, place new crown.basically all labor and installation materials.and the new crown itself.1000 to 1400 is fair prices.they came in at 1200 so price is fine. So i went in today to do the 2nd part and get a scedule for the teeth that needed to be fixxed asap so as not to lose them. Everything went fine and i agreed with the plan. Where things went bad is when i tested her character by asking that simple question. IF A CROWN INCLUDES ALL LABOR, MATERIAL. THEN WHY WOULD I PAY FULL PRICE FOR THE BRIDGE SECTION THAT REQUIRES NO TOOTH LABOR.WHY PAY 1200 FOR A SECTION THAT DOESN'T HAVE ANY LABOR OR CEMENTS ETC. IF ANYTHING IT SHOULD BE THE SAME PRICE AS A IMPLANT WHICH IS TYPICALLY 700 ABOUT HALF OF A FULL CROWN. Instead of being professional she got mad and lashed out.I said it was very dishonest that you would try to convince me its your suppliers fault as they make the prices.Instead of taking ownership that its YOUR practice and you set labor prices not YOUR supplier. I never raised my voice, i was calm and regular volume. I would never cheat or pass the blame to any of my customers and id expect the same from others to me. she started raising her voice and telling me i can go anywhere else .I don't have to choose her.which of corse i said i agree and will be doing just that,i don't deal with dishonest people. She then said good i'm glad, imagine having to deal with you everyday. She muttered some other curse words under her breath as she walked away. Lol she got so mad over being confronted over something so small in the grand scheme of proly 20k i was ready to spend with her to finish my teeth plan. Instead of just saying sorry and adjusting HER price maybe 500 dollars of a 7600 plan or even just saying that's what i charge and i'm not changing it. id have been ok with it and sceduled. Not taking accountability and trying to blame it on supplier that makes the crowns. But instead she got mad, loud, rude and insulting me , it shows i asked the correct question to see what type of character she has. Staff was pleasant both times i went office is clean and it seems like a nice place. But when the main boss has anger issues like she displayed over something simple go at your your own risk .Imagine her roid rage popping off while she has sharp objects in your mouth.
