Oh dear. Ok so I was super excited when this place opened up as I'm a sucker for a great veal…read moresandwich. I had visions of California Sandwiches (now open in Scarborough near Warden and Lawrence I think) or Uno Mustachio's in the St. Lawrence Market. Lots of meat, fried eggplant, lots of toppings available (and generous amounts), great bun...sadly not the case here. We ordered 2 Veal Sandwiches, a Sausage Sandwich, one of the Rice Balls, and a slice of Pizza. The Veal Sandwich had one piece of veal on it that had been sitting in sauce for quite some time (read soggy). I added toppings of onion and mushrooms...and literally got 4 pieces of onion and 4 mushrooms at $0.50 for each topping type. The bread wasn't great, and the veal got lost in the bun. The sausage on the sausage sandwich was dry and I'm guessing had been sitting in the warming tray all day. If it was fresh cooked for you it would have been good, but was dry and not great. The Italian bun it was on wasn't good either. Fell apart as soon as you picked it up. Pizza was not good. Rice Ball was nothing special but was not terrible. To be fair we just sampled from the "hot bar" section. They also had cheeses and cold cuts so maybe those sandwiches are better. But for me this was overall pretty disappointing. Maybe my expectations were too high, but I'll make the drive to California Sandwiches or Uno Mustachio's to get my sandwich fix if needed (the owners might want to go there also to see what their competition is). On the plus side...the staff were nice and the place was clean, just not great given what we ordered.

Honest to God I contemplated throwing this up so I can eat something half decent. A disgrace to claim they make Italian sandwiches!

Mark's Pizza is a small pizza place at a rather obscure intersection in an unassuming plaza. Don't…read morebe fooled by the simple location and the charming, home-drawn logo: the pizzas are unique, with the most flavorful tomato sauce and mozzarella, delightful pepperoni and an assortment of artisan quality toppings. Mark's turns out some of the most flavorful pizzas in Pickering and East Scarborough, and I've tried a lot of pizza! Each week, they have a different feature pizza, and the full size pizzas are similar to a New York style, with the thin, crisp bottom crust surrounded by a heftier, lightly charred edge crust. Full pizzas are ordered in advance on line, but they have Italian sandwiches and pizza slices to go (subject to availability). The slices have a thicker crust than the full pizzas, and look delicious. There is limited seating for eating in, and Mark's mainly does a take-out business. I went on line earlier today, and ordered a 6:00 pick-up. The online order system is efficient and user-friendly. We had a pepperoni pizza as well as this week's special, a meatball and pesto pizza. Both were excellent, and the tomato sauce really stood out. It was garlicy, herbaceous and delightfully savory; quite different from the bland, sweet tomato sauce served up by most of the large chains. The crust was flavorful, and lightly charred to perfection, giving it a slightly smoky flavor. As a crust snob, I was very pleased! The meatball and pesto pizza was really good, with flavorful, juicy mini-meatballs and delightfully garlic-forward pesto. The pesto, made from pumpkin seeds rather than the traditional pine nuts, was so good with bold garlic and basil flavours. The pepperoni pizza was superb, with the cup-and-char, New York style pepperoni. My whole family was delighted!! In short, the pizzas are remarkably flavourful, and their preparation shows time, care, and attention to quality ingredients, as well as a superior crust. It was worth the drive from Pickering, and with the efficiency of Hwy. 2, took only about 15 minutes. Parking is a bit tight, but there is frequent turnover of parking spots. Thanks to Chloe H. at the counter for friendly service with helpful recommendations for me to consider for future orders. And there will certainly be future orders from me!

We grabbed a box of assorted slices just to sample as much as possible, and I genuinely couldn't pick a favorite. Every single slice was excellent, proving the quality is totally consistent. You can actually taste the quality ingredients. The experience was great overall, too. The team working there was friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference. Must-Try Tip: Get their Calabrian chili and mix it right into the house ranch. It's an unbelievable combination. Just be careful; the heat sneaks up on you quickly! This place is officially going into our regular order list. Seriously, we think this is the best pizza in Scarborough.

The place has lots of seating and is very accommodating for families--plenty of space and high chairs available for babies. I ordered the chicken shawarma hash, which was very filling. The flavours were a bit mild, but honestly nothing a little hot sauce, salt, and pepper couldn't fix. It still hit the spot and kept me full for hours. We also tried the crepes with sausage, eggs, and bacon. The portion was huge--so filling that we ended up taking most of it home. Overall, it's a solid spot if you're looking for a hearty breakfast, good value, and quick service without any fuss.

Between the noise with no music and food court-like decor, I wish for a brunch spot they set more of an enjoyable vibe. It is very much a fast food type atmosphere in there. In terms of the food, I ordered the banana strawberry with Nutella French toast and my mom got the bacon eggs Benedict. I quite enjoyed my French toast.. it was a decent portion and hit that sweet spot. It did get overly sweet after a while though so I ended up taking leftovers home. My mom had no complaints about the eggs benny itself, but the fruit that they say the dish comes with is just sadddd. Seems their norm is to serve the fruit in those small takeout sauce containers, which only fits a few measly chopped up fruits (not even the good fruits either...). It looked like scraps to me. For a brunch spot they need to be more generous with fruit, esp when they call it out on the menu "served with fresh fruit", which my mom was looking forward to but ended up being disappointed by the portion. They were obviously very busy for Mother's Day, and I did appreciate that they have the online waitlist that you can join and monitor live remotely from your phone. Their service was fairly slow but they did acknowledge it. Overall, I think i'd try a different brunch spot next time. Personally I love brunch places because of how cute and fun the atmosphere and dishes can be. The food in general was pretty standard, so not enough to make me return for a spot with no vibes. Their prices are reasonable though, so I think this place is just more of a no-frills brunch spot.
