The whole reason I took my time to leave this type of review is for you the people to have this knowledge. 100% Honest and Unbiased! From start to finish Lonnie Peterson a car salesmen for EWALD dealership in Franklin,WI was absolutely amazing. His professionalism, his knowledge, his communication skills, his calm demeanor, his thoroughness, his honesty, returning calls, answering calls, sending or replying to emails, in a timely manner, transparency about ever detail and on and on. Lonnie checked all the boxes for us to earn our businees this time and in the future. My wife Helen and I both agreed we were lucky he was the one who took our call going back to the 1st time we spoke over the phone when calling EWALD to inquire about new Vans. We live about 1 hour and 30 minutes away North of Madison, WI. So we had never shopped at Ewald or never even heard about the dealership prior. Lonnie assured me this dealership wanted our business, he stated he and his team was there for me no matter what, before and after a purchase, he informed of the 20 year 200,000 exclusive EWALD warranty that only their company gives free to anyone with a purchase of a new vehicle ( only dearlership in the United States) and he spoke highly of the family like car dealership business EWALD stands for. He stuck up for the business when nobody was around to hear it. So either he must love his job is all I got to say or they are a tight knit family run business who take care of their valued employees? I liked that and hope my employees speak that of our company and myself when nobody is listening. Anyways! He sealed the deal from that 1st conversation. Now it was just locating the vehicle then and all the details to follow. I mean the guy made time for me and answered my calls on his days off when we had questions. I never felt like I was being rushed or he was in a hurry to hang up the phone. He truly just wanted our complete satisfaction on anything and everything. We appreciated him more than he realized for that. It meant he cared and understood just how important this purchase of a new vehicle meant to us. Not just the amount of money and time we were spending. It showed, Lonnie didn't care weather I purchased a half a million dollar car or a used junkbox. He wanted what was best for us and our families needs. In all the years of buying vehicles this was our best experience hands down anywhere and sales associate. My wife and I both agreed we will only buy from Lonnie again in the future. Hopefully as a company, if they read this ever, you do whatever it takes to retain this man's services at your dealership. He is the best in the business. Easy to talk with! He was never pushy, listened to everything we said, took notes, stay organized and was on top of every exact detail. We never had to repeat ourselves to him. He kept great notes. I'm not sure how long he has been doing this as a profession, but he seemed to be a well oiled machine. A "beast" maybe is a better term. Ewald just gained a life long customer because of him soley. To Lonnie if you are reading this Thank you! My wife made you work for this sale or even jump through a few hoops some may say, but ultimately you found her exactly the vehicle she wanted, the features, the options, the accessories, the price, the warranty and most of all you never gave up on us or made us feel less important til the job was completed. All that work, just to make a customer you didnt know and never met prior extremely happy. I applaud you sir. You are an overachiever and a scholar. I wish there were more men built like you in our businesses throughout the country and things would run so much smoother. More deals would get done! Thanks for a great experience. It was a pleasure to meet you and do business with you. From your newest EWALD Family members "The Luinstra's"

I have been a loyal customer there for years. Must be a change in management they always treated customers better. I wrote the service manager but his response was not even on my complaint. Thinking they are on commission that is why it was so expensive. I google the cost it should of been between $400 to $500 so they really stuck it to me.

Date of visit: November 24, 2025…read more I came here as another dealership had indicated that my starter was beginning to go and should be replaced before it failed completely. I made the appointment online and arrived early for the appointment. After a short wait, I met with the service advisor who was very puzzled by my ask stating that "starters did not wear out," and asked me to start the car. We headed out into the garage area and I started the car. He was able to diagnose that the hesitation in the car starting was that it was not a Volkswagen battery and was not "coded" to the car. I confirmed that it was a battery from Advance Auto Parts because of the astronomical battery cost through the dealer. While cheaper, these batteries will wear out sooner as they drain faster because of the lack of "coding." This had never been mentioned to me before. Now I don't know who to trust and while I am grateful for not spending several hundred dollars on something I didn't need, have I been suckered into believing I need a VW battery in less than a year? And why didn't anyone look at my appointment and ask that before I drove 30 minutes to Hales Corners?

Going in, I was expecting the worst because people online make it seem like the dealership is terrible, but that wasn't true at all in my case. The staff was friendly right away and took the time to actually look at my headlights and talk through what was going on without brushing me off or trying to upsell anything. Even though it wasn't a major service visit, they still treated it seriously and made sure I understood everything. It felt like they genuinely cared about helping rather than just making money, which is something you don't always expect at a dealership. Honestly, I think a lot of the negative reviews are overblown or don't reflect how they actually treat customers. My experience was smooth, respectful, and helpful, and I wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

Sales team was great, but the finance took forever to be ready for us to come to their office. By a long time, I mean to say we were there from 4 pm until after they were closing... which felt like forever with a one year old in tow (especially messing up meal/bedtime). If they were closer, we probably would have come back the next day to finish the purchase. We selected this dealer to get a Costco discount, and because they were able to find the model, trim and color of our choice much sooner than other dealers in the region. FAst forward to the first service with them (complimentary oil)... they kept telling me to wait until the light went on and then, as soon as the light went on there was a 10 day wait to get it serviced. So I came for their "fast lane" non-appointment time slot. I was told be there first thing in the morning. Well, at 7:05 am, it was a two hour wait. The first 45 minutes of the wait they had my car RUNNING in the waiting zone, wasting gas. It was really frustrating. They called for a survey three times and even emailed me. I did give them feedback via their phone survey, with a lady who sounded like she worked onsite. Hopefully, they fix their waiting protocols.

After 3 weeks and being told a half dozen times that "it'll be done tomorrow", I was finally able to pick up my vehicle. Immediately upon receiving the vehicle, I noticed myriad issues in the work that was done: one of my fog lights was sitting loose in its socket, obviously missed during repairs. My hood and A-pillars had new, symmetrical paint chips on both the passenger and driver side, clearly caused by some tooling. My roof above the windshield had a fresh dent. Upon bringing these issues to the attention of the body shop manager, I was completely written off. He admitted that the fog light was missed during repairs but tried to tell me that the symmetrical paint chips were caused by rocks while driving. This is clearly impossible, as the chips are on the trailing edge of the hood and are perfectly symmetrical on either side. Unacceptable quality of service and extremely poor communication. Take your vehicle elsewhere if you need repairs.

All have been with the same salesperson, Big Mike. I couldn't be happier. Before the first car we tried multiple dealerships. It was the mixed bag of awfulness that makes people like me dreading buying cars. Got a recommendation to go to Wilde and ask for Big Mike. Saved us. A year later, we needed a new car. Since Wilde is almost an hour from our house, the market had changed a lot in the intervening year, and weren't buying a used car, we tried looking at other places. Ended up calling Big Mike. He calmly addressed our needs and we drove away happy. Bought our third used car from them just a couple months ago. Obviously, there are a lot of negative reviews for Wilde. What do I make of them? Well, if I'm honest, I do t know if I'd go to Wilde if I had to play roulette and take whatever salesperson walks up to me first. I've never seen anything bad, but the place doesn't have a vibe of excellence that would put me at ease. I've worked with three difference finance agents. Wild variety of experiences--even the guy we used twice was different each time. Again, nothing unethical or problematic like I've experienced elsewhere, but rather I'm willing to put up with "ok" because I know I'm getting fair treatment on the front end of the shopping experience. Two years after buying used and a year after buying new, I'm still happy with the cars. (It's the used car market--and there's no guarantee with the used car, so I've taken a risk and got lucky.) could have turned out bad, thankfully it didn't. New cars come with some free routine maintenance. Service has been fine. Again, nothing "wow" but also no red flags or anything to complain about. People are friendly and seem knowledgeable. Even so, once my free service is over, I probably won't drive an hour to get my car serviced.
