September 2021 Cape Coral , Florida…read more I moved to Hurricane country ( Florida ) last year and purchased a single family home ... 3 Bedrooms ... 2 Baths etc The thought occurred to me that I would need to secure my new home against hurricane force winds should One occur while I'm in residence. Most Floridians have metal shutters that they place over their windows when a hurricane is expected. That requires running around like a chicken with it's head cut off while placing the shutters over every window in the home. All this , sometimes under stormy weather conditions. That thought ( running around like a chicken ) did not appeal to me. So, I contacted Storm Solutions and arranged to have a price quoted for a complete set of Hurricane resistant impact Windows installed on my home. A price was agreed upon which also included a new side door to the garage AND an Accordion Shutter to protect my Lanai. Lucas and Jesus were in charge of installing the windows while Blake installed the Accordion Shutters on my Lanai. All of the work was performed in a professional manner with great attention to detail. The actual Instal required about 4 days. There was a 2 month wait however for the custom windows to be constructed. After the Instal a 2 man crew arrived to finish the job by covering over the screws in the newly installed windows. Mark and Ken did a nice job on the finishing touches. The house is now afforded hurricane protection without using unsightly metal shutters over the windows. I would recommend Storm Solutions for any hurricane protection needs desired to protect your home. The customer service provided by Storm Solutions was also excellent. I might add however , hurricane impact Windows are more costly than shutters , but the impact Windows provide a better "look". Photos to follow ...

After receiving several quotes I went with this company because they told me they could recess the header in the soffits. That turned out to be false. I reluctantly moved forward with the project as hurricane season was fast approaching. They did the initial install on 08/25/25. It was horrible. They attempted to install them tight to the soffits and wound up bending the headers. I was then told that they would replace the covers. They came back several weeks later with new covers. The result was exactly the same. Several more weeks passed and they came back, removed and lowered the units. while this did correct the warping I now have a big ugly gap between the header and the soffits. Additionally one of the shutters is making a loud popping noise. The other item is the missing snap covers for the vertical supports. They have tried to install these twice without success. We're going on a year since I initially ordered these shutters. Support covers are still missing and I fear that the one shutter is going to soon fail. It's evident that the unit was warped during the initial install. One other item is that the final inspection was never completed per the city website. I've made countless phone calls to the company. They never return my calls. I've also sent numerous text messages to the owner Waylon. Again, he never responds. It's clear that he has no interest in customer satisfaction. It's been almost a year and the job is still not complete. Do yourself a favor and go with Storm Smart or anyone else.

Seemed expensive and a long lead time, but fine, they are highly rated so I went with them. During the job, they came out 4 times to measure the windows. 4 times! Also, took 3 installing visits to get it right. Again, things happen, so was just glad when the job was completed. Got the final bill. It was $1800. Called the office to ask why. Got the owner. Told it was for travel surcharge to the island. I said it wasn't part of the original quote. She then in a very patronizing way went on to tell me they sent an email in January (that I don't have in my records) telling about the surcharge. Again fine. As I was ending the call, said they need to be careful. It won't always be this busy and people will remember how she treats them. Her response was to say "she wasn't going to listen to me school her on her business and she was hanging up." And she did. Unbelievable. I wanted to tell her I also have run very large businesses, and when a customer wants to give you feedback, listen!!! Anyone who is looking to open a screening company, come to Fort Myers, FL. What started as an exciting impact window and door…read moreproject turned into a stressful experience filled with installation concerns, unfinished repairs, and poor communication. We dealt with improperly waterproofed window openings, recessed window installs, damaged exterior trim, and unfinished drywall/stucco work. One window was ordered the wrong size and instead of replacing it properly, a 2x4 was added beneath the window and the original sill was reinstalled on top. We had two separate GCs inspect portions of the work who both expressed concerns with the installation quality and waterproofing details. Despite bringing these concerns forward multiple times, the company refused to correct what we believed were installation-related issues.
