everything bagel with cream cheese, egg and bacon

the service is quick and reliable, the bagels taste so homemade it hits the spot! The ambiance is calming.

Still hot they steamed up the plastic container!

The owners of this establishment are very nice. #supportlocal We've been frequenting this place for years (I'm surprised I never did a review). Their bagels are good and get there early or your desired bagel may be out of stock. Every time we have family visiting from Boston, they absolutely love Hightstown Bagel. In fact, my brother-in-law ends up getting bagels here several mornings in a row, because my 12 year old niece is a huge fan. This morning, I needed a dozen bagels to drop off at a friend's whose father passed. Although, they didn't have any platters on hand, they were able to find a nice container. It made the porch drop off look so much better than brown bags. My friend and her family thought they were "yummy" and wanted to know where I purchased them. Thank you Hightstown Hot Bagel for more happy customers!!

Bacon egg and cheese on a sesame bagel, ehh. Not the best I've had.

This used to be my bagel place of choice but I go elsewhere now. The bagels are average, not bad but not great. I also feel like their bagels are kind of small in comparison to other bagel places. Recently I had to head that way in the late morning. They had like 4 bagels left at 10:30 am -- thankfully I got one of the last! I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on a sesame bagel with salt pepper and ketchup and it was not good unfortunately. The bacon was fatty and the sandwich didn't seem like it had a lot of egg and barely any ketchup. I paid about $4.50 for it and it just wasn't worth it. However, the staff is always pleasant. I'm sure I'll be back out of convenience, but it's not my first choice in town.

They have the BEST chocolate milk, per my 6&8 yr old Niece and nephew... lol Seriously I LOVE their bagels, so much that I transported a dozen back to Arizona with me!

Bagels are standard but their quality isn't the best. Decided to change it up and go with hightstown bagels, I had used to go here every weekend but then we changed it up with a different bagel place. The quality of the bagels were just ok, they were usually a little harder than normal and didn't have as many types as other places would. I got the everything bagel with lox and cream cheese. First off they were very generous with the lox which I appreciated ! The bagel was ok, it was a little harder than expected like the type that could cut the roof of your mouth. As well as the everything was heavier on the garlic to the point where if I closed my eyes I'd think it was primarily a garlic bagel. For bagel places this place isn't bad definitely if convenient a great place to go to!

The bagels here are alright at best. I got a bagel with cream cheese and a bagel with peanut butter and it cost me $6. There was barely any cream cheese/peanut butter on them, and they were out of blueberry bagels by 10am. The only reason for the 2nd star is because they accept credit cards, which is nice.

As a resident of the area, I did not want fast food,…read moredid not want a sloppy made sandwich, so I tried a new place, Brooklyn Bagels , in Twin Rivers, NJ. I Ordered a sandwich. So, I am into cleanliness, when and where I order my food. This am, approximately 9:30 am, July 31, 2026, this woman walked in the door, from the street, took dirty dishes, utensils off a table, walked in the kitchen and proceeded to have a conversation with the cook. Ugh...Ugh....no washing hands, I assume she did not touch the food, but is this sanitary ? ANSWER: NO !!! So, I stated what was just done is unsanitary and she walked in,literally from the street. A frequent patron, sitting in the store overheard, my complaints to the gentleman at the register. The frequent patron stated the woman worked there and was not working today. Excuse...excuse....this frequent patron, who was sitting at another table, further stated, he is a chef and he felt what she did was ok. No, no, NO....it is not ok, as a person in health care, this is one of the reasons why we have these different viruses running rampant. Explosive diarrhea, cousins, RSV.....Washing your hands is so important. This patron, who said he is a chef, in an attempt at sarcasm stated, the woman who walked in basically was , "she is not doing surgery". Washing hands and maintaining cleanliness around food preparation areas , is so important. Me, personally, that was my first and last time in Brooklyn Bagels. So, I got my sandwich, left the store and proceeded to Wawa. Everyone, in Wawa, the workers preparing food had gloves on, food prep was clean, no one from the street was seen entering the food prep area. My sandwich will go to my fur babies. So, trying to support the smaller business, was a let down, for me. No more Brooklyn Bagels. Does anyone know of a small establishment, which is clean, and food prep area is clean, that makes a nice, non sloppy bagel egg & bacon sandwich ? I may be asking for too much, I was just trying to stay away from the fast food chains....

However, they did a great job updating the tables, benches and counter, as well as opening up the diner to allow for additional seating. It's a diner and the food and service fit that description perfectly. The food is solid and reasonably priced diner fare. Service is friendly and efficient. Everything is cold, sterile, and trying way too hard to be trendy instead of just being a good old fashioned train car diner. The prices are ridiculous for what you get, especially considering it used to be a spot where you could grab a solid, affordable meal. Now it's all style over substance, overpriced plates, smaller portions, and none of the comfort or the charm that made it worth going to in the first place. It's disappointing to see a place that once felt local and authentic turn into just another generic, overpriced "modern vibe" spot. Definitely not what it used to be, and honestly not worth it anymore. Long time customer, now going elsewhere. Woodys in Allentown is much better.

I went with a Tuna Hoagie on foot long torpedo, with accompanying soft drink and bag o' chips. The tuna was freshly made, with tomato and lettuce, and a side cup of sliced dill pickles that I stuffed into the sandwich for extra crunch and semi sweet flavor enhancement. I had requested that the proposed pickle spear not be built into the sammy to avoid dampening the roll too long before consuming. The cashier/order taker/short order cook took care of business with a pleasant smile and engaging repartee. Ate when I arrived home 40 minutes later, and everything was in great shape and quite tasty. I could only finish half of the meal. From your sandwiches, omelettes, crepes, typical deserts such as cake and pie, to just about anything else you'd expect to find on a menu for a diner. The service was overall fine but nothing super special but it still is a decent diner to go to for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It is better to go around dinner time because then they give you complimentary garlic knots which are delicious. And the televisions they have around the diner are also nice to watch too so you don't feel bored. The only major criticisms I have is that there are times when there are tables that are still very dirty rather its from dirty dishes or too much dust lying around the diner. Another criticism is that the deserts maybe dry from sitting in the fridge too long which is disappointing because they look delicious. The final criticism is that it can be noisy too inside when its always busy. But that is expected as that happens anywhere. In the end, its a solid diner to go to. But it's not the best diner out there as there are plenty other better options for food and to hang out.
