Upon arrival, the owners offered to help back in my camper as it was my second time doing so. They offered to help me set up anything I needed help with. They were always friendly, and answered any of my questions without hesitation. This RV park definitely has a homey feel to it. I enjoyed the people around me as well, as all were very nice. They are also very pet friendly, as they LOVED my dog and cat. They were spoiled with love there. One time they brought someone to play live music, and grilled food for everyone at the campsite. Their laundry facilities and bathrooms are always super clean, and all is very spacious. When I was leaving, they also helped me to make sure I was hooked up properly. I am glad I came here for my first RV living experience, and now every other RV park I stay in will have to live up to these expectations. They also had amazing cell and wifi service which was a big plus, being away from home.

Bathroom is clean. The sites are large enough to spread out a little and pop-up a canopy tent and unpack a few chairs. Local gas station and convenience store is only about a mile a away. Larger food store is about 7 miles. Lake Lure is only 10 minutes away. Several state parks, equine center, restaurants, and vinyards/breweries are an easy drive too. Overall, we had a great time and as always we met some nice people at the site too.

We prefer the river sites personally for the views & fishing. The campground owners are fantastic people who've become friends. They live on site and take great pride in the property. The property is always impeccable. They are always working. Such a gorgeous place!! The pond is in the center of the property - yes you can fish (catch & release). Areas setup with hammocks, corn hole, seating, etc. The new playground has been a big hit! Oh, and there's also a dog park area. The bathhouses are super clean and have air conditioning. The laundry room is brand new with great units and also A/C. They incorporated additional activities this year over at the pavilion which our family has loved! Bingo, tie-dye t-shirts, food trucks, live music, and more! Our grandson loves to join us. Lots of kids and a great area for them to all play. Tubing the river is always a fun treat! You can bring your own tubes or rent from the campground. The camp store has expanded and features a great mix of items - t-shirts, hats, hoodies, koozies, and more. As well as local jams, rubs, and other treats. They're in the process of building a new office/camp store so we're excited to see this complete. We have a 40' fifth wheel. No problems every getting in. They accommodate all size rigs. All sites have a concrete pad, fire pit and very nice large picnic table. Sites are spacious and do not feel cramped like we've experienced at other campgrounds. Wi-Fi is generally pretty good. We've been able to work remote on some of our trips. We even had phone service our last trip (AT&T)! Lots to do in the area! Hiking, Linville Winery (yum!), Linville Caverns, Grandfather Mtn and so many other great places. The office staff can certainly provide plenty of recommendations, too. There are 2 grocery stores in town about 15min away. There's also a local dollar store about 5min away. We cannot say enough good things about MRFC. We've met some great campers there who we now call friends. We truly love this place and already have bookings for next year!

What a nice surprise! We planned a weekend at Mountain stream to finish a 10-day camping tour…read morethrough the region - started in GA, then in TN, finishing in NC... Stumbled on this park because it was located near the Blue Ridge Pkwy and some of the mountain ranges and waterfalls we wanted to explore. We arrived at Mountain Stream on a Thursday afternoon, and Gena was able to check us in quickly and gave us some great advice to getting our 40' long Toy Hauler fifth wheel into lot #3. (Pro-tip: when the owner gives you advice to get into a spot with a large RV, take it... She was spot on with the recommendation.) When we made the reservation several months ago, lot #3 was identified as creek front with no deck, but they recently built a new deck on the creek so that was an added bonus. We were able to set up with both our RV back patio and the spot's RV deck for what was described as a "double decker" by Kevin (also the owner of the RV park). It worked out great for us to be able to sit over the creek on our patio and to use the deck with picnic table for some of our meals. Nice quiet park, with a clean and well kept appearance. They really are putting a ton of work into making it a nice experience for their guest. The shower house bathrooms were clean. It's clear that they are continuing to improve on the park- adding 4 yurts which look like they'll be ready for occupancy soon, as well as a couple of "Imagine" travel trailers for rent. The social pavilion looks pretty recently built, with a large TV w/satellite service (Kevin mentioned the area is packed in football season), a nice fireplace, and plenty of tables. The dog play area is well fenced off and clean, and a good spot for the doggos to do their business. On Saturday, they host a BBQ social- Kevin starts preparing his special pulled pork butt on Thursday so by Saturday night it is so tender. Some of the best pulled pork we have ever experienced. Ever. Like, championship quality pulled pork. Bring your own sides to share with the other guests of the park and make some new friends! A couple of side notes: 1. The road coming up to Mountain Stream is a narrow switch-back type of road... Take your time, it gets treacherous with a large rig, and there are oncoming logging trucks that travel faster than they should 2. We use Verizon cell phones; Verizon has NO cell service within the park so if you need phone service you might want to prepare for people to communicate with you in other means. 3. The internet is pretty limited- the free wifi has enough to send/receive emails, Facebook scrolling (slow) and Facebook Messaging... There is a paid "upgrade" option available, but it's still pretty slow- not enough to stream video or do intensive uploads/downloads. We'll definitely be back!

We spent 2 nights here and loved our site, the deck over the rushing stream was a perfect place to sip coffee in the mornings and whiskey in the evenings. The dog park gave our pup the chance to run free, the clean bathhouses gave us a place to freshen up and the location gave us the ability to explore all Asheville had to offer, climb to the top of Mount Mitchell (the highest point East of the Mississippi) and just enjoy the surroundings. Our site had a full hook up, electric and water (even with temps in the low 20's at night), we had a fire ring (or square), a picnic table perched on the deck, cantilevered over the stream, and lovely (back-in) site with privacy and shade. We can't wait to come back.

He also dates his staff, his former Manager Bonnie what great she cared and was always available for us 24/7 and lived onsite and when he was done with her, he fired and evicted her, she was a single mom with no place to go so she lost her housing and her job. The new manger was never available, she, and relied on the some of the resident to do her job after hours and at the same time they were allowed to break the rules and when you complained about them, she ignored it. prices went up and the residents suffered. There are no amenities for the price you pay, he doesn't give any discounts especially to Veterans, they make you pay to have a DNA test of your dog's poop if your long term. They say they are a 45 and up adults only, and they are not. The owner has party's and the people going to the party race through the parking campground along with the golf carts that do not follow the speed limit. And heaven forbid if you are a good resident who pay their site fee on time and follow the rules but have a few friends over then he evicts you, he picks and chooses who you are allowed to have visit you onsite and at your camper, has even made threats to good resident he would evict if they have them onsite again. This time our rig was tail light and due to the slight incline of the site made for rain water to flow we had a hard time leveling the front so I went back to the office to request a different site and explained that the reason was our rig and not the site itself to which the owners obliged with a smile, not only that but he offered me his wooden blocks that in the end were the perfect solution. There is an stigma about permanent people but we found that us being friendly, waving and smiling to all they all are friendly and respond well, on the contrary the only indifferent person was a temporary young lady that when greeted twice looked the other way but you can't expect everyone to be in a good mood all the time. Quiet place, close to Forest City where we went to church on Sunday and also very close to Lake Lure to check the touristy attractions that lure ( pun intended ) people in.
