0 stars! I bought a HORRIBLE Jeep Patriot from a used car dealership and mechanic shop called High Tier Automotive in Beaver Dam, WI. DO NOT buy any vehicle from them! They buy old cars & hide the problems, as least with mine! After owning my Jeep, there were many problems to the point where I could not keep it because it wasn't safe to drive. Shortly after buying it, the car shut off on me 2 different times. One of the times, I was half way into the street from the gas station parking lot and the car shut off. The cars were coming my way at about 40mph and almost crashed into my car because I was stuck there! Another issue was that there were 2 loud noises, which developed louder and louder over a short period of time after purchase. I took it to High Tier. They refused to fix anything at first until I demanded that they do. They said it was the power steering pump & replaced it free. But the problem was still there. Nothing got fixed. Then they said it was actually a different part (forgot what it's called). They replaced that for free. One noise was gone, but the other noise that I was complaining about was still there! Then they tell me it's the transmission, and they refused to fix it without me replacing the entire transmission. A USED transmission estimated to $4,000-$5,000. They raised their voice with me on the phone and argued, saying if I don't stop demanding they fix my Jeep, they were going to hang up on me. The way they talked to me was very unprofessional and should not be tolerated by any customer! So the transmission problem didn't get fixed. I had a warranty with my bank & I got A LOT of other problems fixed, which totaled to about $5,260 without the cost of a USED transmission or the 2 parts High Tier replaced. (As a side note, 2 other mechanics also said there was a problem coming from the transmission.) Then the rear tie-rods start making a REALLY loud noise, like parts are going to fall off as I'm driving. I couldn't drive much longer without getting those fixed or essentially I will lose steering when they decide to come apart. Another time, the rear wheel bearings were going bad and making a very loud noise as well. I needed to get that fixed soon because it is dangerous to drive at high speeds with this issue. Mind you, I drive on the interstate, going 75-80mph. So my life was at danger plenty of times with this jeep. They also put a lot of air fresheners in the car before it was sold, to hide the retching cigarette smoke smell that smells exactly like their dealership!! The amount of problems was more than the cost of my Jeep! It was sold cheaper than other Jeeps I compared it with (taking in consideration the milage, year, cost) and now I know why! I lost thousands of dollars buying a vehicle from High Tier Auto! Their excuse about all of these problems was, "You bought an old car, what do you expect." I believe they put old, shitty parts from other cars to the failed parts on my Jeep to make things seem fine at the time of buying, but once I drove it for a week minimum, the problems started to show and kept coming. I've stressed so bad because I had to go without a car for long periods of times to keep getting all of these things fixed. I've spent lots of money on Uber rides & have had to walk a couple of times. I've spent 7 long months suffering with this car, scared I would get into an accident or that it would shut off on me again. And all of these problems appeared in less than 2 months of buying, along with a long list of other problems I did not discuss. They knew this vehicle had all of these problems because not only are they a dealership, but they are MECHANICS too! They should go out of business for being fraudulent!
