Our only issue was wasps, my girlfriend is allergic and there were 7 that we got rid of before the guy got there to vacuum the other live ones. The staff was very nice and I would definitely recommend this place if staying in the area. We looked at a couple other places and they were down right bland. We stayed here 4 nights since we were celebrating. Parking was easy and safe. The bed was comfortable and the cabin was very clean. The price was very reasonable and we were able to cook breakfast in the morning.

It was so nicely put together and the attention to details were definitely appreciated. The cabin came with everything you may need, while keeping it clean and organized. I loved the little touches like having puzzles and kid books in the loft. The touches of making it 'bird themed' were just enough, and didn't make you feel like you were in a Hitchcock movie. While this was a kid free weekend for us, we definitely could see it being perfect for a family as well. Everything was well maintained. Communication with the staff was fantastic and we were really able to unplug and unwind. If you do get antsy and want to go shopping or exploring, Lake Lure is just a short drive away. We would definitely stay here again.

I requested a reservation through their website about a certain property and Sharon was quick to respond, even after hours, to tell me it was unavailable. We e-mailed a couple more times and she was neither rude nor friendly, but more direct and short. When I had decided on another house to rent, I again requested a reservation through their website. After waiting 2 days to hear from them, I contacted them via phone. Sharon couldn't find my 2nd reservation request though I have a confirmation in my e-mail for it. She also couldn't find any correspondence we had had, but did say she remembered me. It was rocky making the reservation brand new because I didn't have a calendar in front of me, I had assumed she would be able to pull up the reservation. My initial reaction was "Oh shoot, I don't know them off the top of my head, is Friday the 5th?" and her response was "Well I will need to know. [the dates]." (Obviously.) I was doing my best without any help of a calendar. Once we hashed out the dates, she gave me a run down of the payment policies and asked me to give her the name on the card, which was my partners. She then asked me "How old are you?" Which threw me because I was ready to give her the card number instead. Don't tell my partner, but I'm not sure of her exact age without doing the math, so I stumbled in telling her and then thought to just tell her my own age, which I don't know either without doing the math and I was honest in telling her that. To me asking an age is like asking a weight, I don't know the answer to either without some thought and a little bit of math. We went back and forth about my age because it made her "uncomfortable" that I stuttered and stumbled and that I couldn't just spout out my age; she just wanted to know if I was over 25, to that I could have just said "Yes I am." Or she could have asked for my birthday and done the math herself. She treated me like a child, telling me on 3 different occasions I would need to bring my drivers license, to which I had to keep responding "I'm going to have to drive up there, so I will have it." Side note: their policy is if you aren't over 25 you can't rent and if when you arrive you are not of renting age, they won't let you in and they also won't refund you any money. I could think of a better way to spend $500 other than to give it away and get nothing in return, so why would I lie about my age? Despite her rude skeptical attitude I continued with the rental process because thankfully she wouldn't be rooming with us, so my dealings with her were about finished. I received the rental documents and realized she had put them in my partners name (who is also over 25) and to help clear the air and make sure there was no more rude skepticism when we arrived (because that would start our vacation off even more poorly than the reservation process had) I e-mailed her explaining that she would find the age I gave her on the phone was incorrect because it was my age and not my partners, but that I would make sure we both had our drivers license on us and even gave her both our birthdays to ease her "uncomfortableness" about my hesitation on the phone. This is her response: "Yes, I was skeptical because of the things you said. First, you should have told me you were not Candace. That in itself is off putting to me. Then when you were not sure of your own age, and stumbled when I asked you, that was even more than off putting. I have learned through many years of experience in this business that when a prospective tenant is not respectful of our policies, they are also quite often not respectful of our properties during their tenancy. I hope that you will prove me wrong." I originally corresponded with Sharon from my personal e-mail which comes through with my first and last name, and introduced myself when she picked up the phone as myself, so my using a credit card with a different name was plainly obvious had she been listening when I said who I was. Her whole e-mail was made to make me feel like a child "First, you should have..." and to be passive in telling me I'm disrespecting her policies (when I hadn't) and basically calling me a hoodlum who's going to destroy her property is outrageous and poor business. We've rented houses for many years and leave each one cleaner than when we found it, we are overly respectful of people and their belongings. I own a small business which involves visiting people's homes, their safe personal place and my partner runs a law firm. We are respectful, laid back, low key people who wanted to BBQ in the great outdoors and have a quiet swell time. I don't need to prove anyone wrong during my vacation.

There's plenty of sleeping room with 2 king sized beds, one in each unit and 2 couches, one in each unit. The king beds are so comfy and we slept good. The down stairs B unit was like a cute little apartment. There's a jacuzzi that I regret not using but you need to close both blinds on either side when taking a bath. The shower is big with a door. There's a washer and dryer in both units. There's a big enough kitchen and sitting space in both units. The only problem we incurred on day 1 and 2 was a broken air conditioner. However, maintenance was out asap and fixed it both times with a quickness. The maintenance staff seemed very nice and helpful. The second day we were there we went and enjoyed the wellness center pool and saunas which is very clean and there's putt-putt and other games outside. We were told that one of the beaches/lake sides was open but we never found it. If you are looking for other things to do on your stay, chimney rock is nearby. Asheville is almost an hour away and black mountain is about the same. You'll have a good time and have plenty of choices for food and fun if you go to either.

Just got home from a week at Dancing Waters…read more The first thing I want to say is the images on the website don't to justice to the property. This place is absolutely beautiful!!! 3 bedrooms on the main floor (one king, one queen and two twins), two full baths and a living room / common area with balcony. There is a master suite above this living room / common area with a queen bed, full bath and balcony. The lower level is the kitchen with laundry area, table for 6 and common area. Outside are several decks to choose from including a nice one on top of the boat house. There's also two kayaks, one sit on and one sit in. This property is right across from the dam and this cove is a great place for some kayaking. We (5 friends) had a great week here and Debbie was wonderful to work with and we're already planning a return visit.

I'm not even sure where to begin. We stayed at Lure ME 8/26 - 9/3/21 and paid a lot of money…read more(nearly $4000). This was not our first choice of rentals, but since our reserved property was sold, this was the recommendation (and also $1000 more expensive). Do NOT stay here if you can avoid it for the money. The pictures on the website are old and deceiving. We were not expecting luxury, but for that price, we did have some expectations. The house is dated. That could have been overlooked had it been a little cleaner and cared for. The kitchen is a disaster. The dishwasher door just drops to the floor when you open it and might be from the '80s. The fridge does not have an ice-maker (something you would expect for the price), is dented and one of the door shelves is held together BY TAPE!!! Again, not looking for luxury, but you do have some expectations at that price. The view is great. At least what you can see of it. The pictures offered are a bit outdated - the trees are in desperate need of trimming. When you book a house on the lake with a view, you don't expect to spend that much time indoors, and we didn't. Which brings me to the screened-in porch. OMG, disgusting is the first word to come to mind. The furniture is beyond repair and filthy, not to mention and huge liability. When I mentioned it to Melissa (owner of Exclusive Mountain Properties), I was told that furniture was "a family heirloom" and "nostalgic." Ummm, in what century?? Imagine your parents patio furniture. Then your grandparents and that is what you will get. Rusted and broken metal junk. A genuine safety hazard. And the cushions were in deplorable condition. We were told it was water stains from the rain. If that's the outcome of rain in Lake Lure, NC, I'd rather never visit again. In no possible way were those stains from rain. Human body fluids (pee, dirty diapers come to mind)...you get the point. We spent our first full day there talking to and waiting on maintenance (the hot tub also didn't work but that's another paragraph) only to drive 30 or so minutes to WalMart to buy cleaning supplies and chairs to even be able to enjoy the screened porch and boat house (again, another paragraph). Yes, we spent the first full day of vacation shopping for cleaning supplies and chairs and cleaning. And guess what?? We got a two day refund because the items in the boat house were not properly put away. I'm tired of typing...I think I made my point. If you want to stay at Lure ME, buyer beware, there is no way on earth this is their most sought-after and requested property. I gave you a taste of what to expect for your hard earned and well-deserved vacation. Pictures to follow in case you don't believe the descriptions.
