We have been staying here for nearly ten years and also got married here. We always enjoy our stay,…read moreand have since started staying in the lodge vs a cabin! The cabins are still being upgraded and upgraded ones are much cleaner and nicer than their older cabins. There is also now WiFi throughout the village when previously it was only available in the lodge. It is nice to be able to sit back and relax and enjoy the amenities of the whole village. There is a pool and many activities to participate in. We are unsure of the amenities such as mini golf or frisbee golf now cost money but did have to pay $5/each when visiting this last trip so that is something to be aware of!

We got a cabin with a king and 2 queens. We are local so we came around lunch to use the pool before check in. When the cabin was ready we quickly unloaded everything. We noticed a few things like the rusted out bottom of the front door and rips in the kitchen floor. We knew booking that it was dated, I'm fine with dated but not ok with dirty. We spent the rest of the day at the pool. When we got back to the cabin that evening to make dinner (because wow the up-charges rival Disney level $) we noticed ants on the countertops. Called the front desk and they sent someone up to spray. The whole place furniture and floors were sticky. When my daughter went to get in bed the sheets were dirty, hair and dirt in the made bed. I checked the king and something. So at 10pm we went to the front to get clean sheets for all the beds. I found it odd that not a single bed had a mattress protector. Wake up in the morning and the ants are everywhere. Any of the food that had been opened and secured again (like chips, mini donuts, and buns) had ants in it. So we went to the front desk, they moved us to a new cabin. I found the front desk and the staff very helpful. We loved the village atmosphere and this place has sooo much potential. We were really hoping to have t a great experience especially since booking the cabin for 2 nights was $777 and some change. Not a cheap stay! I feel like they have totally overshot their price mark. Once again I'm fine with dated..not ok with dirty. Cabin 1050 needs to be retired. I hope someone actually reads these reviews and does something about it. Like I said before we are local and will probably still come back for a day or night just because it is such a cool atmosphere.

Right from the start we were greeted by Rosa who immediately made us feel right at home with her warmth and humor. Chef Andrew is an incredible talent. Everything was just extraordinarily delicious! We started with a very yummy chili with cornbread followed by the best pork belly we have had with a yummy almond butter sauce (lord!!) and then finished it off with perfectly cooked flatiron steaks with yummy cowboy butter! Oh and Chef even brought us some crispy cilantro rice that was also just a masterpiece of flavors. I don't know how many times I stopped during our meal to exclaim "this is SO GOOD" ....but it was many. That was the food- the people and service were as if not more impressive. Taz, the innkeeper who served us was incredibly kind and friendly and even brought us a complimentary champagne toast, which was so nice and appreciated! Again Rosa was hilarious and so sweet to us and then we met Shannon who brought us our desserts at the end of our meal and also made us feel like old friends. It was so over the top good that I feel we will be forever spoiled! We definitely will be coming back to stay. Many thanks again

The front desk girls were so sweet, welcoming, and ready to take care of whatever we needed and the Innkeeper/GM, Taz, wow! She seems to do it all and does it with such grace and kindness and pays attention to every guest - no matter how busy. We enjoyed speaking with her and learning the history of this little tucked away find. And what a find! What a location! Magnificent views and so peaceful, yet so many things you can do - especially nothing at all! Exploring was so much fun! They have an age limit of 13 years so keep that in mind if you have kiddos but what an escape and needed respite for us. They make fresh baked cookies in the morning - so delicious. Service overall was impeccable and we felt well cared for. Even better than warming up by the gorgeous fire and having our cocktails hand delivered was the food. The Chef most definitely has talent and the quail was perfection - also such creative presentation of his dishes! Who knew 5-star quality dining was waiting for us in such a perfectly remote location. It is so gorgeous up here as the weather turns cooler but we will definitely have to come back in the summer to take advantage of the water activities. We met beautiful people during our stay and if the fact couples make it a point to keep coming back years later doesn't speak to you about how special this place is, maybe the fact that you will witness hospitality at its finest and truly hard-working human beings who not only serve up an amazing experience but true kindness. And in this world we're living in, this is a welcome refreshment. Many thanks to the entire team, Taz and Chef Andrew! We've come away with priceless memories and a more refined palette! Plans are already in the works to visit again soon!

The rooms are well accommodating -- the lighting is excellent (the best yet) and the towels are large and plush. The staff so very friendly and helpful. The rooftop lounge with the fire pit was fantastic. We spent considerable time enjoying sitting up there. The location of the hotel is perfect for shopping and eating. Speaking of eating, the restaurant at the hotel offers delicious meals. Don't hesitate to stay at the Everett!!

We would have loved to have stayed longer but we considered ourselves lucky to get a room at all during the peak Fall season. We stayed in Room 9 which is on the third floor loft with an interesting pitched ceiling but no windows. The room was great for afternoon napping and it was just footsteps away from the rooftop deck. For a longer stay we would have probably preferred a room on the second floor with windows. I love American history, architecture and Americana so staying in this old circa 1904 bank was fabulous. We even took a peak at the old bank vault that is now used as a wine cellar and pantry inside the restaurant. The hotel staff here is top notch. Everyone was so welcoming and I appreciate that the hotel called before our stay to see if we wanted to make a reservation in The Bistro. The Bistro is a small, quaint, refined restaurant that books full for its dinner service so it's nice that they make sure hotel guests have an opportunity to book first. Our dinner in the Bistro was fabulous - I had the filet while my husband had the Ettouffee. We also had breakfast at The Bistro the following morning which was also very good. In addition to the five-star staff and cozy room, we loved the location of The Everett Hotel. It was walking distance to everything in town including shops, restaurants and the train station. It was also a short drive to Smoky Mountain National Park. As an added bonus, it is right next door to the Swain County Heritage Museum. We were conveniently able to park behind the hotel. Other conveniences we appreciated were the filtered water and coffee in the hallway. A special shoutout to Daniel who made us feel so welcomed.

John and I took a weekend getaway for a leisurely weekend to Bridge Creek Inn. There we enjoyed the mountain views while exploring the wildlife, activities, and downtown shopping. Bridge Creek Inn is touted as Clayton's Living Room, a community gathering spot. You can catch a game or enjoy a cocktail from the Vandiver, their on-site upscale tavern. And being in the middle of downtown, it's THE place to stay and explore everything that downtown Clayton, GA has to offer. The moment you walk into the lobby "living room," the hotel greets you with natural wood beauty, soft wood furniture, darker wood ceiling, and plush and cozy seating areas that dot the lobby. It's calming from the second you enter. Gather by the fire, grab a quick coffee or snack at their cafe, and people watch from their cozy lounge area. It's the place to relax and unwind. Upstairs, our room was the spacious King Suite with 180 views of the mountains and downtown! Simple and clean, yet modern and new, it was a beautiful room. The bathroom was light and bright, large shower, and pristine vanity. Heading around the corner is a cozy seating area with leather chairs made for a fun reading nook. The bed area drew your eye with a dark blue accent wall, mountain decor, and a comfy, large, king bed. Plus, we could look at the Mountain View all day. As we mentioned, they have an upscale tavern restaurant on site, The Vandiver, a main street tavern. Only open for 5 days when we visited, the space has some serious casual steakhouse vibes. Think exposed wood beams and circular booths. We're impressed with the delectable shared plates, sensational dishes, and elevated cocktails! Like the Venison Wellington that's super tender and juicy deer, cooked perfectly without a hint of game. The meat is surrounded by a perfect pastry that's crunchy on the outside, yet flaky and gloating in a moat of rich and deep jus around it.
