The entire cleaning process was very asthma-friendly -- the pre-treatment solution had almost no smell, and he did a thorough job of cleaning it out afterward and didn't leave any behind in the carpet. The attachment his truck uses is different from a regular "steam wand" -- it has rotating heads that blast steam at the carpet from all directions and do a really thorough job of knocking loose dirt and dust -- and it has a tight seal around the edges so it DOESN'T spray stuff around the room while cleaning! And when he was finished the carpet was damp, not soaking wet -- which means it could finish drying quickly, before mold or dust mites could grow in the moisture. The musty odor and allergens are gone, and I can now breathe easy! I HIGHLY recommend Steaming Mad both to people with allergies/asthma and to anyone else who wants their carpet REALLY clean.
