This cabin has many stairs to walk up and the gravel grading on the road is steep. Hard to maneuver with my small SUV and for my mom who is limited with mobility. But we made it. Loved the rustic charm of the cabin. Please keep it rustic and May I suggest eliminating the modern/youthful decor as it doesn't pair well. (Pics to follow). Beds were clean and comfortable. Pull string on fan/light in bedroom needs to be longer. Kitchen was an accommodating but could use new pans, potholders and a smaller spatula to flip eggs. Keurig and K-Cups were a nice touch. Thank you. A deep cleaning is needed! No fire starter log in stove, tv remote didn't work. (We didn't need these anyway). Back door in kitchen would not lock. I messaged about it and was told it would be fixed in the morning. I didn't sleep that night at all and placed the large buffet in front of door to ensure no human or wildlife interaction happened on my watch. Victim of former burglary and I think there is some PTSD from that. Issue was resolved next afternoon and I slept great the other two nights. Road work was being done on property while there. So that made it noisy early in the morning and until about 5:30 PM. But the workers were very kind and I understand work doesn't cease. I just hope owners take note to prioritize work to be done on slower seasons ;) Not leaf peeping time. We will return but stay in a different cabin that is more easily accessible. The price was affordable and we enjoyed our stay overall. Please keep this place quaint and rustic. These serene places in nature need to be preserved and respected in order to enjoy and respect them. Do not install WI-FI or make it something it isn't meant to be. A respite away and in nature is needed for us humans to escape and unwind. I hope the owners hear this and take into consideration what is truly needed for us as humans.

The location is great, not far from downtown Hendersonville. The cottages are well maintained and comfortable. We used the kitchen to cook and found that it sufficed for our needs. We really loved the screened in private porch with rocking chairs and a breakfast sized table with two chairs; it was perfect for enjoying the evenings and relaxing. The courtyard in the middle with grills and tables is so pretty and convenient. It seems like mostly Florida retirees come here, so it was quiet and laid back. Perfect for our needs. We would definitely return. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that the bed wasn't great, the mattress needs to be replaced as it bowed inward a bit. Other than that, though, we had no complaints and really enjoyed our time here.

1) May 2024, refrigerator cooling went out. Maintenance ordered parts. After a week of no…read morerefrigerator, we ordered & paid for parts and had refrigerator repaired. 2) June 2024, septic tank needed pumping, sewage was collecting in pump tank and spilling under outside deck. Maintenance had septic tank pumped that day but neglected septic lift pump area. After a week of waiting for maintenance to correct issue, spillage under deck, holding tank, & pit area... the septic lift pump had also gone bad. Finally, we paid to have all the spillage pumped and defective lift pump replaced. 3) June also, Meanwhile, hvac system is a split system. Upstairs was not cooling. Maintenance came out & ordered new damper motor for upstairs ac flow. Over a week now and no word, no parts, no schedule on when damper motor will be replaced. We had to purchase a couple of window ac units to cool the upstairs! And still no word on damper motor replacement yet.

Carolina Cottages is a horrid and unethical company to rent from. After having similar experiences…read moreas other reviews (check out the filtered reviews). We had to sue this company to get our lease deposit back. They showed up in small claims court with a lawyer and tried to put forth the argument that we didn't have a lease with them. Needless to say we won a judgement, but in their infinite wisdom, Carolina Cottages has chosen to appeal the judgement. So instead of doing the right thing, paying a client what is owed, they are choosing to pay an attorney to drag this thing out even further. Now I potentially need an attorney of my own to defend my judgement. So I probably sound like a frustrated ex tenant - you bet I am. This company "lost" our walk through information, would not negotiate or even consider accepting our pre-move in pictures as proof of existing damages, and had the audacity to blame it all on the owner who lives out of the country. Bottom line is that Carolina Cottages should be avoided at all costs. By the way - the first five star review for them is questionable - 5 stars from Lee. L?
