I went there on a recommendation and a lot of regulars seemed to be coming in. The waitress and owner really got into some playful banter - I felt like I was listening to an old "Alice" rerun with Mel and Flo. Okay, now the food: The dinner prices were $10-14. I ordered ribs with fries and slaw on the side. Fries were okay. Slaw was "creamy style" but not sweet, some peppery flavor. I enjoyed that. The ribs were huge and good. Smoked flavor and tender. I stopped on the last rib, stuffed. Then my colleague ordered the peach cobbler and it looked good with scoop of melting ice cream on top. So, I ordered a blackberry cobbler. A small bowl, with ice cream. The crust was very buttery. it was apparently freshly made. For the dinner, one beer, and the dessert the bill was $19. I thought it was a bargain.

The jalapenos weren't spicy at all, and all of it needed salt, but it was otherwise delicious. The batter was good and crispy. Add a bit of salt, and it'd be perfect! My husband had the breakfast burger and I had the BBQ bacon burger. Both were perfectly cooked...nice and charred on the outside and juicy on the inside. Both came with fries, which they offer in a few seasoning options. I opted for the garlic parmesan fries. When they came out, I was disappointed to see that they were shoestring style fries, since shoestrings are typically a bit too crispy/overcooked for my liking, but I must say, these were the best shoestring fries I've ever had. The garlic parmesan seasoning put it right over the top. They were also the perfect crispy outside, tender inside that I love in a French fry. Again, shoestrings usually aren't tender inside, but these were. This is a great little restaurant just a short distance from the lake house we stayed at. If/when we return to Warsaw, we will be back!

Second - the food is beyond outstanding. Mom and I each had delicious sandwiches (holy cow - the bread!!) We loved the Mint Coolers (iced tea with peppermint, spearmint and possibly lemongrass?) and we topped off our meal with a piece of carrot cake. The icing on that carrot cake was about 1/2 inch thick and IT WAS SUPER YUMMY!! Third - the service was fast. friendly, and altogether top-notch. Fourth - the view out the back of the lake is just beautiful. 5 stars - awesome place. We'll definitely be back to try the breakfast sandwiches or waffles.

Both meals were incredible. It's hard to believe that this unassuming little restaurant in Warsaw had better food than most of the high-end places we've eaten at in Kansas City and other cities. The presentation was beautiful as well. Christian, our server, was polite and attentive. Two Michelin-star quality entrees w/sides, two glasses of wine, and incredibly all for well under $100 including a 25% tip. I highly recommend The Landing for anyone looking for great food in Warsaw.
