This review is for removal of all existing roll-down shutters and installation of hurricane windows. Firstly, this firm serviced my shutters for several years, expeditiously and professionally before I had them replaced. My only dissatisfaction was with the person who answered the phone for appointments. I had 7 hurricane windows installed in my almost 40-year-old condo. Everything from the estimate, to the product quality, to the installation was top quality. I have no hesitation in recommending this firm! Where these 1-star ratings come from is a mystery to me. I did recommend until you need service. With just over a year of having the shutters installed. We started having trouble with them not working properly. They get stuck and stop. We are on the fifth floor of a condo building and need service on those shutters which require a Bolson chair. This started back in February and still have not been serviced as of today. Larry, who is responsible for this part of service completely ignores your phone calls, texts, and emails. I have called the office and have complained numerous times and it doesn't change anything and I have never gotten a callback from the manager who I requested to give me a call. Hurricane season is getting close and we still have numerous shutters that are still not working. Larry is the sales person that you deal with when purchasing the shutters but then when you need service, don't expect any response from him, at least in a timely manner. Plus you will have to call, text and email numerous times and complain over a period of time before you potentially get a response. I regret using this company because now I have to worry about all service in the future. If we were in the middle of hurricane season and need service, I now will be concerned that he doesn't respond and it taking months for service. Remember that before getting shutters installed by this company. We are 4 months into not having these shutters fixed. Very disappointed in this company. read more

In the spring, we had Impact Resistant Windows installed by High Wind Shutters. We are extremely pleased with the results. The windows give us energy efficiency, storm protection as well as improving the appearance of our home. High Wind Shutters made the entire process easy. They provided an excellent experience from the setting of the consultation appointment through the installation. The sales consultant, Matt Thibodeau, was professional and knowledgeable offering helpful suggestions. The office staff was friendly and responsive to our questions. The installation team of Earl and Aiden were extremely hard working and did a wonderful job. We were impressed with their clean up efforts at the end of each work day. Great workmanship. Ordered shutters in April and they were installed first week in September, just in time for two major hurricanes.

The quality is bad and broken; it was only used three times. It is still under warranty, but they will charge for repair because I'm a second-home owner. I paid for the shutter when I bought the house. is it reasonable?!! read more

Service Requested: Hurricane screen. I was originally told it would be installed in 3 months. Called at 3 months, then I was told 4 months. Installation date of 11/27 (4 months) came. I called 3 times on 11/27 to verify they were still coming. Receptionist blatantly lied each time that they were still coming until 3 pm on 11/27, when she finally admitted they weren't coming. Now they are coming tomorrow supposedly. This situation will undoubtedly end in litigation to recover the money they have held for 4 months plus interest. Save yourself some grief. If you are looking for a reputable company that doesn't keep your money for 4 months, then not show up, find a better company. I do not trust anything they say at this point and I suspect their work is as shoddy as their customer service. Companies like this should be shut down. read more

Salesman Matt Thibodeau is untrustworthy and a liar. On multiple days we were promised verbally by him to present a bid for new windows, roll down electric shutter and failed, at each promised time, to produce the bid. Multiple excuses were made with a reassurance that we would get the quote tomorrow. This started at the beginning of May (2023). Well tomorrow in Matt's world of promises never comes. Buyer beware!!! If this is they're way of doing business I will advise to deal with a different vendor. The sales staff is the first sign of a company's reputation and lying ends om business. Maybe they pay salesmen to totally neglect promises to customers, or the salesman wants to destroy the company's previous "5 Star ratings". My neighbors and friends will not be dealing with "High Winds Shutters" as I will discourage their company by word of mouth. Thank you for this platform. Ordered both shutters and impact windows. Shutters installed within 3 months, windows finally arrived at 10.5 months. Were installed today, inspection setup for 6/29 and we should be all done. Timing for windows much longer than expected but we have them now before hurricane season kicked in. Before ordering we met with 7 different firms for quotes and HWS blew the others away read more
