We ended up having a fantastic time, and I was really happy with how the party went. The man who booked it for us, I think the owner, was really nice and helpful and in the booking process. I was extra happy when, after I picked a package and gave him a number of people, he allowed me to only pay for the food of the people not bowling despite the package being a set price for food, bowling, and shoes. I expected to pay a flat rate for all, despite my parents not wanting to bowl, so I thought it was kind that he didn't have me pay for them for bowling. The party went off without a hitch! Everyone got shoes and they put us in a couple lanes on the side of the alley so it was more private. They also dimmed the lights so we got to have midnight bowling. Our food package included pizza, wings, salad, and pop. I also added on some nachos and fries, and I was able to have a tab at the bar for pitchers of beer. Speaking of the beer, they had a wide selection of them available for pitchers, including many local and some hard cider! The food was set up right behind the lanes for us so we didn't even need to leave them to eat. I wouldn't expect a bowling alley to have really good food, but we all loved it and my family, often picky about wings, were raving about them. Overall, the experience was lots of fun, prices very reasonable, and friendly and helpful staff. Best part - the 90s playlist they had playing throughout, giving us the most fun nostalgia boost!! The food was better than the view and the view was better than the food and the food was better..... (ummm... you get it, right?) The "Mid-Day Club" is a private club at the top of the Liberty Building that serves lunch during the week..... and is also open occasionally for special events..... and is able to be booked for members' private parties. It's kind of upscale, but also very welcoming and relaxing and warm and elegant. I loved it there! The lunch menu has specials each day as well as the usual choices of salads, sandwiches, and entrees. I was told that the soups (choice of two on the day I was there) are fantastic.... so of course I had to order some. That chilled pea soup with mint and chives was quite possibly the best thing I've ever tasted! It was like springtime in a bowl..... fresh, flavorful, and yup...the prettiest shade of green....I could have begun and ended my meal there and been happy. Actually if I brought a few gallons home I would have been happier, but I think that might be frowned upon when dining at a private club. My Greek salad was equally fresh and delicious..... topped with lots of crumbly feta, dressed just right, and accompanied by perfectly warmed pita triangles, it was one terrific salad. Sometimes it's just oh-so-nice to be treated to a lunch at the top of the city where one can enjoy a brief vacation in the middle of the work day complete with great conversation, delicious food, and the most amazing views. Like I said, I'm a lucky lady!
