The shop's owner was busily taking care of several customers at a time by answering questions or ringing someone up - he never got a break! I used to own a vintage store and being in this shop gave me pangs of fond remembrance of the joy of vintage - both selling and buying. When we got to the back of the store there was a little meeting of sorts going on between the owner and two AH-mazing queens in their 80's relaxing in comfy chairs and telling stories about their days performing drag. We were invited into the mix and the queens told dirty jokes and pet our dog; what a wonderful unexpected surprise. We must have visited with them for 20 minutes or more, thoroughly enchanted. Although we didn't find anything to take home for ourselves, we will always cherish the impromptu experience with some very sassy and classy broads! The woman who helped us took 15 minutes searching for a skirt that we described, and we finally found it. $49. Saks Off 5th will now be our favorite place to shop.
