Had a friend said I need try it because I wasn't having much success finding a really good Chinese restaurant, beside the corporate Panda Express which ain't S#it without the firecracker shrimp. I have now ordered the Triple Kung Pao delight and plain Lo Mein noodles 4 times and it's is absolutely amazing. The portions are huge, the lo mein barely fits in the box and I have dinner for 3 days and I'm not a small person. I have never dined in but plan to I the future, the inside is like any regular Chinese restaurant I've been in, the important thing, it's clean. Plenty of parking, and the restaurant is family owned so they actually are doing their absolute best and give a S#it. As long as I get a chance to say hi to Yuki, I will look forward to continued patronage there. read more

On a three-day road trip west on I-80, we wanted to stop somewhere that wasn't too far off the route and we were all craving Chinese food. Highlands Great Wall did not disappoint! We got plenty of fresh, hot, tasty food and it made our long trip so much better. We were lucky to get to the restaurant just before they closed. So grateful they were open until 9:30pm, as many other places closed much earlier. Looking forward to stopping back on the return trip. read more

Very generous portions, always have lots of yummy leftovers. But I'm writing this because the crab Rangoon is not good at all and I sincerely wish they would change the recipe. COVID hit this place hard. The food is as great as ever and so is the price, but DON'T EAT IN. The dining area is disgusting. Sauce smears all over the floor and tables, take-out supplies' boxes stacked on a table, only about five soda dispensers stocked, and water dripping from the HVAC in one spot. very adorable interior, lovely decor and ambiance. the people who took our order were so kind, they also helped explain to us when we were confused about the amount of rice we'd get as a side. as for the food, it's always amazing, but my absolute favorite are the crab rangoons!! it has a delicious cream cheese mixture inside of the crispy fried wonton exterior. all food i've had from highlands great wall has been so well seasoned and tasty, i think they have very intricate and delicious flavors in what they serve. i also cannot recommend the crab rangoons enough!! they are a MUST! read more

Well, after the close calls in Dutch's gang I decided to get out of the crime business and to celebrate, I ordered takeout from the Highlands Great Wall website. Now, when it comes to Chinese food, I like a good Mongolian beef, ya know? LOTS of onions and beef. It just feels like it mends my many hundreds of gunshot wounds from the last shootout in Saint Denis. Anyways, so I ordered that, an order of fried shrimp, and an order of 2 egg rolls. The Mongolian Beef was wonderful. This dish earned the stars you see above this review. Now on to the trouble: The fried shrimp was just okay. It had too thick of batter, and seemed like a premade product from the distributor, as I'm sure it was. It was very dry. No big deal, I was just curious. The egg rolls were AMAZING. BUT. The person who assembled my takeout neglected to send any sweet and sour sauce for the egg rolls. I have never felt more hated in my entire life than when I got home that night, unpacked this exciting meal, and realized they didn't care to send sweet and sour sauce. I wailed in sadness and grief and when I saw a cute possum in my backyard I clicked on the old deadeye and shot it in the face 19 times with my volcanic pistol, which made me feel a little better. But I will never order from this establishment again, how could I ever trust them after what they did to me? It's time to move on, John. Let it go. read more

Love the great wall they have some of the best Chinese food I have ever eaten!!! Portions leave you never leaving hungry and if you do it'd your own fault. Crabrangoon is the bomb. But you have to get their wonton soup!!! Then again I have never had anything bad there and when I lived I. Lincoln I ate here a TON!!! A must go to!!! Prices are also really reasonable especially with the amount of food you get!!! read more

Complete cheapskates... I have gone to this restaurant about once a week for the last couple of years. I always comply with their ridiculous "$10 Card Minimum" that is so important to them that they have to hang signs everywhere throughout the restaurant. Strange because majority of their menu items are under $10...it's almost like they want you to buy more! Today the area ATM was down so I asked if I could pay today only using my card. Didn't think this would be a problem given I am a longtime customer. But wow-no wiggle room on the $10 minimum. The woman working told me I needed to order more food and wait for them to cook it (I ordered to go) or that I couldn't pay for my lunch using the card. I told her I would not order more food that I would not eat, so they would not let me pay for my lunch and kept it! I left because this is ridiculous business practice-stop being so cheap and offer card services to your customers. You can afford the 2 cents per transaction. Aside from a few good menu items, this is mostly what classifies this restaurant...I think they probably just set their own weird little rules because there aren't that many Chinese places on this side of town. Great portions for the price. I ordered the House Special Low Mein and it was a lot...I like the flatter noodles but the flavor was cool. Didn't care much for the spring rolls, they tasted like an egg roll. The egg drop soup was good and I ordered the small and it was enough for me and some more. A word of caution the black pepper is grounded so it comes out white. I like to see pepper on my food so this was a bit weird but overall it was hot and fresh. We stopped frequenting Great Wall prior to the pandemic. The person at the cash register was arrogant and unhelpful so we chose to go elsewhere but all in all were very pleased with the food. We ordered there tonight as the place we go to now is closed on Sunday. This was meant to be a carry out birthday dinner for my son. Well, the dogs are getting a $100 birthday dinner. The egg rolls had a very thick crust. We bought 8, 6 thrown away The lo mein and beef broccoli had a very heavy, greasy brown sauce. The sweet and sour chicken, which I honestly didn't think could be ruined, had a horrible aftertaste which I think was due to the unimaginable amount of grease in them. Grease was dripping from my hands as I tore the chicken up to put in the dog bowl. I don't review on a regular basis. Only when a place is exceptional or horrible. Great Wall tonight was the latter. It's bad when 1 person can't get a lunch meal and be able to use there debit card. I get the credit card fees but a $10 minimum is pretty high. read more

For hands down the best Chinese take out in Lincoln the Highlands Great Wall is the place to be. I have traveled to the orient and have tasted the food and this is the closest I have found. It is always fresh, full of flavor, and plenty of it. There is no buffet but has a clean dine in area and the smells are absolutely free! The wonton soup is the best I have found in Lincoln. The wontons are huge and the broth is refreshing. I highly recommend this restraunt for the whole family because there is something on the menu for everyone. read more

Their prices use to seem reasonable but not so much anymore. Many other places serve same dishes for less and sometimes better quality. I use to like getting take out from here but after my last visit I don't think I will be back. I had gotten a meal to go and while eating it I found a short black hair, it was pretty disgusting. Highlands Great Wall has really tasty Chinese food, and the portions are pretty generous. The cost isn't bad, but a little higher than what I'm used to (~$35 for two, delivery). My girlfriend had a real struggle trying to order over the phone, something of a language barrier. They had to get someone else on their end to complete our order. Overall, not bad. If you are looking for an inexpensive meal in a hurry, this is the place to go. The portion sizes are large. You can dine in, take out, call ahead and pick-up. Food is always hot and always fast, not to mention tasty. My husband loves their combination plates, especially the garlic chicken. My recommendation, however, is to try the soups. My go to favorite is the wonton soup, but the house special soup is also wonderfully light and delicious. Lunch special is 5.99. Drink cost $2 for a small cup although you can get your own refrills. Why in the world should a drink cost 1/3 of your meal? I got the chicken lo mein. Hardly any chicken and they filled half the container with some yellow rice. My cousin got the dinner Mongolian beef. This is the only reason they are getting 2 stars. The crab rangoons were flash fried prior to being fried before being served which made the shell very hard for consumption. They were just filled with cream cheese, nothing special here. Move along and find something better for the price also. $27 for lunch with a lunch special for 2 and you have to Self Serve Yourself! There is no service at this place at all. read more
