Very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The screened-in porch was well kept and furnished enough for us to eat meals outside. Convenient to Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. Again - very clean, well kept and a perfect spot. We will definitely rent again.

Initially, we were trying to get into Davidson River campground, but of course the reservations were all booked and we couldn't find a spot. Instead, we looked in the area online and found this place, and I'm glad we did. The location is convenient to all of Brevard and the Pisgah forest, a quick 5 minute drive from anywhere in town. We stayed on site 6, which was in the far corner and it was awesome. There was a grassy area right behind which the kids played on and enjoyed, and there were really thoughtful amenities throughout the campground including a bike maintenance station, a welcome center with complimentary goodies, a nice dog park and community firepit and garden. I think all the sites are full hookup, which was a nice convenience compared to the other option. We also had super strong WiFi in the camper. I was able to work and have video calls with not a single issue. It was the best Wifi we have ever had at a campground. When we arrived, the site host stopped by to say hi and introduce herself. We also had some small maintenance to do on our camper, which she made sure she gave us all the information for service centers in the area, and offered to see if they had any tools we may be missing. This is certainly a super thoughtful and amazing place, surely worth a stop next time you're wanting to visit Brevard!

Lying in bed watching the lightning through the skylight and hearing the rain on the canvas will always be a favorite memory for us! Truly not what I expected, in the best way possible…read more We stayed in the Raccoon Loft through LivingSocial, which has a lofted "bedroom" upstairs over a living room, kitchen, dining room, bathroom, and another bedroom with a door. There were raccoons everywhere! From the lamp, to the salt and pepper holder, to every figurine, to the beanie baby hanging off the curtain rod... there was no mistake where we were! We had a great porch with a grill, and then next to the cabin was an outside area with chairs and a fire pit. Oh, and our cabin had the BEST MOVIE COLLECTION EVER. If you don't agree with me, there is also directv. As comfortable as our loft was, I could not get over the nature trails. We stumbled upon one after finding the tree house, and couldn't stop searching. So much thought throughout the whole area, I loved it. I commented immediately on our arrival how I thought someone had sprinkled the whole area in silver confetti (I believe thanks to the micah), but honestly, I would not put it past the owners to have sprinkled it themselves. So you can pan for gold in the "river", hang out on groovy way, play checkers in a hen house (beware the fox!), and oh, so much more. I think my favorite may have been the tree of prehistoric creatures... not to ruin too many surprises. it was a little odd being the only ones on property during the offseason, but during its peak times I could see some great times for kids as they make new friends in the common areas, playing horseshoes or checkers. Seriously, so awesome, I definitely could have stayed much longer! And I can't wait to return! Cell/internet was definitely spotty, so if you're looking for that type of seclusion, you can get it here!

They offered hot showers, the ability to charge devices, potable water, meals and the only consistent Internet access during this devastating weather event. They were and are a testament to the community spirit that helps all of us to get through tough times. I will say that when you come to stay at Orchard Lake Campground, you will be surprised by the amenities, from the "general store" to the common room to the game room and facilities. Everything is clean, well stocked, and well appointed. Also: the friendliest staff I've ever encountered.

Turns out in the high months like summer you definitely need to make reservations. Lucky for us. Somebody paid for an extra night, but drove away. The Rangers are some of the nicest I've ever met in my life. They let us have the site for free and we're friendly the entire time we were there. The space was kept incredibly clean for the amount of people that were there. And when I say amount of people that were there, I mean so many people there. This is not my jam, and I probably wouldn't return to the campground just because of the sheer velocity of other people all around us. Jampacked. I'm pretty sure at any given time you could see 10 to 15 people from your site alone. The sites did have plenty of space for a 10 and a car or multiple cars. They also had a nice set up for bath houses too. They were clean and well stocked and plentiful. We were so lucky to have a guy playing a banjo across from us and we had a nice campfire with banjo playing nearby. Bought wood from the gas station but it ended up being wet so maybe even more expensive $10 wood from this campground would've been smarter . You can walk to an amazing spot to view stars and it's a very short hike to the river. Love the nature nearby as an allowed us to get away from people want to be in the moment. Seems like people are fishing nearby.

Pretty easy, just need to know which site you want. The cost of each spot varies some. The people who greeted us at the entrance to give us our passes and let us in were very nice! FACILITIES: We stayed at camp spot #9, which had access to two outlets (which we didn't use), a picnic table, a fire pit. We were close to a communal a water spigot, bathrooms with flushing toilets and showers which had running water and were reasonably clean. My friends and I are used to backpacking, so this place felt like glamping! The only downsides are that you are required to pitch your tent on gravel (rather than grass) and that you can't wash pots in the bathrooms or with the water spigot because it's not connected to sewage lines.

There is an stigma about permanent people but we found that us being friendly, waving and smiling to all they all are friendly and respond well, on the contrary the only indifferent person was a temporary young lady that when greeted twice looked the other way but you can't expect everyone to be in a good mood all the time.
