a tray of food

Far too expensive for the quality and quantity of food. I had the goat curry lunch portion small for $15 and change. The curry goat lacked the seasoning one would expect. I had the rice and peas and they didn't have plantains so I had to get Mac n cheese. Very standard sides nothing special. The service is not great, the lady there is very rude and not pleasant. I normally wouldn't order from here but I was in area with limited options. Good luck.

Amazing food. Feels like home. Don't let lady fool you, she is tough , but she will serve you up the best jerk chicken , rice with peas and cabbage. They have all the Jamaican drinks. They also have beef patties with coco bread.

The flavor of the food is really good. The portion size however may have you in your feelings. All that scrumptiousness is in limited supply and maybe it's my greedy @ss but I needed another spoonful to be content. I'd recommend ordering ahead for pickup or dine in. They do offer $6 lunch specials like stewed chicken, jerk chicken or curry chicken to name a few. On my visit, I ordered curried goat. Again, the seasoning and flavor was just right and even without the spicy pepper sauce I normally add it hit the spot. Although I stated my portion for a small seemed paltry, you may be content. BTW, they only offer a simple hot sauce on the table not my favorite (Matouk's). I am anxious to sample some of the other fare they offer and hope that the portion is appropriate for the price point. Small tables for dining in, a TV is available while you're waiting and an assortment of beverages to boot.

I was recommended here by my boss. Very delicious Jamaican food. I had the oxtails and rice with Mac n cheese. The meal was nice and hot and ready for me. I took my meal home and devoured it. Can't wait for me

Today was not their day I suppose! We went around 1130ish (lunch time) and it was a fair crowd in there. My coworker and I waited about 10 min before they said anything to us! (No Hello or we'll be right with you or one moment). The lady finally came to the counter and acted as if I dragged her out of bed to come to work!!! But that's neither here nor there! I order my expensive food thinking that I'm about to indulge into greatness! Oh boy did they trick me! When I got my food, I was looking at it like where's the rest of it! After taking a few bites, it hit me that THEY WERE STINGY WITH THE SEASONING!!! (It was like they put a pinch of seasoning in the food) $15 for some food that barely did the job! They're very stingy compared to ALL the other Jamaican spots I've been to! I will give them a second chance but that's it if this happens again!!!

Food wasn't bad. it's not authentic but it's okay for me. The only issue is the lady serving was really disrespectful.

Food is great. Been going for years. Make sure you call ahead if you're in a hurry. This is not fast food.

Small restaurant with polite and courteous staff. Music really nailed the vibe. Clean bathrooms for those who care! It's not the best if you have more than say 3 people, so pick a less busy time or carry out if you're strapped for time. I'll definitely be going back!

Bear with me here; maybe this goes out into the abyss but I'm still gonna say it…read more Years & years ago I was wandering around the area & came upon Island Krave. It was brand new & the woman tending the store was friendly, energetic & passionate about the food she was serving. I ordered jerk chicken but she insisted on letting me have a taste of everything on the menu. Everything was delicious & I now had a new obsession- the sweet coco bread. For years after that whenever I was around I would pop in. I've since moved to GA and been living here for almost ten years. Any transplant will tell you sometimes only family & food keep you tethered to your home state. So happens this wknd I was in town for my sisters wedding & got my hair done a couple blocks away from Island Krave. As she finished up I placed an order on Uber eats, really excited for this meal- something familiar & missed. To see how the quality & care has declined truly hurts my heart. The portion of meat they served me was actually disrespectful to people who work hard for their money & choose to support a small business. These pictures are after they added some. If you're going to chop it to smitherens you need to measure it out to ensure the portions make sense. Anyone that cooks can tell you this is a thigh at best. & this is a $17 plate. I don't want to talk down on the place too much it's just sad how much of a let down the entire meal was after I felt like they threw my stuff together thinking it was being delivered and they wouldn't have to look me in the face. The Mac was good & the flavor of the chicken was as well. Cabbage mushy & salty. Rice is not yellow. & apparently $5 gets you one slice of coco bread now (I got two bc of my troubles, ha!) Idk I hope they can figure it out but personally I would never spend another dollar in this place.

I think that this place could be so much better, if they may be hired better cooks. I'm not sure if…read moreone of the owners is a cook or it's a family owned business, but one thing I've learned family is not gonna take your business as serious as you would. The last time I went there, I ordered the goat stew, almost 40 minutes before I arrive. Once I got there, they said oh we're out of goat, they asked if I wanted beef, no one called me no one communicated. I was very shocked that they had someone that supposedly is supposed to be at the front at the register. A Caucasian lady, but the whole time I was there she was in the back, talking, laughing joking. When she told me they had no goat and if I wanted beef, I said sure, but why no one never called me, no one never communicated to me that you guys were out of goat and she just stood there and looked at me crazy she didn't say oh my gosh I'm so sorry you know I'll see if I can talk to my manager to see what we can do for the inconvenience. I didn't drive, I was in a Uber. So with Uber you only have a time limit at each stop, but thankfully the Uber driver was so nice and pleasant and I explained the situation and they didn't leave me. And I had autistic individual with me as well, so that could've been very bad. I know she just looked at me crazy because she was supposed to call and reach out and let me know something. So the whole time I'm there. I'm waiting for her to you know come talk to me or something. She's in the back just laughing and joking and you know just back there not upfront. As people were coming in, she'll come poke her head out and then go back in the back. I'm like what are you here for you not to cook so. I've been to Yendidi so many times, every time I've went there's always somebody at the front whether it's a guy or a woman. I've never seen a person that's supposed to be in the front, in the kitchen the whole time as if they're cooking. When I got my food. the beef was actually goo, they only gave me three pieces of beef two medium size pieces and a small piece which I was upset about. They could've gave me like more especially I be had I had to wait. Nobody called me or anything. The pounded yam, which I was so shocked that you have to pay for separately now it's not something that you can request as a side with your meal like how you used to be able to, on DoorDash that's how it is. The pounded yam was very soggy. My only issue with this location, is they just don't seem like they really care to put effortin, Idk if they lost their spark or care to deliver great food. I think that they give mediocre because they're not really interested in sharing their culture with Americans, it feels like they give us very poor quality food because they know half of us don't know the difference. But that's a bad look because individuals who are from their culture that come and look for authentic food come and eat. I've seen reviews were they review saying how they're not making authentic food, and selling old food. So it's very unfortunate. The places that I used to get very good African food from are no longer open, which is unfortunate. Covid took them out of business or they relocated to another state, and they were really really good and consistent very pleasant. So Yen need to work on, customer service. They need to work on quality, because all it takes is for someone to open up a restaurant, serve the same food. & They really have a heart and love for cooking and seeing people enjoy wonderful food with pleasant customer service and very consistent food Quality, only takes for one business like that, to come to close a lot of places down.

Food was delicious. Service was prompt and waitress was kind and attentive. I will definitely be…read morereturning.
