I would like to update a review which I wrote upon receiving a damaged package from Highwire coffee, it appears below, and I have changed my rating accordingly. I want to thank you for replacing my damaged shipment. It was definitely much appreciated as was the gift which was included. This level of customer service is to me indicative of a company proud of their product and reputation. I would not hesitate to order from Highwire again in the future. Again thank-you. read more

The baristas at the Airstream trailer Highwire has in the garden at Flowerland Nursery are the BEST! They pull their espresso drinks like pros & are friendly & efficient to boot. read more

Everyone is 100% right about the spot being a gem except for one tiny thing: Their coffee is really not very good. And by not very good I mean just not good. Pastry was tasty and walking around the nursery was great but other than that I wasn't impressed. Next time, I think I'll skip the coffee and go just for the plants. read more

Amazing!!! Hands down, this is my favorite place to get coffee in the East Bay. Delicious coffee, friendly staff, yummy pastries, and a beautiful surrounding. read more

Best coffee in the Bay!!! I'm only in Albany once a week and look forward to treating myself to a latte from Highwire. The taste, temperature, and creaminess is always consistent. The customer service is also pleasant. If I lived closer I would dump Peet's in a heart beat. For now, Highwire will be my weekly treat. read more

Such a beautiful quaint location! The tea is something special. It's right next to flowerland nursery which makes it perfect for a stroll while enjoying your coffee and tea. read more

We went to the Highwire Coffee Roasters to have some iced coffee on a hot day. The atmosphere with all the flowers and plants is great (2 stars), but the coffee tasted so sour that we had to pour it away. Can't recommend this place for iced coffee (no coldbrew btw). read more

Found this place after a long hike in Tilden Park and was not disappointed. Definitely want to make a return trip. The coffee area is a chill bro in an airstream trailer, in a garden surrounded by flowers and other plants for sale. The espresso itself is very good and smooth. They skimp a little on the amount for their iced latte, but it's still pretty good. read more

I love this place. It's a little piece of heaven every time I visit. Coffee is good. I'm going to break the bank buying stuff I don't need from the flower shop every time I get a coffee though. Parking is easy. Prices are fair. Baristas are not snobs. Big big plus. read more

Excellent atmosphere and coffee. The chai tea latte might be my favorite though! The coffee trailer is located in a serene spot in a plant nursery on a friendly street (Solano). I love to come here with a friend for a hot cup and a chat. Afterwards, we love to look in the Flowerland boutique for gifts. read more

Disclaimer: I am a Coffee snob extraordinaire. I do not drink Starbucks, in my younger naive years I drank Peet's (I was a very loyal customer!) but I have wised up, a fine quality wet processed coffee bean, from a high altitude central American producer, roasted a week ago?? Any takers?? (You're insane if your hand isn't raised in the air right now.) Adding sugar or cream to this coffee is to put lightly - utter blasphemy! The beautiful vibrant fruity flavors in these beans are not to be messed with, drink it black, taste the beauty of real, fresh coffee, you won't regret it... I am currently enjoying a cup of Las Palomas beans from Costa Rica. A very lovely mild and sweet bean, highly recommended. I guess I should also comment on the service at this establishment, it easy and quick- I purchased my 12oz of beans and received a complimentary drip coffee which happened to be made from the beans I purchased. Very happy to taste my purchase as I made it. :) A word to the wise: Jitters and heart burn are the thing of the past when you have fine beans, toxins from bad beans actually cause those issues- MOLD to be exact, freshly roasted wet processed beans will rarely (if ever) have mold and thus will not cause you to be jittery or have indigestion/heartburn. Try some Four Barrel if you don't believe me, you skeptic you. ;) read more

It is very nice to have a cup of coffee in the garden, because this shop is located in a nursery. I like to do some outdoor stuff on weekends but I also like this kind of relaxed weekend with coffee. There are a lot of interesting people to see, many cute dogs and cats walking in the neighborhood. Very nice. The taste of coffee is also perfect. read more

My new favorite coffee place in the Berkeley area. First, it's a cute little hipster-ish truck you order from. The guy taking my order this weekend put up with my questions about the PALEO MUFFINS(!!!) they had, giving me some grief in a humorous way. He was great. Second, the coffee is great, including the option of almond milk AND they have Paleo muffins. Bonus points all around. They also have a cute little seating area right next to the truck perfect for working or reading.... or browsing plants! Third, as alluded to above, this Albany shop is located inside of the coolest (and large) plant nursery. Get your coffee and sip while you check out some pretty awesome plants. Very well kept and gorgeous nursery! I'm a lover of coffee and plants so this place was pretty much my heaven. read more

Aren't you disturbed by the non-parallel Yelp treatment of the Solano and San Pablo Local 123s? Yelp views the latter establishment as closed; the Highwire in its place is considered to be a new business. Currently there are four reviews at San Pablo http://www.yelp.com/biz/highwire-coffee-roasters-berkeley-3 . By contrast, the Solano Local Yelp page has morphed into the Highwire page, so there's only one page instead of two. Different locations, different treatment. Maybe Yelp is trying to see if anyone is paying attention. Life goes on at the trailer. I bought a pound of Highwire beans and ordered a gibraltar for immediate consumption. The coffee is at least a notch more dark than the coffee at Blue Bottle, but I can appreciate the Highwire style. The Slipstream-made gibraltar was very good, but I do believe that I've had better. In particular, the Intelligentsia macchiato that I was served a few days before in Chicago lives on a higher plane than the Highwire drink. read more

I spent a month in the East Bay, and after I discovered this spot I was there every day. They serve Four Barrel coffee, and the drinks, while maybe not up to the quality of the best specialty coffee in San Francisco, were consistently great. The staff is fantastic. Best of all is the space. Instead of fighting for a seat at the other location, here you get to sit at outdoor patio furniture in the middle of a beautiful plant nursery, amidst a nursery staff who are constantly busy making sure that their plants look their best. The coffee and nursery staff share an attention to detail that makes for a great morning cup of coffee in a pleasant setting. Plus, there are resident dogs and cats. read more

We needed coffee before driving back down to LA this morning...and checking Yelp from our Airbnb, we found this place amongst many coffee shops in the area. Seeing the good reviews, we drove around the corner and put in our orders for 2 lattes, 1 coffee, and 1 Gibraltar. Even though it was only 1 person taking orders, being cashier and barista, drinks came out quick and tasted great. I loved the Gibraltar -- smooth and creamy...and it kept me wired to plow through the I-5 for 5 straight hours back to LA. read more

My wife and I stopped in for coffee at Local 123 a few Sundays ago. Hanging around was a treat; not many coffee joints are located in a nursery. There were a couple chairs in various places around Flowerland's outdoor area. The coffee's definitely pricey, at least a buck more than any nearby cup of joe. The iced coffee I ordered was delicious, though, as was the scone. Between the good coffee and ambiance this place is definitely a recommended coffee stop if it's a nice day. read more

Super cute shop located in a plant nursery! Although my drink was tasty (16oz iced vanilla latte w/ 1 added shot), it was also really not THAT special. Especially for the hefty price of $7.50!!! I don't think any basic coffee drink should exceed $5-6. I understand that it is quality coffee, but I think the $2.50 extra for syrup & an extra shot is excessive compared to the other coffee shops in the area that I've tried. read more

I've come back a few times and I like this place more and more each time. I think they've actually gotten better with their barrista training over the years. read more

Great service, delicious pastries (don't miss the savory mushroom pastry or the ham and cheese croissant.). The cappuccino is out of this world. Loved it, always come here every time I'm in the east bay. read more

amazing coffee shop in a beautiful space. love that they serve coffee at a drinkable temperature. only thing i would change is their hours. wish they would open earlier so i could stop by before work read more

Another great location from Highwire Coffee. This is the second location that I have visited, and my favorite because of the quirky garden trailer arrangement. It feels like the place should be on an episode of Portlandia or similar show. The barista was super friendly and pretty good at her craft. The shots were maybe a second or two overdone, but the drink was still very pleasant and satisfied my needs. I like the selection and roast of their espresso beans, and purchased my second bag from them. They've definitely earned a regular place in my rotation of espresso at home. Their Highwire espresso is an unusually smooth roast and highly enjoyable. When I pass through town on business they're somewhere worth stopping to visit. This particular location was reasonably close to the interstate and I was able to hop off, grab a latte, and get back on without much inconvenience. read more

Probably one of the best vanilla lattes I've ever had in my entire life. My husband loved their coffee. We will probably be back tomorrow to buy coffee beans. It's so wonderful that this place is tucked away right next to a plant shop. The atmosphere is lovely and I get to plant-shop with a beautiful beverage. This may be my new favorite spot in the area. read more

LOVE the location and setting of this coffee stop. It's a small trailer inside of a plant nursery, so you are surrounded by beautiful flowers while you enjoy your drink. The coffee blend I tried was delicious! I can't remember the name, but I know they change the coffee they have on brew quite often. The menu mainly focuses on brewed coffees and teas, and it is pretty easy to navigate because they list the notes of each blend. The baristas working at Highwire were very nice and super helpful to me and my friend. They knew about all of the drinks and were able to give us great recommendations. If you're walking around the neighborhood, I definitely recommend finding this tucked away coffee shop and checking out the nursery. read more

So glad that I found Highwire, their coffee and pastries are delicious. Definitely THE BEST almond croissant in the area.

5 stars for the experience. You get to drink coffee in the middle of a garden with beautiful flowers.

Mandatory Solano Ave stop! Must try this little hidden gem. Oh and they sell 3rd culture bakery Mochi muffins.

Cute little coffee trailer hidden on the property of a cute little gardening store. (Well actually... it's a medium-sized garden center.) Chairs around to sit on. Very friendly staff. Good non-dairy options. Compostable cups. I would probably not have noticed this place, even though it's right there on Solano... glad to have found them via Yelp. read more

We love this spot - good coffee nestled in a beautiful plant nursery located in a fun, walkable neighborhood. What's not to like?

They're nice here. And best location for a cafe ever. Yummy pastries and good coffee. Pricey though!

Adorable coffee shop on wheels nestled in a charming gardening store/nursery! Lots of wooden benches and well-situated seating areas to enjoy your coffee among the plants and pottery. Great way to have your weekend morning coffee. read more

This place is magic. The chais are awesome and the pastries are great. The baristas are so friendly and awesome. The best part is that it's nestled in a nursery, so you can enjoy your latte in the sunshine surrounded by beautiful greenery. It's my oasis! They do close early and it's not obvious that they've closed. Highwire might consider somehow making this more obvious (maybe a big sign?) because I've overheard people get pretty disgruntled when they're (politely) turned away. read more

Honestly the cutest set-up I've ever seen. It's part of this nursery so you get so sit in the middle of all these succulents and flowers. All the people wandering about were so friendly and chatty. What better atmosphere can you get? The girl working the trailer was super friendly bubbly too. Coffee was good, got a mocha and the chocolate was nice and dark but not too overpowering. Definitely coming back read more

Cute and quaint coffee shop that serves some great coffee and my personal favorite - Kashmiri Chai (which is basically saffron milk with a few Indian spices). read more

This place makes great Kashmiri chai. It tastes of fresh cardamom, not a weird pre-made mix like many other coffee shops (even though they do use a chai mix). My husband really loves their coffee and the ginger cookie because the cookies aren't too sweet and it contained chunks of candied ginger. We also love their mochi muffins. Will definitely visit again soon! read more

I'm an absolute coffee snob and I love a delicious cappuccino. Even better when im sitting outside in a green garden. This place has it all. Also bought some beans here to make my own espresso at home, a bit pricey but delicious. read more

The outdoor space is amazing and that is all this place has going for it. I had an iced coffee and a pastry during my visit to Highwire Coffee Roasters and both were disappointments. The iced coffee was the worst iced coffee I have had during my three years in the SF area and that is saying something! I do not recommend coming to this establishment if you're looking for quality coffee or food. read more

Found this little gem by searching for a coffee spot that was close to my hair appointment using yelp and I am very happy about it. It's in a nursery so you have the best garden vibes and the coffee is unreal (and I'm not even that huge of a coffee fan) a bit pricy but that's expected.
