It's been a long time since I've been here last. Long enough that I've since graduated middle school, high school, college, and went and got married and had kids. We stopped in the other day after going to Hicks for pumpkins and Otto, and it was pleasantly empty for an early-ish friday. We were promptly sat, but it took a little while for someone to come to our table. Food was ordered all at once, and let me tell you, everything is as incredible as I remember it. I was craving a burger and the Williston Park hit perfectly. They were decorated for halloween, but the memories of 20+ years prior were there like they never left. This is a Long Island staple, and I hope to be able to come back and visit whenever I'm feeling nostalgic. I'm hoping the new owners continue the old Hildebrandt's way. Ice cream is available to go, and the two pints we brought home did NOT last long.

Came here to celebrate Sovereignty's win. Lol. Had a burger and coffee egg cream. Id have to say the egg cream was a bit of disappointment. Not sure what it was missing but it tasted weak. Burger was fine. And our ice cream dessert was yummy. Seating is first come, first serve, seat yourself. The young staff was a bit off but nothing too serious.

I've passed by this diner so many times and my husband has always wanted to come so we finally made it in with some friends after many years! They seat you once you come in and the decor inside is so cute. I love how it feels like an old school soda shop / ice cream parlour. They even make their own cola! Service was quick and there was quite a few groups of people inside so the staff didn't check up on us much, but that's fine. We got some drinks to start (lemonade, orangeade, homemade coke, soda floats) and they were overall pretty good. I also love that the drinks came with a glass straw, which honestly made it more fun to drink out of. The lemonade and orangeade were very refreshing, not too sweet. The soda float was definitely heavier as expected but being an ice cream shop, it seemed like a must. There's also so many ice cream flavors which we were unfortunately too full to try their sundaes and will need to make another trip back for! We got burgers, chicken tenders and fries, onion rings, fries, and a tuna melt. Their side of fries is completely different from the fries that came with the chicken tenders. The side of fries were more of fried slices of potatoes while the fried with the chicken tenders were the thin classic fries. The chicken tenders were small and that appetizer overall just needed some extra flavor. The tuna melt was good, hard to mess up. Burgers were thick and the cheese was melted perfectly on the burgers but it was lacking a bit of flavor as well. We also weren't expecting it to come with rolls as the buns, which isn't preferred. Onion rings were good but expected a few more than just 6 pieces. Overall, these items were decent. I would still come back for the ambiance and to try other items on the menu though!

No reservations taken. Can move tables together for large group. Metered parking on street. Hildebrandt's is a classic 1920's soda shop and ice cream parlour, but also serves one heck of a burger (listed in the original edition of George Motz's Hamburger America). And I'm a big fan! The 8 oz Alfredo burger (medium) served with melted American cheese, tomato, grilled onions, bacon, avocado slices and their special sauce. The special sauce contains mustard, so I got it without. The meat was so juicy and flavorful that I didn't need to add ketchup. The 4 oz cheeseburger is also great (light meal or big snack). The fries are what I'd always imagined "chips" to be... of fish and chips fame. They're shaped like potato chips, but thicker and obviously more potato-ey. For dessert I had the hot fudge sundae with chocolate quad and mallomar. Muy excellente! Others had floats and were happy with their choices.

We came to try the ice cream that people have been talking about and decided to have lunch first. I appreciate that the mayo was on the side as I forgot to tell them to hold it on my BLT. For $11 I expect more than three slices of bacon and too much lettuce. The bacon and toast were cooked well. No fatty undercooked pieces, a pet peeve of my sister. The shoestring potatoes we ordered were cold and undercooked. If you want water I suggest that you ask for a tall glass as the straw was twice the size of the glass. No ketchup, salt (which the fries really needed) or pepper on the table. I just took them from another table because once the plates were on the table that ended any sighting of servers. I do have to say that it got crowded so there's that. The coleslaw was good a little sweet with carrots in it. I'm hoping the $2.50 coleslaw side is bigger than the tiny one that accompanied our sandwiches. As for the ice cream which is why we came, the kids peach ice cream to go was a good size. That's where the good stopped. There was no peach flavor. It tasted like vanilla ice cream with some little pieces of what was supposed to be peach even though the color was peachy orange. I couldn't find a flavor I wanted to try. I'm guessing because this place is smaller they don't have a lot of room for many flavors. Although they do have quite a few tables and a large display case with pints for $11. Not worth it IMO. Street parking only but residential behind it so I was able to find a space as the school there was not in session. Only one bathroom but it was very clean. Had a new to me system that you scan a QR code on the check at the table to pay ( I guess I'm old) and get a discount if you do. There was no real theme, a jukebox, Taylor Swift and Kobe Brant signage on the walls. So I'm still looking for peach ice cream.

Even though I live in the area we have not been to Hildebrandt's until now. Came here my wife and daughters. We ordered Pistachio on a cone, and cup of chocolate and a cup of coconut (special of the day) I shared with my wife. We all enjoyed every bit of the ice cream. It was very fresh, creamy, like home made. The best ice cream around. Hope to be back soon before summer's over. Highly recommend Hildebrandt's Awesome ice cream.

Let me tell you , the new Hildebrandt's is a big disappointment. Where do I start?? You walk in and there are 3 huge tvs on the wall where nostalgic memories used to be. The glass showcase filled with chocolates and other delicious candy is gone and replaced with more tables and chairs. They had the best chocolate and jellybeans ever , before new owners took over. Next you seat yourself , there's no direction whatsoever, as the owner sits watching his satellite tvs and doesn't even greet you when you walk in. So we sat down at a table and just waited till someone came over. I ordered the banana split, and my wife ordered two scoops of icecream. She had the mint chip which tasted like toothpaste with too much mint and cappuccino which was very bland. As for my banana split it was half the original size, and was 14.25 ...are you kidding me . The old Hildebrandts portions were twice the size and the waiters were very sweet and nice. Heck the banana split had only 1/4 of a banana in it. This place is a disappointment to say the least. The flare and feel are gone. Sad I was coming here as a young child . Now to my knowledge, they are going to have boozy milkshakes. I guess the owners are trying everything to bring in people but don't understand that all they really need is to show some interest in what really made this iconic soda fountain work for all these years. A soda fountain with a whole wall about horses and racing horses?? Makes no sense and isn't a soda fountain anymore.

Great old school diner! Had a soda float there and it was amazing! Staff was very friendly and attentive despite there being a busy lunch crowd. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of their ice cream offerings!

A magical birthday experience! I have been drying to check out Hildebrandt's for years and there's no better time than your birthday. I love everything old and this place was simply adorable. We passed the original phone booth and sad at the counter which really takes you back in time. The young man behind the counter wasn't very attentive or a good server but I wouldn't let that ruin my time. Up one hearing it was my birthday, the manager gave us 50% off our brownie sundae which was delicious. I had no idea you could also eat dinner there so maybe that's for next time.

I came here with my dad, my son and my friend Cathy. She likes doing family stuff with my dad and my son when we do it. I was excited for the pie a la mode but they didn't have apple pie and it ruined my mood for trying their ice cream so I settled on sweet potato fries. They made them in an interesting way because they cut the potatoes into circle sized pieces instead of the stick shape fries normally are but they were good. My son had chocolate ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and whipped cream. I forgot what my dad and Cathy got. This is one of the little old fashioned long island places left I love places like that, that look old timey. It's worth the visit.

After walking around the mall, my sister and I stopped by to sample some flavors. We tried the Sicilian Pistachio and Strawberry Yuzu Cheesecake, both were pretty good but we preferred the Peanut Butter Brownie Honeycomb and the Brown Sugar Cookie Dough Brownie. They were divine! We couldn't stop saying how good it was. One thing we appreciated was that the young lady who served us was an absolute sweetheart. She was patient and gave us time to figure out what we wanted to order. It was also nice that the workspace was clean and that they used metal spoons instead of plastic to sample items. I truly like the clouds and hot air balloons decor. There are a few parking spots right in front. A staff member welcomed us in and we chose a table to sit while looking at the menu. My husband ordered the Mixed Fresh Fruit w. Sago & Jelly in Coconut Juice ($9.25). It only took a few minutes for our order to arrive at the table. I really enjoyed the Mango Coconut Sticky Rice w. The place is ultra small and easy to miss on Post Ave. Inside, it's not huge but they have a bunch of tables and their lighting is pretty good. So I grabbed one of their menus that they had by the cash register and took a look. I was impressed because their prices seemed very reasonable. Key word being 'seemed'. I decided to order their enchiladas platter with red sauce, which was listed at $14. Unfortunately, when I went to pay for my meal, I was told that the menus were old, and that the real price for the meal was closer to $20. I might've even paid more than that with tax included; don't remember 100%. But that was very disappointing. I told the young lady who was working there that they price was listed at $14 on their own menu; she responded that the correct price was listed somewhere on their board. Though I'm pretty sure it was unintentional, I felt a bit duped. Anyways, I took my food back home to see how it was. I couldn't help but to compare this enchilada platter to the one offered at Little Mexico about a block away cause they offer the same thing. So, first off, Little Mexico gives you a ton of chips and salsa when you order a platter from them. This was not present at Juicebox. The platter at Little Mexico definitely gives you more food overall. Anyways, I dug in, and the platter from Juice Box wasn't bad. The flavor was pretty good and there wasn't anything too offensive about it, but unfortunately it just pales in comparison to the enchiladas at Little Mexico. I couldn't help but to be disappointed that the enchiladas platter at Juicebox was less food, no chips, tasted worse, and was more expensive. The enchiladas platter at Little Mexico comes out to about $17-18 after tax. So those were my thoughts overall. So that was my experience with Juicebox Cafe. I might give it another shot in the future cause it's close to my home, but I don't feel inclined to, especially after the pricing debacle I experienced and the price I paid didn't seem justified.
