Not five star dining, but delicious. Best way to enjoy is riding your motorcycle here.

Right from the start we were greeted by Rosa who immediately made us feel right at home with her warmth and humor. Chef Andrew is an incredible talent. Everything was just extraordinarily delicious! We started with a very yummy chili with cornbread followed by the best pork belly we have had with a yummy almond butter sauce (lord!!) and then finished it off with perfectly cooked flatiron steaks with yummy cowboy butter! Oh and Chef even brought us some crispy cilantro rice that was also just a masterpiece of flavors. I don't know how many times I stopped during our meal to exclaim "this is SO GOOD" ....but it was many. That was the food- the people and service were as if not more impressive. Taz, the innkeeper who served us was incredibly kind and friendly and even brought us a complimentary champagne toast, which was so nice and appreciated! Again Rosa was hilarious and so sweet to us and then we met Shannon who brought us our desserts at the end of our meal and also made us feel like old friends. It was so over the top good that I feel we will be forever spoiled! We definitely will be coming back to stay. Many thanks again

The front desk girls were so sweet, welcoming, and ready to take care of whatever we needed and the Innkeeper/GM, Taz, wow! She seems to do it all and does it with such grace and kindness and pays attention to every guest - no matter how busy. We enjoyed speaking with her and learning the history of this little tucked away find. And what a find! What a location! Magnificent views and so peaceful, yet so many things you can do - especially nothing at all! Exploring was so much fun! They have an age limit of 13 years so keep that in mind if you have kiddos but what an escape and needed respite for us. They make fresh baked cookies in the morning - so delicious. Service overall was impeccable and we felt well cared for. Even better than warming up by the gorgeous fire and having our cocktails hand delivered was the food. The Chef most definitely has talent and the quail was perfection - also such creative presentation of his dishes! Who knew 5-star quality dining was waiting for us in such a perfectly remote location. It is so gorgeous up here as the weather turns cooler but we will definitely have to come back in the summer to take advantage of the water activities. We met beautiful people during our stay and if the fact couples make it a point to keep coming back years later doesn't speak to you about how special this place is, maybe the fact that you will witness hospitality at its finest and truly hard-working human beings who not only serve up an amazing experience but true kindness. And in this world we're living in, this is a welcome refreshment. Many thanks to the entire team, Taz and Chef Andrew! We've come away with priceless memories and a more refined palette! Plans are already in the works to visit again soon!

We got a cabin with a king and 2 queens. We are local so we came around lunch to use the pool before check in. When the cabin was ready we quickly unloaded everything. We noticed a few things like the rusted out bottom of the front door and rips in the kitchen floor. We knew booking that it was dated, I'm fine with dated but not ok with dirty. We spent the rest of the day at the pool. When we got back to the cabin that evening to make dinner (because wow the up-charges rival Disney level $) we noticed ants on the countertops. Called the front desk and they sent someone up to spray. The whole place furniture and floors were sticky. When my daughter went to get in bed the sheets were dirty, hair and dirt in the made bed. I checked the king and something. So at 10pm we went to the front to get clean sheets for all the beds. I found it odd that not a single bed had a mattress protector. Wake up in the morning and the ants are everywhere. Any of the food that had been opened and secured again (like chips, mini donuts, and buns) had ants in it. So we went to the front desk, they moved us to a new cabin. I found the front desk and the staff very helpful. We loved the village atmosphere and this place has sooo much potential. We were really hoping to have t a great experience especially since booking the cabin for 2 nights was $777 and some change. Not a cheap stay! I feel like they have totally overshot their price mark. Once again I'm fine with dated..not ok with dirty. Cabin 1050 needs to be retired. I hope someone actually reads these reviews and does something about it. Like I said before we are local and will probably still come back for a day or night just because it is such a cool atmosphere.

I believe there are two restaurants. We only ate what was served at the wedding. The food was standard, catering type food. They offer a bunch of wedding venue options. Ours was next to tge main building on the sun deck. The staff was great. The resort has a store with wine, snacks, and souvenirs. Our room was large with a balcony overlooking the woods. The temperature was comfortable. The bathroom was pretty outdated, but clean. There was a mini fridge and a loveseat. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were a little soft for me.

Parking's an issue if you're arriving when the bistro is open. We were always able to find a space, but sometimes not near the cabin. There are a couple signs for "cabin parking" but they were frequently moved, taken down, or ignored. Something the lodge should really fix. Roomy living space, couch, several more upholstered chairs, dining table. Wood burning fireplace (in season). Smartest TV I've seen in a hotel room. Most every streaming service you could think of, and when one wasn't there, it was a breeze to download and add. Full kitchen, basic plates, glasses, silverware. Paper towels provided. Microwave, oven, toaster, dishwasher, full fridge. A few ice trays. If you plan to do your own cooking, plan to take anything more you need. Roomy bathroom, walk in shower, great water pressure. Bed was wavy when moving, so a little partner disturbance, and wife complained it was not great on her back. Ok, but could use a refresh. Daily service as you need; leave a card with what you'd like checked each morning on the door. Overall an excellent place to stay in Townsend. Enough issues that for the price, we may look around a bit before returning.

This is our first visit…read moresince moving away 10 years ago and I wish that I I had just retained the memories and never come here again. I am writing this review on day one and I am stuck here for the next three days. Being surprised by me experience so far, I started reading these reviews and finally found one with some of the same issues with noise, etc. that we are experiencing, only to find the response by the property trying to dispute that guests experiences. I can't wait to see how they respond to mine. We arrived last night to our "cabin" and I thought there must be a mistake. It looked like I was looking into a duplex storefront of some sort and specifically, I was seeing the side of the business not meant for customers. Unfortunately, this was my "cabin". The original cabins seem to still be here, but these are new additions. Imagine you wanted to slap up some shacks as cheaply and quickly as possible to just cram people in, this is what you would end up with. Here are some amenities to look forward to: You will have a seating area that is basically your kitchen, a bathroom in between and then a bedroom in back where, if you love firm beds, prepare to be amazed. And don't forget, you will get to hear every footstep, syllable and cough of your neighbors on the other side of your paper thin wall! What an opportunity to make new friends! And just for good measure, you can awake to the sounds of housekeeping next door sounding like they are working on a demolition project as well as there constant driving up and down the road in front of your "cabin" on the gravel road. We went to dinner in their award winning restaurant last night. I wonder if the judges are the staff and owners in these competitions? I only mock this because when we dined here before, the food was art. The meals were unforgettable and memories you would discuss for years. I may discuss last nights meal for years, but not for the same reasons. To be fair, my wife had the mussels which she said were amazing. I settled on two shareables, the beef tips and the pork belly with Brussels. The beef tips were edible but if felt like someone was trying to take some beef trimmings and fancy them up to look like a real chef came up with something innovative. The pork belly was ghastly. I have had and made pork belly for years and this was embarrassing. It was 1 inch of un-rendered fat with a shaving of meat attached drowned in a spicy sauce in the hopes you wouldn't notice you were chewing on the same bite ten minutes later. Further, our server was one of those than cannot stop talking. For goodness sake, you may just as well pull up a chair and order something. I was worried this one might just follow us back to our room. This used to be owned by Blackberry Farm, but apparently was sold to some family who has destroyed what was once a true gem. This used to be one of the only places in this region that wasn't a tourist trap. I read the reviews of late here, and I can only think these are from people who never got to experience what this place once was and who would be just as happy at one of the tourist dives in Gatlinburg. I was taking a few days from work but I see no reason whatsoever to not just work remotely for the next three days to try and take my mind off of this nightmare. I gave it the second star only because the rain coming down on the roof last night was a pleasant sound that drowned out some

We would have loved to have stayed longer but we considered ourselves lucky to get a room at all during the peak Fall season. We stayed in Room 9 which is on the third floor loft with an interesting pitched ceiling but no windows. The room was great for afternoon napping and it was just footsteps away from the rooftop deck. For a longer stay we would have probably preferred a room on the second floor with windows. I love American history, architecture and Americana so staying in this old circa 1904 bank was fabulous. We even took a peak at the old bank vault that is now used as a wine cellar and pantry inside the restaurant. The hotel staff here is top notch. Everyone was so welcoming and I appreciate that the hotel called before our stay to see if we wanted to make a reservation in The Bistro. The Bistro is a small, quaint, refined restaurant that books full for its dinner service so it's nice that they make sure hotel guests have an opportunity to book first. Our dinner in the Bistro was fabulous - I had the filet while my husband had the Ettouffee. We also had breakfast at The Bistro the following morning which was also very good. In addition to the five-star staff and cozy room, we loved the location of The Everett Hotel. It was walking distance to everything in town including shops, restaurants and the train station. It was also a short drive to Smoky Mountain National Park. As an added bonus, it is right next door to the Swain County Heritage Museum. We were conveniently able to park behind the hotel. Other conveniences we appreciated were the filtered water and coffee in the hallway. A special shoutout to Daniel who made us feel so welcomed.
