This time our rig was tail light and due to the slight incline of the site made for rain water to flow we had a hard time leveling the front so I went back to the office to request a different site and explained that the reason was our rig and not the site itself to which the owners obliged with a smile, not only that but he offered me his wooden blocks that in the end were the perfect solution. There is an stigma about permanent people but we found that us being friendly, waving and smiling to all they all are friendly and respond well, on the contrary the only indifferent person was a temporary young lady that when greeted twice looked the other way but you can't expect everyone to be in a good mood all the time. Quiet place, close to Forest City where we went to church on Sunday and also very close to Lake Lure to check the touristy attractions that lure ( pun intended ) people in. Don't know about bathhouse because we never use since our rig is self contained Will comeback to vacay and explore the region

The RV sites are gravel but have a concrete pad with a picnic table and sitting area. We came at the end of July and thought the bugs would be bad being right here on the water, but that was not the case. I only gave 4 stars because the owners could be a bit more friendly, and the camp store and facilities are a bit run down. Otherwise, a nice place to stay.

Booking…read morewas easy online, the campsite staff was easy to reach and communicate with, the facilities were clean and overall the park was such a fun place. We brought our two senior Shibas, who aren't really into dog parks or other dogs, and they were able to have the entire parks to themselves for at least an hour each day we went. They had so much fun, and being able to pick up some dog treats on the way home from our park adventure was a nice touch. The staff here do an amazing job keeping the campgrounds clean, maintained, and filled with fun activities for dogs and people. Having a fenced in site was great, and our dogs felt right at home. The RV is stocked with almost everything you'll need for a few days, just bring food, towels and personal hygiene stuff and you're set. There's also washers/dryers/general store if you forget anything. Overall we had such a fun time just hanging out, spending quality time with our dogs. There were a ton of social events going on - bonfires, happy hr, etc but we're antisocial so we watched from afar. Looked fun though! We will definitely be back next summer! *My only suggestion would be to include an EV charging station, we were able to trickle charge our vehicle with no issues but having a paid EV charging site/parking spot would be an awesome addition to help generate revenue and attract more road trippers and you can charge while you're at the dog parks. I understand it's mostly a RV destination, but being able to charge our vehicle while we rented the RV was really convenient especially because the nearest supercharger is 45 min away.

The experience was top notch not just for our pup but for us as well! We were in one of the fully-fenced in camp sites, which was wonderful for our Chuckie who is too "busy" to be confined to a tether! 15 minute drive to the grocery store and about 20 minutes to a wonderful local winery, Mountain Brook Vineyards which was dog-friendly as well! We'll definitely be traveling back to Four Paws next year!

The trail head has ample parking and is well marked (directly across from Ingles). Before my jog I was taking in the well labeled and color coded map showing the multitude of trails, their difficulty levels and distances. As I was about to start my jog another jogger came off the trail. I asked about their route and they told me a similar route I was considering but mentioned they made a wrong turn and ended up on the nearby vacant golf course. Fast forward about 10 minutes and I find myself on said golf course. With that being said, the trails are gorgeous and vary in difficulty (heed caution on the Roller Coaster Trail - properly named). Nothing beats hitting the tree line and enjoying nature, in my opinion. There are about 3.3 total miles of trails and obviously that can be extended based on the trail layout. The Mountain View Trail was my favorite because there is a slight clearing and bench at the end where you can sit and enjoy the view. The Roller Coaster Trail was a beast with strenuous ups and downs. Trails were decently marked but there are some intersections that are a little confusing. There are a couple of trails that spur off the main trails that are private or not part of the main trail system making it a little confusing. About 1/2 of a mile (est) into the Mountain View Trail is a well groomed trail that forks to the left. That trail takes you to the gold course and is easily confused for the main trail. Enjoyable trail and area overall and I would definitely recommend and return.

Upon arrival, the owners offered to help back in my camper as it was my second time doing so. They offered to help me set up anything I needed help with. They were always friendly, and answered any of my questions without hesitation. This RV park definitely has a homey feel to it. I enjoyed the people around me as well, as all were very nice. They are also very pet friendly, as they LOVED my dog and cat. They were spoiled with love there. One time they brought someone to play live music, and grilled food for everyone at the campsite. Their laundry facilities and bathrooms are always super clean, and all is very spacious. When I was leaving, they also helped me to make sure I was hooked up properly. I am glad I came here for my first RV living experience, and now every other RV park I stay in will have to live up to these expectations. They also had amazing cell and wifi service which was a big plus, being away from home.

Overall, we had a great time and as always we met some nice people at the site too.
